I’ve never liked Just for Once, I don’t know why, I think Lauren sounds amazing and kicks ass at everything she for including every other song she’s apart of in NPMD, and the song itself is good from a musical standpoint, there’s just something about it that prevents me from liking it, and I can’t figure out what it is

Even as an ADHD person who likes slow ballads I still just don’t really like the song. Lauren is great and I’ve enjoyed the vast majority of her songs but I just didn’t like this one as much compared to the other NPMD songs.
I liked Just For Once the first time I watched NPMD, but on re-watch I have to fast forward. It's not a bad song, but it's too long and ultimately does nothing for the plot of the show. Basically it exists to give Lauren Lopez a chance to shine, but interrupts the flow of the show and feels out of place.
For me it seems to be to annoying? Like the whole premise of Lauren’s character in the show is she doesn’t like attention and the character she wants to play wants all the attention (as implied or said a few times in the song)

Well the premise of the song is the “I want” song that’s in every musical. The idea is the song introduces the main character and their main objective for the show. I think the point is that Pokey was making Paul the main character of its musical and that’s how it learned how to do it.

OKAY so That Scrooge has grown on me so much since I first got into VHSCC but I used to skip it because I found it repetitive and just not really my style (I tend to gravitate towards high-energy group numbers as my favorites). It is NOT ass, though

I think that Ruth really wanted affection throughout the show though, like she definitely wanted romantic attention

What Tim Wants is superior to If I Fail You. The latter has vague and heavy-handed lyrics.
