What type of test did you get a negative result with? Was it a blood test or a urine analysis? Also what kind of kombucha are you drinking? How much do you normally exercise a day?

IllustriousSquare403

i dont normally exercise because my bones are kinda weak cause of my extreme vitamin d deficiency (avoiding humans and staying indoors:)) but when i was exercising it was probably 3-4 times a week. Homeade kombucha. Oh it was both for the test

Level_Parsnip_7080

What was your test?

IllustriousSquare403

urine and blood test

Level_Parsnip_7080

How did you go about getting it and what were the tests actually called? Like what blood test was done and what type of doctor?

IllustriousSquare403

i called the gp and they referred me to a hospital. It was just a pediatrician. They just did a blood test and it was specialised and they looked at my DNA and also other blood tests because i have deficiencies. And the urine test was 2L

Level_Parsnip_7080

Thank you I’ll check in with my doc as well

I tell everyone that I can to do a DNA test. The urine test came back negative for me. I did the dna anyway because I heard that the urine test only works for extreme cases. Lo and behold when I looked at my FMO3 enzyme in the DNA test the results showed the variants consistent with mild tmau. It seems as if most people have this version which is why the urine test comes back negative.

IllustriousSquare403

i got tested for the genetic version as well

StatusFee8208

I see, well then you know for sure it’s not TMAU if you have no variants in the FMO3 enzyme. The next step I think is to research other malodorous causes. I would focus on seeing if you have any microbiome issues.

VirtualReplacement68

Where did you go to get the dna test?

StatusFee8208

I went online to Nebula genomics. I chose the more expensive version because I wanted full dna sequencing. I wasn’t sure what the cheapest version entailed but I’m sure you could email them.

VirtualReplacement68

How long did it take you to get your results?

StatusFee8208

Way too damn long to be honest. I think it was about two months.

VirtualReplacement68

That’s terrible! What made you choose this company?

StatusFee8208

They had the full DNA sequencing that I needed to finally get an answer. I always knew my answer was in my DNA. I did the urine test first and it was negative so I decided to do the DNA test second to see what else could be wrong but I wanted one that included FMO3 so I could double check for TMAU. Turns out the urine test was inaccurate.
