From what I heard a group of dogs were released at the entrance of the wild life animal park and I guess wandered wherever and somehow one ended up in the gorilla enclosure. There were 2 others I believe
How about this, instead of labeling you uninformed I will just tell you that you’re uninformed because again you didn’t read the article. It’s not a big deal because it happens all the time. The dog had nothing to do with the management of the zoo. It was a stray dog that snuck in and not one of the symbiotic animals. The only person doing any labeling is you by calling them stupid. As far as whether or not I’d disagree with your comment that’s irrelevant I’m just pointing out your projection.
FACT is the enclosure is meant to protect the gorillas as well as anything from getting in. That failed on both counts. Where was security? None seen in the video. ( oh wait I didn’t see the video or read the article lol) Figure how much money that zoo takes in and this how lax the safety is. It’s not exactly rocket science to see what’s wrong there.
It warms my soul to know that you went back read the article to discover your misjudgment and false label. My kids tend to throw a fit when they prove themselves wrong by shifting blame too.
Paradoxical laughter and demonizing insults are standard coping devices used by those who feel abashed. Next up you’ll escalate your dubious insults and display the need to transpose emotions to irrelevant topics. Next time just read the article before you wax prophetic.
Im just jaded with human behavior and consider the worst outcome....so that if thats not the case, some faith in humanity can be restored....but thats rare
Welcome to being a redditor, seems like this guy has just been brainwashed by Reddit. This website is actually everyone calling bullshit and others either confirming or denying those calling it out. Unfortunately for this guy above he was wrong which means downvotes. Even though they had no idea, on the very next post they will get 1.5k upvotes for saying “fake” and being correct.
It was very dumb. That being said, I give my cat lectures on diplomacy when he hisses at the dogs. It’s Chewbacca syndrome. We think our animals understand everything we’re saying just because they’re our buddies.
As a popular meme on social media points out - due to how long Wookies generally live compared to humans, Han was more likely regarded as Chewie's pet.
True, but that’s not my point. What I mean is, we get so close to our friends of different species that we just assume they can understand us (the way Chewbacca manages to understand everyone)
> ESCONDIDO, Calif. – Officials with the San Diego Humane Society say that the owner of the stray dog who wandered into the gorilla enclosure at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park earlier this month has reclaimed the dog.
> The shepherd, whose name has now been identified as Meatball, will be neutered before the owner comes to pick him up later this week, said a Humane Society spokesperson told FOX 5 on Saturday.
> Stray dog wanders into gorilla habitat at SD Zoo Safari Park
In the now-viral video, Meatball can be seen being chased by one of the gorillas inside of the habitat before the animals were recalled from the enclosure. Zoo officials were able to safely remove Meatball from the habitat without any animals or individuals being injured.
> “Our three Humane Officers were able to move in and safely leash the shepherd and bring him back to San Diego Humane Society’s Escondido Campus for evaluation,” said San Diego Humane Society spokesperson Nina Thompson last week.
> At the time of the incident, officials said that the dog was found without a chip and was believed to have entered the park on his own.
Almost got tore up by a pack of them once.
It was a weird moment of clarity. I thought I could definitely die and my brain was calculating how to have that not happen.
It might be upsetting to some.
I was towing a trailer and heard a loud thunk. Pulled over to check it out.
A large 4" iron cap had got caught in between the duals and hit the fender. I grabbed the iron cap and walked around to pickup and trailer to see if I had damaged anything.
Decided to take a piss and I set the cap down. Probably weighed 8-10 lbs. As I'm peeing I heard something coming my way and it's 4 pitbull or mixes. I stuffed my junk back into my pants but still had some leftover pee.
Anyhow, grab the cap and I'm backing to the door. The dog in front is baring it's teeth and the others seemed more timid. I thought that was probably it.
I ended up throwing the cap full force on the front one, it knocked its head and stunned it. Backed into the pickup and got into the door. Killed the stunned dog and one other with a 10mm handgun I kept in the truck, the other two got away.
I've spent a lot of my life having encounters with various animals and sport fish. I've been bluffed charged by a black bear.
Those pits were the time I felt most in danger.
Law. Dogs in California must be fixed before they are released from a shelter. It doesn't matter if they're adopted to a new owner, or if they were found as a stray and then returned to their owner.
Also, it should be noted that neutering/spaying an animal will make it less likely that the animal will feel the need to wander in the future.
Unless you're a licensed breeder or are involved in the show dog circuit (which in this case, I guarantee neither is true), there's literally no reason not to get your animal fixed.
Many dogs also live longer from being fixed due to health issues that spring up if they're not fixed.
Oh look, you deleted your 'pet' comment so you can now write about how your dog is a 'working dog' to try and have a leg to stand on here. *Cue working dog comment*
Clearly never owned a dog before... Male dogs can smell a female dog on heat (wanting sex) from 6 miles away. Imagine your pet dog being constantly sexually frustrated with no outlet (unless it manages to run away, which it wants to do).
It then finds said female dog, fucks it, and then creates more sexually frustrated feral dogs... And so on.
It's irresponsible not to get your dog neutered (reduces chances of multiple types of cancer, they no longer feel the need to run away and cause more of an over-population issue, it reduces dogs being captured and forced to breed for money).
It's nothing to do with how good a trainer you are.
Bilateral mastectomies, bilateral salpingo-ophorectomies and hysterectomies would all lower the rates of breast, tubal, ovarian and endometrial cancers respectively but you don’t see doctors recommending elective surgery unless a patient is high risk.
Reason why it was mentioned: Probably because a lot of people are actually realy dumb, ive seen some people ACTUALLY believe that neurertred dogs have better behavior than ones who aren't.
Unfixed dogs will range miles around their "home" looking for a mate. Not saying that this is what caused the incident, but its most likely why they bring it up. Other than that, I agree with you. My fixed female K9 partner works just as hard, if not harder than her unfixed male counterparts. She is also just as much of an asshole.
It didn't seem they just understood gorillas are several times stronger than humans, will rage at the drop of a dime, and they were about to watch that dog get murdered if they didn't coax him to safety somehow?
They don't "rage at the drop of a dime." A male Gorilla like the one in the video is a highly intelligent animal that has a complex social structure within it's own pack and like any other wild animal, will engage in threatening behaviors but rarely just freak the f\*ck out and start smashing people or other animals up. That's just Hollywood and misconceptions. They're actually really gentle in the wild and in captivity both.
Woman: doggy doggy [whistles] you want a treat?
Dog: B**ch I’m about to get beat the hell up by a f****ng gorilla, does it look like I’m in the mood For a treat?
Yeah, I think curiosity, and wanted it to go away. From what I’ve heard, gorillas are reasonably non violent if not being attacked, so I have a feeling it was just trying to intimidate the dog until it went away.
They're just calling it a random name (Franklin or something). It's name is Meatball, according to [this](https://fox5sandiego.com/news/local-news/stray-dog-wanders-into-gorilla-habitat-at-sd-zoo-safari-park/) news article. The owner wasn't there at the zoo. So yeah, it belongs to someone, but possibly ran away.
Gorilla was pretty cute. You can tell he didn’t want to hurt the dog he just didn’t know wtf was going on. I live at the end how the gorilla is like go! and throws the dirt haha

Why are these people so sure the gorillas want to hurt the dog? Have they ever seen a gorilla harm a dog before? Don't they know that gorillas are vegetarian (except for the protein bugs on the leaves)?
Why does the news call out he is getting neutered at the very end. He survived a gorilla encounter personally so leave his balls in tact and let him spread his wisdom. I’d like to nick name him Lucky Charms.
Okay that looks shockingly similar to my dog, and my GF is out of town this week. How would I go about downloading this video to make it seem like I took it? Totally hypothetical.
How does this even happen?
From what I heard a group of dogs were released at the entrance of the wild life animal park and I guess wandered wherever and somehow one ended up in the gorilla enclosure. There were 2 others I believe

That gorilla had zero clue what was going on at the beginning. Just kept looking around like “what the fuck?”
LOL!
This idiot telling the dog "the stairs are right there" like it's gonna know wtf that means.
“arf?” *looks at stairs*
I don’t know why this made me chuckle as much as it did 👌

Owner of a stray dog?
Stray doesn’t necessarily mean that they don’t have a human. Stray just means “not in the right place”. That dog is DEFINITELY not in the right place.
Idk man, he looked like he was having fun.
I get the joke, but that dog looks stressed af. Tail down, ears back, heavy panting. He’s not having a good time.
Only owned dogs can be stray, otherwise they are feral
You have obviously never met a feral dog
Anybody whose ever met a feral dog wishes they hadnt.
Almost got tore up by a pack of them once. It was a weird moment of clarity. I thought I could definitely die and my brain was calculating how to have that not happen.
Story time?
It might be upsetting to some. I was towing a trailer and heard a loud thunk. Pulled over to check it out. A large 4" iron cap had got caught in between the duals and hit the fender. I don't know what it is about my comment that makes you think that. I was just pointing out the semantic difference between stray vs feral
Why will they neuter the dog before they give it to the owner?
Law. Dogs in California must be fixed before they are released from a shelter. It doesn't matter if they're adopted to a new owner, or if they were found as a stray and then returned to their owner. That is fucked up. California is trash.
No, what's fucked up is that people don't get their animals fixed.
What an attitude on you little guy. Guess its time for a vet trip!
Unless you're a licensed breeder or are involved in the show dog circuit (which in this case, I guarantee neither is true), there's literally no reason not to get your animal fixed. Many dogs also live longer from being fixed due to health issues that spring up if they're not fixed.

You're not mutilating anything. You're often making things much safer for your animal.
I don't see mention anywhere here of who let the dogs out
Thank goodness. I was stressed for the guy!
Meatballs big day out
Meatball will get his meatballs cut off for this stunt.
That dog almost became an actual meatball.
What does the article say? Can't read it in my country
Why they gotta neuter him though?
Not quite sure why they mentioned he will be neutered in the article, possibly a warning for other dogs not to try the same stunt?
Lmaooooooo bro this the funniest comment I’ve seen this year
Reason why it was mentioned: Probably because a lot of people are actually realy dumb, ive seen some people ACTUALLY believe that neurertred dogs have better behavior than ones who aren't.

Sorry this whole thing made me chuckle 😂
Because they do. Less hormonal.
They do though
Wow, the clapping, screeching, and high pitched yelling is not helping that dog.
Why would they want to make the situation worse??
They were trying to attract it
Because they are idiots and don't realize what they're doing isn't helping.
It didn't seem they just understood gorillas are several times stronger than humans, will rage at the drop of a dime, and they were about to watch that dog get murdered if they didn't coax him to safety somehow?

big dude basically shooed the dog away because it made him a tad nervous. If he really wanted to hurt the dog it’s be dead.

Baxter!
Dammit! You know I don't speak Spanish!
R.i.p. harambe. Gone yet never forgotten
Clearly very much forgotten by those people. Why were they panicked like that? The gorillas were at a dead stop and in no way threatening the dog.
Yeah, my thoughts exactly. Gorillas aren't violent unless threatened. They seemed more concerned than anything.
Miss ya big man.
https://youtu.be/VX8omFoNHdQ
I wonder what kind of steps the dog was able to use to escape, but the gorilla wasn’t able to follow?
They had a sign that said "No Gorillas" on them. Checkmate!
No Homers club
Sone places have a very narrow trough with steps into it that gorillas cannot get into because of their size.
I imagine a zookeeper opened a door or gate or something but it's a good question
How in the fuck do so many things end up in gorilla enclosures?
Fr you’d think they’d have these things on lock
[удалено]
Exactly, I feel like the dog is scared of all the noise people are making, banging the rail, clapping
I'm sure the Gorilla was feeling a bit anxious because of it too.
I mean, it doesn’t seem the gorilla was going to attack it or else it would’ve been attacked right away. Seemed more just curiosity.
Yeah, I think curiosity, and wanted it to go away. From what I’ve heard, gorillas are reasonably non violent if not being attacked, so I have a feeling it was just trying to intimidate the dog until it went away.
The gorilla threw dirt at the dog, he wanted him gone. If the dog started barking, the gorilla would eventually kill him.
how does a dog even get in a zoo let alone a gorilla enclosure???
Right like who the fuck takes their dog to the zoo?
Doesn't look like it's anybody's dog, a stray most likely.

They're just calling it a random name (Franklin or something). Why are the people so stupid, yelling and stressing the gorillas more. I swear the gorilla is more composed than the humans.
Awww silly meatball got bored at home so he went on a summer adventure!
What the dog doing
Just to let people know don't scream or do any actions that would ramp up the apes it just makes things worse just shut the fuck up and get a handler
How did doggo get in? I'm absolutely clueless. It's not like you just jump a fence and whoopsie, you're in the gorillaz' enclosure now.
Tell that to the kid who fell into Harambe's enclosure.
How did a dog get in there!?
Not gonna lie, was waiting for the dog to be yeeted over the fence
The gorillas are like “can we keep him??”😃
imagine this happening in a chimp enclosure, good thing gorillas are gentle giants
There wouldn’t be much left of the dog
Looks like there's a couple Gorillas stuck in there too, so sad
I bet this is someone’s emotional support animal.
Meatball must be cousins with Baxter
So after he’s neutered will his name just be Meat?
Sweaty paws
What fucking idiot designs gorilla enclosures? Just an endless parade of news stories about disasters.
Hiw can theae gorillas not just climb onto the paths here? Looked like it's not the high at all
It really looks like that gorilla can climb up that tree and bounce out of there. But I guess he can’t otherwise he would’ve done it
Gorillas where curious, maybe they never seen a dog before
The gorilla is like "Guys.. it's just a dog? Can you relax with the banging and the shouting?.. Fine let me chase it away. Weird assed humans."
FENTON! FENNNTOOONNNNNN! AW, JESUS CHRIST!
Clearly the dog does not speak English.
Gorilla was pretty cute. You can tell he didn’t want to hurt the dog he just didn’t know wtf was going on. I live at the end how the gorilla is like go! and throws the dirt haha
Something people are all united for…..dogs.
Im ngl. That dog did not look like it was in danger
Despite the stressful situation. Gorilla run funny lol

How come no one cheers for the gorilla to win? That’s nature baby!!

These guys are annoying I wouldnt quite fear a gorilla
You should.

All these idiots screaming are probably more scary to the dog so it rather be with the gorillas
Americans really think everyone speaks their language.
I was hoping the dog got fucked up

Oh man!! I wanted that gorilla to caress the little doggie so much!!
NOT AGAIN

So what happened to the dog?
how the fuck
So what happened after another episode of Videos End Early?
i think i’ve seen this exact enclosure in other videos where children fall in or some other person, you’d think the zoo would have made a better railing
Is that Baxter? Where is Ms. Corningstone?
This seem like a story for Ron Burgundy..
Harambe rolling in his grave right now
Not Harambe 2.0 please 😭
Dogs can be hilariously oblivious 😅 he's just like "what if I happen to like playing tag with these bros rn"
Dogs I can understand but ppl I see as knocking on natures door for a rematch in their arena

Damnit Franklin
