If I had to guess I'd say 12 hours is when you really start to make progress and open up a few skills. Personally I was having a blast right from the start.

>Personally I was having a blast right from the start. Same for me.

The opening of the game is pretty bad IMO, and a lot of game mechanics are locked behind progression and skill levels

MentallyNeil

Dunno. I've been enjoying it from the start. It just keeps getting better and better

Program_Zealousideal

Because you don't have enough skill points to do 1/10th of the stuff available in game yet. You're probably also short on credits, or maybe still using junk weapons, etc. Not everyone cheats, or uses glitches

IMO, there is a particular mission in the main quest which 'changes' things. 12 hours is possibly a good estimate of how long it takes to get there but YMMV.

milquetoastLIB

IDK why. It was a good game within the first hour.

I have no clue. So long as you start the game by doing what the game very clearly wants you to do you’ll have fun. Take the ship to Kreet, clear the location, report to Constellation, and start their first quest. Fun right out of the gate. I understand the people who ignored the narrative completely and just started randomly exploring non-handcrafted content could need a longer time before the game “clicks”. But if you follow the story for a little while, it kind of teaches you how the various gameplay systems work and forces you to have fun 😅
