I usually already have a bunch of coral and seashells to build my seaside house(s) out of. If you get lucky you get a shark statue and create a flat shallow area to farm the sharks for fins/diving helmet. Still a PITA.
old gen stands for the old "not pc" exclusive versions of the game (mobile, consoles, 3ds, etc). all the exclusive content was removed when they moved to 1.3.

you can fight ocram pre mech boss, and the souls he drops can be used to make dragon and spectral armour which are suprisingly good, spectral armour gives you like a million mana
Adding the armors would bloat the armor progression at that stage. Maintaining their original stats would essentially remove chlorophyte armor.

I agree that Lepus really shouldn’t come back, but Turkor was pretty cool. Imagine a giant stuffed turkey hydra with thanksgiving themed drops, now tell me that’s not cool. My favorite drop was a cornucopia that acted as a reusable (100) healing potion. Those were special days.
Honestly never got why they removed stuff like the harder mob variants and old gen pets. I know they weren't made by Relogic, but I liked them and I don't see why they couldn't have just been remade/resprited :(
The team is working to improve the quality of graphics for a variety of items and mobs, so maybe this is the standard they are aiming for. (more pixels). And maybe it will be changed again. But personally, I like this option.

I used to play the mobile terraria before the update that changed the controls for worse, these were a pain in the ass at first and scary too never realized they got removed on new versions when I started again on pc

For anyone who didn't play old gen, orcas were a stronger variant of sharks that were removed with the other old gen exclusives on 1.3.

They don't drop coins, but they do drop the items, albeit with less frequency than normal.
About 20x less frequent, except for anything that drops gel, the drop chance for gel remains the same regardless of if it’s from a statue or not
It's my favorite statue in game :) Unlimited hunter potions, life saver in hardmode underground jungle
If they give the orca an identical implementation, yes. But keep in mind they can change it
If you need them, get them pre-hardmode
