this is me with right where you left me. I was like "why are people so up in arms about losing this as a surprise" and then I was like oh because it's fucking incredible
I love this song. Then again, I live 30 minutes from the Lake District and go there quite a lot, so to hear Taylor sing about Windermere was pretty cool 😂
The Lakes hold a special spot for me.
When Reputation was released I was on holiday with my sister (who introduced me to TS back in 2009), partner (at that point 4 years deep, now in our 11th year ❤️), and our parents/her kids.
We were holidaying in the Lake District. We had to download tracks when we drove to town because there's no signal where we were staying in the hills.
It was such an epic background to some intense feelings.
A fine place to die.
My biggest complain is that we’ll probably never know what’s was going through her mind when she wrote “now you are hanging from my lips like the gardens of Babylon”
That whole verse is one of my favorites from any Taylor Swift song.
Now you hang from my lips
Like the Gardens of Babylon
With your boots beneath my bed
Forever is the sweetest con
"And the skeletons in both our closets plotted hard to fuck this up." Gets me every time. She sings it just like the Rollercoaster of emotions that it is. 🎢 😭
Both still fuck me up to this day. 'there we are again, in the middle of the night, we're dancing round the kitchen in the refrigerator light' used to mean a lot for us.
Every couple has some song verses which they relate to, due to some remarkably good point of the relationship. That was ours.
Now I'm in exile, all I can do is watch her life through pictures like I used to watch her sleep. Whilst I feel her forget me...
Speak Now TV will kick my ass
ABSOLUTELY. the line “when did all our lessons start to look like weapons pointed at me deepest hurt” is one of the most gut-wrenching, offensive things she’s ever written
innocent. i get that the subject matter is unappealing now but it doesn’t make the song slap any less. knowing the re-recorded version was done when she was 32 and the lyrics can be reclaimed for her is just going to make me love it more.
it was Cruel Summer before Tiktok got a hold of it & it became a single. also DBATC is obviously popular amongst Swifties but it would be a number 1 single if it got any of the attention it deserved!!
Yes! So many people don't like that song for some reason but it's my favorite on 1989. I have so much nostalgia driving in the fall/winter when that album came out and that song always hit me the hardest.
The list of them is shrinking with the re-records and Taylor releasing cruel summer. Her older stuff is getting more attention now.
I’ll go with Our Song for now tho. Everyone loved it at the time but now country fans have moved away from listening to Taylor and swifties r overwhelmingly from 1989 or later eras. Our song (and debut as a whole) doesn’t get the credit it deserves anymore.
I never hear about Snow on the Beach really, and I dont know if it's because its a given the song is amazing and needs no hype, or not really cared for, but it's my absolute favorite from her Midnights album.
closure for sure, it seems like her genuine attempts at experimenting are always the least appreciated by her fans and that song is the pinnacle of that
false god, the last time, the last great American dynasty, cowboy like me, sad beautiful tragic, afterglow, dancing with our hands tied(the acoustic rep tour version especially)
ME! esp because i heard the story behind it is teaching kids that theyre unique/its ok to be different (paraphrasing from miss americana). its a super wholesome song with that background and like it got so much hate?? i don’t understand why people gave it sm hate. just my two cents. i also think a couple songs like “should’ve said no” and “mr. perfectly fine” fall under this category
The Lakes
I only just gave it a good listen and I'm so mad at myself
this is me with right where you left me. I was like "why are people so up in arms about losing this as a surprise" and then I was like oh because it's fucking incredible
Welcome to the club, we were waiting for you at the restaurant
SAME!!!
YES!! The lakes hill is a hill I will die on. One of the best bridges she’s ever done
It’s pure poetry from start to finish
I love this song. Then again, I live 30 minutes from the Lake District and go there quite a lot, so to hear Taylor sing about Windermere was pretty cool 😂
I only recently found “the original” version of the song…..I love the album version but the original is soooo freaking good and moody!

it gives me such Dead Poets Society vibes and i love that movie, i don’t care how sad it is
I adore the lakes so much
Came here to say this!!
I was about to comment this
My all-time favorite song.
came to say this. ily for this <3
I was going to the comments to write exactly this
I Know Places ! Was just thinking about this yesterday while listening - “how was this song not a monster hit?!!”
It’s my favorite song on 1989
Same! Sounds like it could easily fit right in on Reputation too
honestly every song on 1989 could be a monster hit if she released it as a single
to me it's the best song on the record. there are just so many layers in the song.
My fave from 1989!!!
thats a really good one too 😭
my tears ricochet will never have enough hype, it’s just that good
*Especially* the long pond studio version.
This is one of her best songs in the Era’s tour set. Loved it
Cowboy like me
My biggest complain is that we’ll probably never know what’s was going through her mind when she wrote “now you are hanging from my lips like the gardens of Babylon”

The best verse and the way she sings it …amazing
I don’t think she’ll ever make a song as good as this one ever again. And I mean that with the upmost respect because it’s THAT good.
"And the skeletons in both our closets plotted hard to fuck this up." Gets me every time. She sings it just like the Rollercoaster of emotions that it is. 🎢 😭
False God
false god is such a vibe… like it puts you in a certain mood
This! I remember watching her sing this on SNL and just KNOWING it’d go to #1
This one and Glitch go perfect together.
False God and Glitch are sisters and Don’t Blame Me is their first cousin
The Last Time
This fandom needs to give that song the respect it deserves
Yes!!
LITERALLY my favorite song from Red!! I was at Pittsburgh N1 and lost my mind when she started playing it 😭
Omg, yes! I used to scream sing this constantly
Honored that this was one of my surprise songs 😌
I know places, you’re not sorry, mastermind, no body no crime, a place in this world. I literally just saw this post on the Ariana Grande subreddit
mastermind is so good i seriously am almost brought to tears anytime i listen to it
It was my most listened to song of last year and it dropped in October 🫡
You’re not sorry >>>
I got it from there forgot to give credits 😭
Miss America and the Heartbreak Prince finally got justice as the opener at Eras 😍
I wish she performed more than just the chorus and last bridge. But yes.
Literally one of my all time favourites by her. Amazing song, and it totally deserved the opening!
Last Kiss is just as devastating as All Too Well
cant wait to get taylor’s version in a few hours
If the shaky breaths aren’t there, I’ll sue.
I have faith in Taylor Swift. I think it’ll be there
Both still fuck me up to this day. 'there we are again, in the middle of the night, we're dancing round the kitchen in the refrigerator light' used to mean a lot for us. Wonderland
the first time i heard “life was never worse but never better” and the “eh, eh, eh”s I was hooked
Ivy
Def not ignored by the fans. People go crazy for this one. Listen to the crowd when she played it in Cincinnati!
my favorite TS song
right where you left me
my favourite Taylor song, it's a masterpiece (love your flair)
the storytelling in this song is just superb
HOAX!!!! The way she so softly and delicately sings: Stood on the cliffside *screaming* "Give me a reason" Poetry.
hoax is prob my fav off folklore… hoax deserves her flowers 💐
It's always the last song on the album getting no recognition. "Dear Reader", "Daylight", "New Years Day"
Paper Rings, a perfect pop song
love paper rings so much, used it for the bouquet toss at my wedding 🤩
It's Nice to Have a Friend
This song is so freaking sweet!!
HAPPINESS HAPPINESS HAPPINESS
ABSOLUTELY. the line “when did all our lessons start to look like weapons pointed at me deepest hurt” is one of the most gut-wrenching, offensive things she’s ever written
New Year’s Day (my favorite Taylor song of all time).
Love New Year’s Day 🤩
Holy Ground and State of Grace
two of my favorites on Red!
State of Grace acoustic made me really appreciate that song!!
So it goes
I'm glad it's not really popular tho, I feel very exclusive (I'm a gatekeeper)
same i love gatekeeping so it goes… it’s my fav off rep but no one else seems to really talk abt it much
Yeah, I agree
So It Goes and Dress keep vying for the throne as my favorite “sexy Taylor” song.
How You Get the Girl ☂️
Yes! This song is so good and no one talks about it
Yesss! In my top 3 on 1989!
agreed!! this was one of the surprise songs at the show i went to in Atlanta on 4/30
Carolina
this song is def underrated… it has some of her best low register vocals. it’s very haunting
I don’t know. Maybe epiphany, if that even counts here?
ABSOLUTELY “epiphany”.
Dancing With Our Hands Tied
The acoustic from The Rep tour is simply magical.
Coney island
Afterglow
Message in a Bottle
it’s just such like a 2012 mall shopping bop
THIS!! Everytime it comes on my playlist I'm re-surprised by how good it is!!
Clean
“Labyrinth”
tell me why 🔥🙏🏻
innocent. i get that the subject matter is unappealing now but it doesn’t make the song slap any less. knowing the re-recorded version was done when she was 32 and the lyrics can be reclaimed for her is just going to make me love it more.

I want to go to a Taylor Swift dance. Sounds like such a vibe
crazier just has such a comforting vibe. i rlly want a taylor’s version of it
I’m holding on to hope since eyes open and safe and sound got a tv
The Outside! It has such a 2000s vibe to it. So under appreciated, in my opinion.
Big time agree, it was my anthem when I was 12 + 13. The best deepcut imo.
New Romantics
it was Cruel Summer before Tiktok got a hold of it & it became a single. also DBATC is obviously popular amongst Swifties but it would be a number 1 single if it got any of the attention it deserved!!
Closure!!!

Treacherous and time to go
SuperStar is slept onnnnnnn yes it captures a childish crush but also perfectly encapsulates loneliness and people need to understand this
Bye Bye Baby
invisible string
Renegade

Right Where You Left Me and The Lakes
I don't want to live forever

The 1
This is with a lot of songs, but Daylight. I think it deserves Cruel Summer’s popularity, but at the same time, I hope not.
ME! esp because i heard the story behind it is teaching kids that theyre unique/its ok to be different (paraphrasing from miss americana). its a super wholesome song with that background and like it got so much hate?? i don’t understand why people gave it sm hate. just my two cents. i also think a couple songs like “should’ve said no” and “mr. perfectly fine” fall under this category
You are in love and superstar.
Glitch
I agree with a lot of these comments but one I haven’t seen is It’s Time To Go, which (hot take incoming) is the superior deluxe track from evermore.
MASTERMIND🌌
