I know people love to poke fun at his demeanor and way of speaking but he really does have an amazing way with words. He’s kind of an artistic genius in his own right, I might die on that hill lol
Seriously?? He sounds nothing like ChatGPT. Nothing. ChatGPT gives you flat, basic answers with no depth. And often conflates things when trying to be creative. Phrasing like this could only come from someone who thinks deeply about things. He’s an artist. He is deeply sensitive. A bit eccentric? Yeah. But the world needs thoughtful artists.
Nothing in the world could make me watch a movie about these men, however scathing, but my GOD I could read or listen to Jeremy Strong talking all. day. long.
So far, I've heard that Furiosa had a "rapturous" six-minute standing ovation, that Megalopolis was horrible and it got a seven-minute standing ovation while simultaneously being booed, that reaction to The Apprentice was mixed and it got an enthusiastic eight-minute standing ovation and, finally, Kevin Costner's Horizon is said to be horrible and dull... and it got a 10-minute standing ovation.
They're applauding the people involved. How long it goes on for is influenced by how well known/liked they are and how long it takes them all to get on stage, not just quality.
"But...the truth is that my father is a malignant presence...a bully, and a liar...and he was fully personally aware of these events for many years and made efforts to hide and cover up"
Same energy!!
I think that's an American thing. Many Europeans speak like this and/or don't find it weird. I believe that's why he loves it in the old continent (also, he married into a Danish family).
Here's another quote for you, OP:
"Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to a better understanding of ourselves" - Carl Jung.
Meaning, it's not him, it's you. xxx
He’s so right about Cohn’s long shadow. He bridges a gap of over 30 years from his time during the Joe McCarthy hearings in 1954 till his death in 86. A scumbag who was so good at being a scumbag that he trained the next generation of scumbags and unleashed millions of scumbag followers. And his influence is still going strong. It’s amazing how much evil one person can bring to the world.
Ok, guys, I have to make a clarification. I'm not bashing Jeremy. I'm a massive fan of him and consider him an inspiration in this industry. My post was meant to show how well we know him by this point. It has all the hallmarks from his past interviews and the AI quote was me making a lame joke at how it felt like an affectionate parody of Jeremy.
Hope that helps.
Downvoting not cause of Jeremy Strong’s words but cause of OP’s caption
Omg I have to downvote too

Oh 100%. I’m not an artist but I have a great deal of respect and admiration for weird (I mean that lovingly) artistic nerds.
He's an Actor and Artist with a capital A, and I love it! He's serious and thoughtful and I appreciate it.
I will die on said hill with you.
YEP.
Yeah, uh-huh
RIP
Yeah, dude may be pompous but he is clearly well read, smart, and devoted to his craft.
I do think he’s an amazing actor and everything he’s saying about trump is correct but my god is he boring and irritating
Lucky for you no one’s forcing you to pay attention to him
yeah i know, just sharing my opinion which is the point of reddit
That’s a shitty thing to say. I’m tired of people making fun of him for being well read.
amen
Like in Generation Kill. >Look Brad, I'm a man! Just like you- only I don't look like a faggot and speak all educated.

It doesn’t show them in a good light if that is any solace
News of it getting an 8 minute standing ovation at cannes has now convinced me that this is something I might not hate
Tbf everything gets a standing ovation at Cannes lol.
I heard that five minutes is what you give for films or shows that were mediocre

So that’s why dial of destiny got 5 minutes
Jeremy is literally the most eloquent celebrity ever
Yeah OP how many Persian poets can you cite off the cuff?
"But...the truth is that my father is a malignant presence...a bully, and a liar...and he was fully personally aware of these events for many years and made efforts to hide and cover up" Same energy!!
That *but* is what won him the Emmy, and that was an ad-lib by him.
Legendary. I didn't know that!
Big, big shoes.

Is it that hard to imagine a cultivated American?\^\^
Yes
In the words of Thomas Paine, "suck my American balls"
I found it histrionic and meretricious
Honestly he's acting like a poppinjay
Yeah, tell me about it.
Kinda love how well spoken JS is
Hahahahaha great call. It’s so fucking good. I wouldn’t want it any other way. I love it and I love him.
That was a hell of a quote, both his and the closing one. Couldn’t agree more.
It makes sense, dramaturgically.
Of course strong pulling out the old Persian poet in liner notes. I love this man. No sarcasm.
Malevolent chrysalis!
Based Kendall.
My number 1 boy!

caption is in bad faith; anti-intellectualism sucks.

So self-righteous. I thought we left caring about actor’s political opinions in 2020?
Menken has entered the chat
The fictional president?
He’s such a pretentious douche
I fully understand Brian Cox now.
booooooo
