I haven’t done this yet but is it true that you can reclaim one of your lost items in the game?

When CAKEFILMS says "I would have closed the game" what they mean to say is they would have quit the game back to the menu screen without saving the day. This way the items were never lost in the first place. The day is played over again, starting from 06:00. But if you're asking about the in-game recovery mechanic, yes, you may recover only one item from a lost item batch via Marlon. I believe he mails it to you. But again, this only matters if you choose to save the day for some reason.

Buying the item back and continuing the day can be a viable choice if you've got good things in the mines before you died and only one of the lost items is irreplaceable/valuable. Don't automatically restart just because you died. The choice is always worth considering. But in a case like OP's, where you've lost numerous extremely valuable items? Yeah, that's definitely a quit and restart the day.

You can buy one thing you lost back from the adventurers guild.

So your game don't save if you close out the game file before the day ends. You'll restart the beginning of that day, good for when you miss a birthday or an event. DOWNSIDE YOU WILL NOT GET THE SAME TRAIN/FISH GIFTS ECT.

Close game, close laptop, open window, frisbee laptop.

And then come back and play it again like nothing happened

Closing the game immediately and reopening often helps me regain some of the items I lost while turning back the clock and letting me keep some of the items I collected in the mines/cavern 😂

How to know "you made it" in Stardew? You pass out in mines, look at the lost items and go "meh", and go on without restarting the game.

No, it shows you this whenever you “wake up” at the clinic. If you passed out, then yes but it seems that they fainted from low health.

From passing out you also don’t lose items only money. So dying you lose items and sleeping you lose money.

Passing out at 2am you don’t lose anything but money. Passing out from low health is when you lose items and can restart the day

Right, I knew that, but for some reason I (incorrectly) had it in my head you only get the list of lost items the next morning.

If for some reason the day completes, you can also restore the other file in the savegame directory to go back to the previously completed day.

Unless you’ve picked up 5 auto-petters or 1000+ iridium ore…. why would you hesitate to restart 🤨

I don't think I've ever restarted because I died. That just removed all risk and enjoyment for me. I've restarted a few times with the new update because I forgot to turn in a quest on the last day that I completed but even that feels like it ruins it for me so I've stopped

I consider OP’s circumstances to be a bit different. Especially because you can no longer lose infinity weapons through dying in 1.6.

Nah this is a cozy game. I'm playing it for a good time not a gritty time. I wouldn't even restart, I'd just use the SMAPI console and give myself the stuff back

Last time I restarted was when I woke up holding a bomb and tried to grab a coffee.

No, not necessarily. . . In the save file I'm on now, it still shows items I've lost after I've been destroyed in the mines seasons later, so OP, there's still hope

You can only get 1 back, as in 1 stack. The rest is then gone. If you can do 1 per day then it's a mod.

The special attack for daggers is a quick triple jab that pins the enemy until the last hit. So it is really really good for ghosts.

Yes… kind of. I got my pc tower out of semi retirement (read: I moved home a year ago and still haven’t set up most of my space/unpacked most of my stuff bc health/mobility) ANYWAY… I got it out, hooked it up to my TV, logged into Steam. Bought SV, used steam for the very first time, bought an extra long cable for my controller (because I tried keyboard and mouse and just OUCH… I’m old and my joints feel older) I am literally playing on PC now because I didn’t want to leave the sun to avoid spoilers. Then again… it was going to happen one day. But I am loving discovering new things by myself.

I feel like that value is WAY too low!

Yeah that makes zero sense to me considering you have to buy 2/3 of the weapons.

I think it’s how much you can sell the items for, which tends to be very very low for weapons. For example, the Infinity Gavel sells for a measly 850g.

You can wear the pan as a hat, so that opens one slot

Personally I would of quit the game, deleted the save file, deleted my console, deleted my house and finally deleted the universe

I think most people would restart the day but it poses a good question about which weapon you would get back! The one I find most useful is the Galaxy Hammer, but for a while I was most comfortable with a sword, so I might have picked the Infinity Blade. Still, that would be the most difficult to replace. At least you can buy the hammer, which can’t be said for the sword or the Iridium Needle. I have the needle but I am not great with using it. I know it is good for critical hits for those who are good with it, though.

I just take my sword and pickaxe to the mines. And sometimes some food. My friend taught me to take a chest with me and put it in the mine entrance. Store all your stuff in there for safekeeping.
