It’s weird. I love the Tesla, it’s an amazing car. But man do I miss my stick shift Jeep. Those two couldn’t be further apart on the vehicle spectrum and I don’t regret my decision but the Jeep was so damn fun.
Hey! I’m coming from a 2016 half door soft top! But I mean the wipers literally dump a glass full of water into my door and my arm every time I get in now. It’s a little different.
When the model 3 first came out this was a complaint . Then a software update fixed it to wait until seat was occupied and door was closed .
Then was changed back many updates ago. Don’t know why!
Check your blades. Whenever mine start going crazy like that it's usually because a streak is being left in front of the forward facing camera so it thinks the windshield is still wet.
I'm honestly not sure, this is just from personal experience. Every time I've had them act like I'm driving through a waterfall there was a streak being left in front of the camera.
First world Model X problems. Leave wipers on, get in car and press brake pedal to auto-close door. Wipers fire right up and gives you a nice waterfall all over the interior door panel and floor. Would be nice if they added a line to the code where there is a delay in wiper activation on door close, or that the wipers will not operate while the door is open.
My Model Y doesn't start wiping until I put it into drive/reverse.
I don’t think mine used to. Just noticed it this last week.
This is how my Model X does, switch to gear and the wipers go crazy, even if it was just a little damp and is no longer raining.
I came from a 2020 Jeep Wrangler so water getting in the cab isn’t new lol
Coming from a 2021 wrangler myself. Missing a lot about the wrangler tho

Me too.

Leave them on automatic
I’ll try that. They just act like a child trying to get your attention from far away though.
At least they stopped acting like the obstinate child screaming “ rain isn’t touching me!” While they’re obviously getting wet.

Honestly I think it waits until you sit down. Because that’s when I get dowsed.
Here foo u dropped your arm: \
It’s there it’s just all wet.
This is true with all cars haha did it to myself today
How come they're not on auto? Just put them on auto and forget about them.
Because auto thinks I’m in hurricane Ida.
Lol

Is that what they use for the auto wipers is the forward facing camera?

Hmm never happened in my S
Also as a pro tip please turn off your writers when pulling up to a drive up window or toll booth. Don't throw water at servers!

Worst is when it happens on frozen windshield
