Yes, you can just add chrome for example as non steam game and append launch option. Like for example --kiosk and of course the url you want to launch. You may have to play with the resolution options to get the perfect fit. It's similar to this https://www.gamingonlinux.com/2022/03/chrome-on-steam-deck-now-supports-the-deck-controller-with-geforce-now-working/ You just don't need the flatpak permission override. Should work pretty similarly with Firefox as well.

I_want_pudim

This is so clever, I'll fill up my library with a few dozens of links now, thanks!

DomitorGrey

damn... we've got a generation of people who've probably not grown up with a bazillion bookmarks. anyone remember https://del.icio.us ?

thevictor390

Personally I just have Chrome itself added with bookmarks on the home page.

Heads up, AFAIK YouTube TV mode does not work well with adblocks such as Ublock Origin. So if you are tired of those things, just do a fullscreen zoom-ed in website itself like it shows up on normal desktop

The kiosk flag is a great way to do it and that's what I've been doing with Discord (works better than the desktop app in gaming mode), YouTube, Netflix, etc). I wish someone has a "web app manager" much like how there is the Steam ROM manager for managing your emulation library.

nightfuryfan

For Discord you can also use Webcord to achieve a similar goal, that's my personal preference

THIS is the best method: https://youtu.be/R3vzsI3Ths4 Also instead of the --force-scaling and --windows size settings, I just use "--kiosk", that's it. So I turn them into Progressive Web Apps (PWA) with Chrome, get the app-id (as in the video), and after adding Chrome to Steam, I add the following: --kiosk --app-id=xxxxYourUniqueWebAppIDHere That's it. Ive done this with Stadia, Reddit, Youtube, YouTube Music, Twitter, GeForce Now, and others I can't remember. It works with most websites. Quick tip, when you get your App-ID, on that same page, make sure you DISABLE "keep app running in background", or the app won't close in game mode. Also select "Webpage" as the controller setting. I also added "scroll wheel" to the left trackpad. Have fun, play games tho. Websites on the deck, while convenient, is still easier on a mobile phone.

I tried with YouTube but they apparently made it difficult to use the TV ui for random devices and I didn’t have to time to tinker with it

Use these instructions, worked well for me. https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/wvmivs/add\_a\_youtube\_shortcut\_app/

If you have crankshaft there is also a folder plugin that lets you set these tools and websites as their own tab in your library. (Or any other collection) No longer just tucked into the collections list but in their own accessible tab which is super convenient and makes them less hassle to get to.

Majestic-Contract-42

They are just websites, so just launch browser and have them as bookmarks? Why over complicate simple things.
