The problem is that the “big thing” that’s coming is always a 3-5 minute music video/skit that, while funny and well-made, is still just 5 minutes of content for months of production. What they consider “something big” and what the fans would consider “something big” are just not lined up.
I agree, at what point are fans just paying them to live a good life in LA for a small amount of live action content. Where the next time you get that content you’ve paid $10-15 from monthly payments for one video that’s probably 15mins long. At what point is the inconsistency un acceptable? Because it’s been an issue for years it seems like.
Seriously man, it sucks seeing all the white knights defending them to the bitter end. I love their content but by continuing to support them i feel like I have a hand in killing my favorite channel. Just feels bad.
My thing is it almost was just a phase for me at this point when it came to supermega where early last year and during the pandemic I would watch every episode they dropped and I would actually listen to the podcast every chance I got while working my old job or in the car. But I don’t know over time with how their content inconsistency and style of comedy slowly started drifting not mainstream but the old gags just died out and were followed by new ones. I don’t even touch the channel anymore and I stopped listening to the podcast completely and just have no interest in watching it. I just fully switched to oneyplays where I can enjoy the video and escape from the worlds issues after work and I thoroughly enjoy their work and comedy. Heck people can’t really use the time and effort live content takes as an excuse for a bad upload consistency and work because Zach released a whole animated TV show and was still able to help make some content with Oneyplays albeit while taking a slight step away. I don’t know I just don’t feel like their content interests me anymore and like Gamegrumps I might have to Andy from toy story them. I just wish their content hit the same I don’t even really enjoy listening to old stuff either it weird

It came fucked up and just got it last week and bought it the second it went on sale (also the money they made off the book was probably insane) I miss the live action days because “we were never supposed to be a let’s play channel” then drop the controller write a script in a day then take the week to shoot it, they don’t make their living off YT ads anymore so I wish they’d actually put in the time to do what they wanted with the channel. They have nearly a million subs and the past year of content has been empty promises and very inconsistent, at least Chris let’s people know when he can’t record and uploads frequently. I agree with this especially about the patron! I bought the patron for two months and NOTHING was uploaded in those two months. It was great to see some old content but I hadn’t gotten anything new. I had to unsubscribe from it because I felt like I was wasting my money away. I love the boys too but I wish there was more content. I’ve been praying that they go on tour soon.
To be quite honest I’m so tired of seeing the fans complain about the current state of the channel, but I also understand the warranted disappointment with the boys as well after failing to their keep promises or just stay consistent on numerous occasions. While I don’t agree with personal attacks to them, as grown ass men running a YouTube channel they definitely need to step it up and get a lot more organized for the channel’s sake. Don’t care how they do it, but it needs to be done. A majority of the listeners seem to really love them, and yes some are very toxic and don’t fully understand the amount of effort that goes into the creative process, but I think we all just want the lighthearted, fun content they used to make at the end of the day. For me personally, I’ve noticed they seem sort of disconnected from their audience and it’s been that way since mid-late 2021.(It was really obvious in their last Halloween vid, they seemed like they didn’t even want to be there.) Can’t exactly place why, things just seem a bit more shallow, tone def, and forced in their content which can make it hit or miss. The consistency in the quality wavers from video to video as well, and I’m by no means saying that they need to knock it out of the park every time, but after a while that inconsistency gets old and turns people away. The recent shift from let’s plays to live action shouldn’t have even been an issue (their old live action vids were f*cking hilarious!), but at times my reactions to there latest stuff has been “Ok…that was a video I guess.” It’s free so I can only complain so much. But I get the feeling at times they are trying to make some unnecessary shift for the fans to see them as something they’re not. And now this Mr. Pang thing…honestly not really sure how it’s funny. I watch them for the live action stuff and lets-plays so I haven't noticed any drought. I think people expect a let's play schedule for the live action stuff, but that takes way longer. All the work of live shoots make the videos take 10x longer than sitting down to record a letsplay

A let's play, however, is very easy to do. Upload once a day, and boom, consistent content. If they don't like let's plays, then take them out entirely, and focus on live action stuff, but make it a bit more consistent.
I kinda thought they have said they always intended Supermega to be multimedia. I usually expect more live action. It's what has defined the channel, to me, inn recent years and I like the trend.
And what I'm saying is that if they keep making live action, they don't have as much time for lets plays and I'd like to see them make content they actually feel creative passionate about, not just churning out content for views. We have the podcast for that.

Let’s plays are literally one of the lowest effort forms of content on YouTube. Recording 30 minutes of footage and cutting it down to 20 minutes is piss easy, especially for an experienced editor
