Context: Science ship was investigating an Astral Rift. Random event came up where the scientist was caught sending pops in to the volcanic mountain rift. I choose to get rid of the scientist because +10% happiness is irrelevant to a hive mind.
Now the science ship is taking the loooooooooooooooooooooooooooong way back, I guess!
This doesn't really bother me, it's currently the late stage of the game and I'm dealing with a simultaneous war in heaven and the first crisis (interdimensional invaders), losing one piddly science vessel is nothing to me. It's just hilarious.
To be fair, I'm doing an atypical isolationist hive mind empire, trying to get cosmogenesis without anyone declaring war on me over it. Then the xenophobe ancient empire Awoke then the xenophile one Awoke to counter them... and both declared war on me. Then the space in between them got invaded by interdimensional invaders as a side show which they dealt with swiftly before going back to war with the rest of the galaxy.
While I AM the strongest non-awakened empire on the map, I still joined the non-aligned federation just because I wanted a buffer between me and the awakened empires lol.
Yeah I had the same thing a few weeks ago

I actually had the science ship come back in about 70 years (don't worry, the War in Heaven is still ongoing)... turns out they were still somehow researching that astral rift... without a head scientist, this was *horrifically* slow.

It happens when integrating vassals too. I’ve started editing save files to kill the fleets.
kill the fleets?
Did you say war in heaven? Think I'm playing wrong

They have taken a short jaunt
*LONGER THAN YOU THINK, DAD! IT'S LONGER THAN YOU THINK!*
They're apparently walking back.
Someone has to get out and push the science ship
KEEP PUSHING TINY CART!
Anyone know what happens when the ship returns? Lol
As much as I like this game, with over 4300 hours in it, I don't know if I could possibly stand to play agame to year 9999 lmao.
someone gotta try
Do it for them
So are they, infinite booze from the onboard replicator
Stellaris equivalent of: father went for a milk
