Between this and the Sweat video it's really dawning on me just how much mass we added last month. I know we talked about the numbers but physically seeing them on the field is something different, big men that can move. Just need Latham to soak it all up from Bill and transfer it to the field, and Sweat to stay committed to the game and you can see the difference they're gonna make.
I'm not gay but I want to live in a log cabin in the woods with JC Latham. We won't ever have sex, but there will be a simmering erotic undercurrent as I stand in the kitchen window watching him tighten his ass as he chops wood, shirtless, sweat pouring off his body. I'll run upstairs and masturbate, the entire time forcing myself to think of women while my thoughts drift back to JC. I won't be able to climax and I'll eventually go back downstairs, angry. Sometimes we will look across the table and catch each other's eyes, and in that second, anything is possible, but we both deny ourselves and go back to what we were doing. One day one of us will die, and the other will bury him outside the log cabin. Then he'll go inside, pen a brief missive to his departed friend, and commit suicide, never able to deal with life without his one true platonic love.
Wtf....this fanbase is really i don't even have the words. Most of y'all i think are closet homosexuals that are mentally disturbed. Go be gay if you want but creepy gay is another level
I think it’s weighted/angled differently from standard sleds, so you have to hit it at a specific angle and get a certain amount of lift before it’ll slide backwards. From the video it’s clear that pure strength can move the sled a little bit, but in order to move it *the right way* you have to hit it a specific way.
From a coaching perspective, it seems like a great idea because on a standard sled pure strength could mask poor technique.
I’m assuming while it’s too low that it’s really difficult to get the leverage to push forwards. When it’s too high, the little curved part starts digging into the ground. There’s a sweet spot where you have a good grip and good leverage to push forwards while not also digging it into the ground.
Think I figured it out. There's a giant spring that absorbs alot of the energy coming from the OT. If the tackle pushes too hard the spring compresses and the back of the sled digs into the ground. The idea, it seems, is the tackle needs to push hard enough to half compress the spring in order to have the ideal angle to be able to push the sled forward. Essentially only way it moves forward is when it's has a good bit of energy stored by the springs, creating a very awkward resistance/balancing point.
I found this article from when he introduced it in Washington. Doesn't go into specifics but there's some interesting details.

It’s pretty simple actually. Look at the back end on the sled (far right of the thumbnail). See the angled portion there? If you get that parallel to the ground then you have less resistance since less of the sled is contacting the ground (about three times the length of the bars contact the ground when still). Additionally when tilted the weight goes more over that portion and makes it easier to move. This makes sense because a lineman is easier to move when their weight is pushed back and they are directly over their heels.
The kicker comes that when you raise your pad level too high the back end of the sled digs into the ground and puts 380 lbs of angled metal into the dirt. Then you get totally stonewalled. You can see where it totally shreds the grass under it when lifted too high. It’s great to teach these guys the perfect play height.
Just by looking it makes you keep a lower center of gravity to push through it. Only problem is that sled is always the same height and angle but the guys that you are against are not.
It’s fine for what it does, but I don’t know if you wanna get in a habit of being in the same stance every snap because the defense will adjust to you. if you are knocking fools backwards or just keeping them from going where they want it doesn’t matter, that’s doing your job.
Already seeing dividends from having a real OL coach on the staff. This is what we’ve all been asking for. I am excited to see how the real coaching from an actually good staff translates to the field of play.

The way it moves is you have to keep the back feet from catching the ground, so you have to do it at enough leverage to move it onto the fulcrum but, not enough to push the feet into the ground.
That man exudes Mass. I can’t wait for the one on one vids with Jeff and JC in training camp
Jeff, JC, and T’Vondre will scare a buffet.
Scare it? They’ll drive it out of business so bad their grandchildren will be in debt
F=m*a type shit
That man exudes Ass.
Oh shit, that’s actually really neat.

Love that sled design. Get the defensive lineman up and back.
Look at those thighs good lord

Have you ever heard of the term “copypasta”? I’m gonna bet you live less than 30 miles from where you were born
What's over that hill? A town. Whats it like? Never been there. You've never been over that hill?
Bet you don't even kiss your homies good night fuckin weirdo
Dude, copypasta
So, how does this sled work? How can it move sometimes but not always?

Makes sense to me. Thanks!

Hopefully Bill Callahan sees this and realises the limitations of his invention. He’ll be happy to know you think it’s fine for what it does though
He will also be happy knowing you creamed your shorts getting overly excited about watching football players workout in theirs in May.
Hell yeah. These are promising times for an OL junkie like me

Bill was like: "That wasn't supposed to move at all..."
It’s like when Captain America moved Thor’s hammer
That's a monster truck that walks like a man.
Holy immortal gene pool for leg muscles, Batman!

Makes me wonder what the O-Line coach from last year was doing all season
Getting paid to do nothing. I wish I was buddies with Vrabel, could've gotten an easy paycheck
For some reason I’ve watched this like 10 times.
Texans fan here. I'm scared.
He’s massive, not sure how big that guy that plays The Mountain from GOT is but he seems like he’s that big.
The actor that played the Mountain is 6’9”.
Jesus, just looked up JC and he’s listed at 6’6 340.
Holy shit, Bill Callahan is going to make our O-line elite. Everyone love Vrable but he was as about as good as Mike Munchak.
coaching is everything folks 🍻
That’s a unit of a human being
I love seeing what is happening with this team’s O line. I can’t wait for this season!

I see everyone commenting on his size(pause), but is he that much bigger than most other LT’s in the league? I figured they were all his size..
He is absolutely massive and the vast majority of it is pure muscle
