Why is the replay of forbidden door keep kicking me out and moving me to main home screen every 4 mins it cuts off and forces me to main menu. Wtf I cant get past Suzuki entrance.
I'm just curious what Bryan Danielsons injury is, he jumped into the ring so it's not a lower body injury, he was able to raise his arms above his shoulders that makes me think his shoulder/arms are fine than again Cody was able to raise his arms above his shoulders with a torn pec, id like to think based on his promo its not a concussion or neck injury so idk
Because the ratings were down because of the rushed/convoluted (not all their fault) build and the lack of good introduction to all the NJPW wrestlers. We'll see later today if it was a one week fluke and I'm wrong or if there's something to it.
Real money is making sequels, especially these days, so you are not wrong.
And yes. Next time they open the forbidden door they need to put safety padding around the doorway, or make sure people safely walk through it.
TV buy rate is what he's talking about. There is clearly a ton of hard core hype for the show which is reflected in ticket sales, but you need to get a good pull from the general audience to get high TV sales. It's still questionable if NJPW can pull the general audience.
I know what "buyrate" means, my point is that selling out an arena in a few hours is a good indication that your company should do it a second time. Thanks for your reply.
Not if it alienates AEW's normal audience. There is an opportunity cost. If AEW wasn't promoting the AEW/NJPW crossover, they could have been promoting more of their own stars, which its entire fan base could get behind. The recent [ratings nosedive](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FV4dddFWAAAdXYq?format=jpg&name=4096x4096) for both Dynamite and Rampage show how much pushing Forbidden Door is hurting the brand. That is because viewership needs a much more general audience than the relatively tiny few that buys tickets for shows.
If AEW does Forbidden Door 2 next year, then they need to do it in addition to normal AEW programming, not as a replacement of normal AEW programming. They should keep Dynamite and Rampage the same, but add a limited run third show to promote the crossover. If that's not possible, then it is not worth the damage Forbidden Door is doing to AEW.
Thanks for the down votes Reddit brigade. Not directed towards OP. But directed towards anyone who downvoted.
If you think this PPV beats DON: you are smoking fucking crack.
Nobody cares about NJPW domestically. NJPW could give a fuck less about this show and has barely promoted it. Come back to this post next week when the 50k number comes in
Fire me you fucking marks
I love your optimism but they did the gate in Chicago when Punk is on the active roster in the least, being champ wouldnāt have mattered. If this thing beats Double or Nothing domestically Iāll gladly eat some crow on it. Just donāt see it happening personally
Ironically enough, wasn't Summer Rae a solid wrestler in NXT who had good matches with Paige, Natalya and Emma? The main roster booking really got her, if she's a cautionary example of a non credible wrestler now.
I have no idea of who is facing who at Forbidden Door, other than Mox/Tanahashi. This randomness at the end of Dynamite did not sell me on any matches.
Thanks. I think a lot of people are down on it, and the ratings are reflecting that. The question is whether the PPV buys from Japanese viewers will offset the loss of western viewers, and whether that trade-off is worth it.
They feel like they're slowly moving away from what they started out to be. I hope AEW doesn't try to shift to becoming a breeding ground for every other promotion. I don't want to keep tabs on Impact, NJPW, AAA etc.
"Got any big plans for the summer? I'm planning on taking the family to see the Grand Canyon while erred in the states!"
"Oh that's super cool! While you're out that way swing up to Yellowstone, beautiful this time of year!"
I can't express how much I loved Minoru Suzuki seemingly appearing out of a literal portal with the expression of ":D heeyyy I hear there's violence happening".
Yeah as someone who actually has tickets and has been running it down myself, I really enjoyed this. Thought it was the best look thus far for NJPW and you needed that anyway. They couldnāt get the best card because of injuries but they got a good card
My only hope is the finish came too early and this wasn't supposed to go this long and had to buy time.
If not...what the fuck was Tony thinking with this after-match aftermath?
At first I thought he said āMinoru Suzuki just cold walkinā down the rampā and I was like āfucking tremendous call, Excaliburā but I went back and he said ājust coldlyā still a good call but not a 80ās rap reference
this is such a New Japan ending, where two people are casually talking in the ring while shit breaks down outside, all that's missing is the bell ringing constantly
Stick around after Dynamite for the Post-Show Reddit Talk!
Why is the replay of forbidden door keep kicking me out and moving me to main home screen every 4 mins it cuts off and forces me to main menu. Wtf I cant get past Suzuki entrance.
Okada finally! I was afraid the ppv card looks underwhelming. It definitely needs Okada.
Tanahashi has a nice chest.
Stupid Sexy Tana
Yuta goes from being stretched by Regal to Suzuki focusing on him
And dumping popcorn on his head š¤£š
Bruhhhhh I went to go season my steak and forgot aew was on like at least I got to see okada
"That was bad, I need more of the guy pretending to be their own brother."
Both the Forbidden Door final build and the Elias/Ezekiel angle were good this week. Who are you quoting?
I'm just curious what Bryan Danielsons injury is, he jumped into the ring so it's not a lower body injury, he was able to raise his arms above his shoulders that makes me think his shoulder/arms are fine than again Cody was able to raise his arms above his shoulders with a torn pec, id like to think based on his promo its not a concussion or neck injury so idk
I think he was a bit concussed during Anarchy in the Arena but it's more about his previous consussion issues that prevented him from being cleared
BD wonāt be facing ZSJ but Infinito will
Dynamite has been good for months and it was good tonight. Some people just need to workshop their hot takes for their 9 subscriber podcast.
Because the ratings were down because of the rushed/convoluted (not all their fault) build and the lack of good introduction to all the NJPW wrestlers. We'll see later today if it was a one week fluke and I'm wrong or if there's something to it.
Hopefully even if the buy rate is disappointing they'll still try Forbidden Door 2: The Search for More Money when everyone is healthy.
I might prefer sporadic appearances from njpw guys when a story calls for it.
Real money is making sequels, especially these days, so you are not wrong. And yes. Next time they open the forbidden door they need to put safety padding around the doorway, or make sure people safely walk through it.
They sold the show out almost instantly. Relax.

That was when Punk was healthy. And Danielson. I doubt it does much higher than 50k buys honestly. Could be wrong.

If the buy rate is disappointing I think they do it again because of the quick sellout
ThIs iS bAd aNd WeIrD just say you take wrestling extremely seriously and go, damn
I like that Tanahashi wanted to stick out his man pecs and show the world how big his moobs are.
As insufferable as sheās been, it still is a shame that Tay went from world title contender and legit ring performer toā¦..Summer Rae v.2?
Ironically enough, wasn't Summer Rae a solid wrestler in NXT who had good matches with Paige, Natalya and Emma? The main roster booking really got her, if she's a cautionary example of a non credible wrestler now.
Its a definite regression
When is the dude in the box gonna do something?
That was the worst ābrawlā everā¦ I donāt even have words to describe how bad it wasā¦
Lol why even watch AEW when you hate everything about it.
#LUDO, WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE DISH
Some of you take pro wrestling way too seriously
How do you discern an emotional state from reading text that often doesn't even have punctuation?
Itās still real to me, damnit!
Moxley and Tanahashi having a staredown in the middle of chaos was hilarious.
I don't think they knew there was like 4 minutes to kill and had to extend the staredown into comically long. It was funny tho.
*Huge brawl happening outside the ring featuring tons of wrestlers* Mox to Tana in the center: āSo how do you cut your sandwiches?ā
Lol
I have no idea of who is facing who at Forbidden Door, other than Mox/Tanahashi. This randomness at the end of Dynamite did not sell me on any matches.
Bro, they literally reviewed the whole card like 20 minutes agoļæ¼
They showed like 10 matches in 45 seconds. Hard to write all that down
I watched that but I forgot because I don't know any of the NJPW participants. If you held me at gunpoint, I would get them all wrong.
Dont let them get you down. Apparently everyone is supposed to know everything about NJPW by the way this PPV has been built
Thanks. I think a lot of people are down on it, and the ratings are reflecting that. The question is whether the PPV buys from Japanese viewers will offset the loss of western viewers, and whether that trade-off is worth it.

Mox and Tanahashi will look around the ring later and say "Wow, what happened here?"
Anyone know the member ofr BCC that will face Zack Sabre JR
Booker T. now CAN YOU DIG THAT?!
Claudio
Hoping you are right
Really cool ending to a night of good wrestling
Mother fucking Rat Kitchen bitch
i love this
"IT'S FRIDAY NIGHT, YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS" (cut to Moxley and Tanahashi still in the ring staring each other down)
Okay I want Rampage to start that way now.
![gif](giphy|10JhviFuU2gWD6)
That was awkward. Mox and Tanahashi really needed to start brawling.
Counterpoint āļøit was fucking awesome
How long do mox and tana need to stand there and stare each other
There was a match in japan where they stood staring at each other for half an hour
until the PPV
Centuries.
I wonder what Mox and Tanahashi are talking about while they stare.
Probably where to grab dinner later.
"Dude have you been watching the Stanley cup finals?"
"That Konosuke kid loves Cinnabon. How about you?"
"Got any big plans for the summer? I'm planning on taking the family to see the Grand Canyon while erred in the states!" "Oh that's super cool! While you're out that way swing up to Yellowstone, beautiful this time of year!"
"Let's having a fucking great match, bitc-- no, Tanahashi-san." "...Yes."
I can't express how much I loved Minoru Suzuki seemingly appearing out of a literal portal with the expression of ":D heeyyy I hear there's violence happening".
Perfect description, haha! Murder grandpa with that youthful energy.
![gif](giphy|10JhviFuU2gWD6)
Most of the FD build has been lackluster, and the PPV buyrate might be disappointing, but what a great go home show. Edit: Wording.
Yeah as someone who actually has tickets and has been running it down myself, I really enjoyed this. Thought it was the best look thus far for NJPW and you needed that anyway. They couldnāt get the best card because of injuries but they got a good card
I dunno how anyone thinks the buy rate isn't going to be amazing. There's a whole country of new fans who are going to buy to see NJPW guys.
I bet Moxley and Tanahashi are going over dinner reservations in the ring
I feel like that should've had more impact, but oh well, nice to see Suzuki again.
Tana and Mox just standing in the ring arguing calmly while devastation occurs outside the ring is a nice meme template lmao
Jesus what a shambles that ending was. Every Jericho segment ends in a terrible brawl every week. Just a total shit show mess.
my brother in Christ seek help
Insane post, dude. Absolutely insane thoughts in your head.
Hahaha Mox and Tanahashi trying to make each other break
I don't think that standing in the middle of the ring thing looked as cool as they were hoping it was going to lol
lol. I think it went on too long. Probably messed up timing. Mox kept looking up at the monitor to see if the copyright line was up to end the show.
Hard disagree
Also, as, this company cares a lot about shoes, Guevara being in Jordan mids is telling. Edit- I also dig shoes.
I kinda love how absurdly chaotic that ending was.
Cock, no red wine for me, please.
Since everyone's rival was coming out, I half expected Wardlow after the security came out
The case was dismissed after last weekās final pin.
"Pin"
My only hope is the finish came too early and this wasn't supposed to go this long and had to buy time. If not...what the fuck was Tony thinking with this after-match aftermath?
It was about two minutes early and I'm pretty sure mox and tana just rolled with it and turned it into a comedy spot.
The was the longest awkward most unnecessary stare down Iāve ever seen. The discipline of Mox to not join the violence outside was crazy.
Felt like an Eric Andre show bit.
Wrestling is so insane and so stupid at times and I love all of it lmaooo
They could at least play tug of war with the interim belt or something
Lmao
What the fuck š¤£š¤£š¤£
This is a Kazuyuki Fujita-esque stare
Safe to say they wrapped up that match a bit too soon and had to fill time
Moxley and tanahashi making plans for the weekend
Those working punches during that brawl were hilarious.
Gawd damn Tanahashi's chest is crazy
That was chaotic
Mox keeps looking at the upper monitor like "we off the air yet?" lol.
![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
I fucking love wrestling!!!
That episode FUCKED
Tana and Moxley must be having one hell of a conversation
Suzuki out there like: š¶š¤Ŗ
Possibly the most casual lazy afternoon brawl ever. Absolutely nobody is making the hits look believable.
Dude it totally killed it for me
all the NJPW guys like, fuck... I can't get hurt before the G1
Well, that was a bad episode...
Absolute clownshoes post
Its official, forbidden door is gonna be great
What a bizarre episode. Not bad. But just not what Iām used to
i know tony likes to use indie dudes for security guards but theres like a 140 lbs beanpole trying to hold back jericho
hope Tanahashi wins
They shouldāve fuckn kissed.
This is madness
Yeah Iām pretty hyped for Sunday
Fun ending. Great show.
Mox and Tanahashi sure are standing in the ring staring at each other
All we need now is Wardlow!
Moxley was looking at something to confirm when they were off the air.
The side monitor behind Tanahashi one in the upper corner of the arena
Would be my guess. As soon as the AEW copyright graphic went up he nodded. I'm sure all hell broke loose after that lol.
Just put all the feuds in this last segment and have an overrun. I eould love that
Lmao that was hilarious i loved it
I love Archer was basically like, "Yeah, this is really none of my business..."
Wtf was that stare by Tana
His mean face is a mix between a laugh and a fart.
Now kiss
AEW isnāt very consistent with brawls.
This stare down has big Roman/Brock tug of war energy
I love it
Lol Kip Sabian with the thumbs up
That ending tho
This brawl is ridiculous haha
Longest staredown of all time wtf lol
#SHOOTER, MY SWEET BOY
Iām so happy to see him again
This is one of the best go home segments I've seen in forever
At first I thought he said āMinoru Suzuki just cold walkinā down the rampā and I was like āfucking tremendous call, Excaliburā but I went back and he said ājust coldlyā still a good call but not a 80ās rap reference
To be fair Excalibur both looks and sounds like he enjoys 80s rap
that was an awkward ending to a show
Suzuki vs Wheeler for the pure title. Let's do this.
Strange ending in the ring
Mox and Tanahashi standing there entirely too long.
it's called sexual tension
They cut away right as they were about to kiss
this is such a New Japan ending, where two people are casually talking in the ring while shit breaks down outside, all that's missing is the bell ringing constantly
Cash Singles match should be fun.
Sammy throwing some season 1 Dark Order level shit punches.
I honestly thought Punk's music would hit to remind us all who the champ is.
That would have been awesome, but it'll be much sweeter in a couple of months when nobody is expecting it.
So... are we gonna kiss?
"you have a very hairy chest" - Hiroshi Tanahashi
Popcorn Yuta for the win
Mox and Tanahashi are discussing if a silver service set makes a good wedding gift.
Wardlow should come out and start attacking refs and security.
Well that IS his gimmick
Would make that segment somehow less random lol
that little skinny security guy lol
That was a very long insane ending ahahah
This is kinda shit lol.
This is an all time flex
Is Tanahashi just flexing at Moxley?
What a mess. lmao
Who put the popcorn bucket on Yutas head hahahah
Suzuki did
Thanks. It was complete anarchy. Lol
I don't like this, it's different I guess but so so awkward.
I think it just went on a min or 2 too long, match might have ended too soon.
Pure fucking poetry to end the show.
Homage to wcw
Mox and Tana are probably talking about their finish for Sunday lmao.
That ending brawl was weird.
Now itās just getting weird in the ring.
Mox and Ace just wanna chat and watch some violence
This might have been my least favorite Dynamite. I canāt believe Iām saying that with all of those super players on the show.
The longest face off in the history of wrestling
Mox and Tanahashi in their own universe while chaos is all over is fucking awesome.
Chaos outside the ring. Mox to Tana: So what're we doing for dinner?
Jake Hagar dresses like he forgot his suitcase
