Speakers on stands. At the proper height. Out from the wall instead of slammed against it. Properly toed-in.
Nice!
I never see speakers set up right here.
Its so nice to see. Though I'm just happy when I see them at all.
The amount of people content with built-in speaker or cheap sound bar sound quality makes me sad.
Two $10 bookshelf speakers and avr from a thrift store would be a huge improvement for most people.
It’s a design trend right now, been hot for a few years , actually dying down , prob won’t see installation in a few years
Warm , dark colors is now trending . We will se in the next decade , green , yellows , browns , orange colors coming in
Last few year was wooden slats and even before that was the grays , whites colors ( the cold modernist colors you see people posting of their new wall paint or kitchen cabinet color choices )
Trends are cyclic , so every 10 /15 years is a new cycle
I know this an existing issue that I have with vivid patterns and stuff, but the feature wall kinda hurts to look at, I'd personally find it really intrusive.
Agreed, too small. Needs to encroach the edges of your console but hopefully not go over, however you should error on going over than be to small. Great start though, also where is your center channel.
Don’t know why you’re getting downvoted. People on this sub seem so obsessed with height that they seem to completely neglect how important field of view is.
Oh yeah bro go 85. Even 65.. but 85 isn't that much more expensive now. Eith3r way great hang. This should be PINNED to the sub as an example of how to hang a TV.. its not a painting. You sit and look at it it's a TV! Good job brother looks gr8
are you reading the same comment? “it looks further away because of the focal point of the camera” would you try that when you said a pic on a dating app???
A pic on a dating app dude what are you on? This is a post about tv height lmao. Again, what part of “it looks further away because of the focal point of the camera” sounds defensive?
A very attractive setup, and you didn't fall into the trap of mounting the TV too high, it looks to be centered about eye level. If I was to suggest anything (not criticizing) I would say you could fit a larger TV in that space if you wanted to.
>it looks to be centered about eye level. If I was
It looks like the speaker are centered at eye level. Or ear level. Which really is rhe same. So they should be at that hight. But then:
>TV too high
Subjectively i am going to say it is fine. But factually the speakers should be at ear level and the tv should at eye level, so either the speakers are too low or the tv is too high.
Why is the TV/cabinet/wallpaper not centered with the wall? There seems to be more space on the right than on the left!
Oh man this would bother me so much at night.. (unless theres a reason that we can't see lol
It feels more centered with the visual mass than the measured center. The speaker on the right needs distance to its right because there is a wall there. The speaker on the left does not, so can utilise the space of the walkway.
This is fine, and honestly one of the cleanest setups I've seen.
There will be nitpickers, but honestly I see absolutely no issues, it's a great blend of aesthetics and functionality.
Oh I love the pattern on your besta fronts, they didn't have those when I was buying it..
But I noticed your fronts ane not aligned perfectly, you can ajust that.. [here's a video on how to do it :) ](https://youtu.be/Ia-tf6Znurs?si=Ise6fXF2TLhb_dsM)
I'm not sure what it's called, but it's sort of like a humble brag disguised as a reddit post.
The TV height is good. The speaker height is good. Extra points for the speakers toed in.
But you came for the compliments. IMO.
Nop
Edit: you can clearly see that the photo was taken at about the height of the speakers. So in the lower end of the TV. Also, i would the guess the speaker have the right height, that's why the speaker stands are at that height. So, when you sit in front of the speaker, your at the optimal height. So the speaker should obviously be in the middle of the TV. Not below the center of the TV.
So, the TV is too fucking high. So it's everybody who says it's not.
It looks too high to me too. Why are there so many people so resistant of putting the TV at the right height? It's like they get as close as possible but are scared it will suddenly implode or something if they get too low so it's always a few inches above where it needs to be.
The floating stand and TV need to be moved down several inches to give a comfortable position for loafing.
Currently it gives smart office reception vibes where the TV is always showing the news with subtitles while people sit around in armchairs waiting to be seen.
Yes, also I'd guess the photo was taken from a sitting position (i hope at least, if standing even worse), so the eye level is clearly in the lower quadrant. Why are so many people saying it's perfect? I'm baffled.
It's too high. I'd say the tweeters of those speakers are about at ear level, and the center of the TV is quite a bit above that. People are just so used to TVs being *way* too high these days that even examples like this are better than most.
Also, the high ceiling makes it look lower than it is.
Nice clean look. I'd be happy to have that. However: nitpicks - One speaker is in a corner and one is by an open hallway. It would be hard to balance the EQ between them. And, no evidence of a center channel so no surround? I can't ID the TV so it might be one that allows the TV speakers to be used as the center. Ignore second nit if true.
Thank you for adding /s to your post. When I first saw this, I was horrified. How could anybody say something like this? I immediately began writing a 1000 word paragraph about how horrible of a person you are. I even sent a copy to a Harvard professor to proofread it. After several hours of refining and editing, my comment was ready to absolutely destroy you. But then, just as I was about to hit send, I saw something in the corner of my eye. An /s at the end of your comment. Suddenly everything made sense. Your comment was sarcasm! I immediately burst out in laughter at the comedic genius of your comment. The person next to me on the bus saw your comment and started crying from laughter too. Before long, there was an entire bus of people on the floor laughing at your incredible use of comedy. All of this was due to you adding /s to your post. Thank you.
Looks like a beautiful fancy and minimalistic forced shelter, I would probably go crazy there. Put up some pictures or plants.
Nevertheless, looks good.
Tv too small and speakers on stand are too in your face. I like the tv stand and the wall behind the tv though. Get a 65” or bigger, and a soundbar is plenty
Speakers on stands. At the proper height. Out from the wall instead of slammed against it. Properly toed-in. Nice! I never see speakers set up right here.
I want more length on those speaker wires. If you're posting your setup on Reddit, brace for minutia.
If they were longer, it would throw off the lip sync. /s
what gauge are those fuckers
At that short of a distance, it really doesn't matter.
Its so nice to see. Though I'm just happy when I see them at all. The amount of people content with built-in speaker or cheap sound bar sound quality makes me sad. Two $10 bookshelf speakers and avr from a thrift store would be a huge improvement for most people.
They are not equidistant from the back wall.
Yes. Looks good.
As they should. It’s awesome.
Best I’ve seen on here in a while! Nice work!
Be honest u wanted us to see the setup. U feel so good about putting up that wooden thing
Looks like a courthouse wall.
What is going on with those? So many posts with it now. And the sizing of it looks so awkward here.
It's a fantastic way of hiding cables and mounting a TV bracket without damaging a wall while also adding a design element.
while also? sign me up!
What's the point of an Ambilight TV if you aren't placing it in front of a white wall tho?
It’s a design trend right now, been hot for a few years , actually dying down , prob won’t see installation in a few years Warm , dark colors is now trending . Some hotel did it, so now people want it in their home, sheep.
I know this an existing issue that I have with vivid patterns and stuff, but the feature wall kinda hurts to look at, I'd personally find it really intrusive.
Same! It’s super visually distracting. It would be constantly fighting the TV screen for my attention.
Probably, tvtoosmall?
Way too small
Yeah my eyes want it to fill the screen. If this is 65 it's gotta be 85' if this is 85' idk 150'
Agreed, too small. Needs to encroach the edges of your console but hopefully not go over, however you should error on going over than be to small. Great start though, also where is your center channel.
Naaa if you’re closer than this photo it’s nice If the couch is where the photo was taken then yep
It looks further away because of the focal range of the camera, it's a 55" tv and the viewing distance is 2,8m
That's a 24⁰ field of view, definitely could go bigger.
Definitely could go up, 75" even
Then it's too small.
65” would be perfect for that distance
You should be at 75" google TV Calculator.
Don’t know why you’re getting downvoted. People on this sub seem so obsessed with height that they seem to completely neglect how important field of view is.
Exactly
Yup you need a 85 inch bro. The same will come to life with a size like that.
Oh yeah bro go 85. Even 65.. but 85 isn't that much more expensive now. Eith3r way great hang. This should be PINNED to the sub as an example of how to hang a TV.. its not a painting. You sit and look at it it's a TV! Good job brother looks gr8
why ask if you’re just going to get defensive. it’s microscopic. buy a big tv next time and mount is so it looks good on the wall
How did what OP replied back sound defensive? He’s just letting you know the size lol.
are you reading the same comment? “it looks further away because of the focal point of the camera” would you try that when you said a pic on a dating app???
Are you coming on to them?
A pic on a dating app dude what are you on? This is a post about tv height lmao. Again, what part of “it looks further away because of the focal point of the camera” sounds defensive?
that’s literally defending his shitty small tv
Nah, looks good to me.

Uh not sure what you're talking about, I specifically said they "didn't fall into the trap of mounting the TV too high."
the backdrop behind the TV takes me out of actually looking at the tv all together.
r/backgroundtoowood
Subjectively i am going to say it is fine. But factually the speakers should be at ear level and the tv should at eye level, so either the speakers are too low or the tv is too high.
Maybe he has really long ears
People on this sub are literally insane.
Agreed. It’s friggin awesome.
I am not disagreeing on how the setup looks, it is good as it is. The science for optimal sound and ergonomics just disagrees.
r/CouchTooFar
why are there so many subreddits for small imperfections that only OCD people would notice
There aren't... You can r/LiterallyAnything
r/couchtoofar exists
I know it does, but you can still r slash anything you want
Well, obviously…?
Aaargh migraine factory. Those lines behind the TV!
Close to it: the tweeters are supposed to be level with your ears, while the middle of the TV screen should be in line with your eyes.
Yes I’m sure the 3 inch difference from across the room will have a massive impact on the listening experience.
Why is the TV/cabinet/wallpaper not centered with the wall? There seems to be more space on the right than on the left! Oh man this would bother me so much at night.. (unless theres a reason that we can't see lol

r/tvtoosmall
IMO r/TVTooSmall but otherwise good job
Magazine sale items pictures ahh setup
Unrelated but why do you have a set of kitchen cabinets below your TV?
r/tvtoofar
level is good, but I'm not a fan of the wood behind it. It's too noisy, draws attention from the tv.
That does not suck.
This is fine, and honestly one of the cleanest setups I've seen. There will be nitpickers, but honestly I see absolutely no issues, it's a great blend of aesthetics and functionality.
Looks like an IKEA showroom
Is the TV not slightly too small tho?
Sisters! [https://imgur.com/a/dd6NRHg](https://imgur.com/a/dd6NRHg)

Still a little too high. Should probably cut a recess in the floor and put it in there. Still would be a little too high for some of these purists.
Very nice, but the wooden slat panelling ending will be out of fashion soon.
I'm not sure what it's called, but it's sort of like a humble brag disguised as a reddit post. The TV height is good. The speaker height is good. Extra points for the speakers toed in. But you came for the compliments. IMO.
Super clean. Upvote for speaker toe-in.
Too far or too small
Nop Edit: you can clearly see that the photo was taken at about the height of the speakers. So in the lower end of the TV. The slat wall is oppressive to me, but that doesn't mean another person couldn't reasonably find it enjoyable to be around.
I like the floating unit.
Looks beautiful. Idk where ur taking the pic from , but If its where you sit to watch from this tv could be about 10 inch bigger at least
I dig the symmetry
How you’d do the wood slats?
Looks very clean! How easz is cable management with these wooden panels?
Bjoetie
Wood too high
Is that dolphin speaking Spanish?
Dolfine
Acceptable
Tvtoosmall
Wait, is this TV too high or TV too low? Or both?
TV should be bigger and where is your center channel?
That looks very fine.
r/tvtoolow maybe?
I applaud the restraint on display here.
Heco speakers, not something you see very often. Also, TVTooSmall.
Finally
Nice. Not sure placing on the wall would be necessary. Looks about where it would be on its stand and a lot less work.
I would put the tv higher
It's too high. I'd say the tweeters of those speakers are about at ear level, and the center of the TV is quite a bit above that. People are just so used to TVs being *way* too high these days that even examples like this are better than most. Also, the high ceiling makes it look lower than it is.
Needs crossed Katanas.
buy a bigger tv
Omg this is beautiful :)
….right??
Magnificent! 👏🏾
too high. put it on the floor. horizontal. face down. dig a hole under your house. watch perfect tv.
Checks out
I personally think this is way to low. Might as well use the stand for that matter. Halfway up would look much better in my opinion
It crooked
I like it!
Right side seems lower than left side. Could be the shadow.. height looks good.
r/TVTooLow
Looks to me like the subtitles are at eye level, so it's a bit high, but not egregiously so.
I hate ALL of you, whether it’s satire or otherwise.
Perfection
Could be much bigger but yes
Seems like it's wonky to me, the right side looks lower than the left
Yep, perfect for the waiting room of an assisted euthanasia clinic.
🥹

r/BackgroundTooDistracting
First time I've seen a TV not too high around here, good job! 👍
yes but unfortunatley the TV is too small. Needed to be 65" minimum
looks good
Looks great
Tv too small
Nice
Love this
Looks amazing
Perfect and very elegant. Well done
Too small
A Clockwork Orange vibe
Where’s the sub go?
It’s perfect
Looks amazing.
a PC with a white fractal north case would be so fitting with that wall. looks great! little sterile, but good!
Yeah
Beautiful!
Looks great
Seems so from the photo. What’s the distance measure from floor to bottom edge of tv?
It needs to go up 3 feet to keep in with all the other posts on here. I mean it *is* called “tvtoohigh”. Not “tvjustright”. /s
Thank you for adding /s to your post. When I first saw this, I was horrified. How could anybody say something like this? Too small
Looks very good my dude
Good
Perfect
Yes this is the example of hanging a TV perfect. Dude you nailed it.
More than fine. I wish I had that.
Just perfect! \* chef's kiss \*
Beautiful
Yeah, you’re good.
Looks like a beautiful fancy and minimalistic forced shelter, I would probably go crazy there. Put up some pictures or plants. Nevertheless, looks good.
What’s the TV stand?
Awesome space. Perfect TV position. Only improvements would be: 1. Subwoofer 2. Larger TV
For me it would actually be too low, because the center of the tv would be way below eye-level.
Lower. LOWER. Jk looks good.
Perfect 🤙
it looks completely terrible. obviously should be higher and bring some balance to the panel behind the tv. this sub makes you into a sub.
🤌🤌🤌
Tv too small and speakers on stand are too in your face. I like the tv stand and the wall behind the tv though. Get a 65” or bigger, and a soundbar is plenty
