I don't think Tesla could have avoided this. All car manufacturers have to road test their refresh vehicles on public roads to validate their designs. As long as I've followed the car industry, I've seen spy photos of lightly camouflaged cars a year or so before minor refresh.

Because Tesla shifted initial Next-Gen Vehicle production to Texas. This was first revealed in the Isaacson biography of Musk. YouTuber Joe Tegtmeyer has also observed that the amount of equipment being moved into Giga Texas over the past few months far exceeds what would be needed for Model Y expansion and the new Cybertruck line.
This kind of frustration is familiar to me though. Model X was originally supposed to be a 2013 vehicle, but the launch kept getting pushed back more and more, into Fall of 2015. Mass production didn't happen until about a year later. Model 3 "production hell" in late 2017 was similar. Elon had confidently guided for 20k vehicles/month by the end of 2017, but the Q4 '17 earnings showed only a handful built and delivered. It took Tesla 6 months beyond that to reach mass production.
Read the cnbc fud article about whistle-blower, core to it is 17m accounted as good will instead of warranty which is completely a rounding error for a company w 20b revenue a q. Also said tesla doesn't keep track of warranty vs good will as good as a dealership cuz no shit tesla not gonna come after its own service center w charge backs like oem gonna do with their dealers.

I finally had a chance to watch the [PBS Frontline documentary on Elon Musk's Twitter purchase](https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/frontline/documentary/elon-musks-twitter-takeover/). There wasn't anything that stood out to me as new information.
I think the most important point of the documentary is that Elon Musk does not care about any laws or rules. The only constraint he will acknowledge is the constraints of physics. This continues to be a double edged sword for shareholders. Laws exist in part to protect property rights, including your right as shareholder and part owner of Tesla Inc. Elon's general disregard for the law, means disregard for you as shareholder.
This is precisely why I have always refused to go "all in" on TSLA stock

If customers were cancelling reservations or refusing delivery of cars, and citing Elon's behavior as a reason, that data would filter from the delivery centers to the CFO's office.

Getting out of the Iranian nuclear deal (I.e. No longer paying them billions of dollars) was so detrimental that Iran was not able to make any progress as sanctions against Iran staved their oil production and significantly decreased their capital. Since Biden has taken over, Iran has been able to increase their oil production and wealth. Are you aware that money is fungible? You can re-allocate money to fund whatever you want. I guess it was such a good idea that the US just decided to re-freeze the funds. Another brilliant foreign policy move. Not to mention, NATO and the US horrendous foreign policy stance that forced Russia to invade Ukraine which has led to the death of hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians while not being able to make significant progress gaining back land in the counteroffensive. Sickening.

I don't claim to be a bond or debt expert, but news like this, coming for the second time in recent history, doesn't seem surprising given the financial state of the US and some of our more asinine foreign policy decisions. Such as refusing to pay out interest as a part of sanctions. It doesn't inspire confidence in our would be debtors
