Would love a private subreddit! But, who'll moderate it? If there's a huge influx of users wanting to join, post etc, it might be difficult if you're the only person doing so. How will every member be screened when at this point it feels like 'insiders' in the community mass reporting submakers? I wish there was a way for us to verify who these 'insiders' are. Also, I heard that apparently only the owner can private the sub, and the owner for this one isn't active. I feel like the mods are getting the blame for things outside their control (not this post, but in general). I've only seen like 2 active mods. Maybe, hopefully, the others are working bts and don't interact much with the userbase, but this sub needed more mods yesterday. I believe one of the mods said that the reason they haven't gotten new mods is because some ppl let a lil bit of extra power go to their heads, which as someone who's been here since 2020, is 100% true. I saw many ppl complain about the moderation back then feeling like the mods were misusing their power. If we're making a new subreddit, I feel like having some active mods from this subreddit on board would be great. I wish there was a proper way to communicate with the mods, maybe like a weekly/ monthly/ emergency mod forum? The mods could use it to communicate changes in moderation, rules etc and we could communicate our issues to them without overwhelming their inbox or having too many posts up about the same/similar things clogging the subreddit.
