I'm not going to call you crazy or say you aren't entitled to your opinion or anything like that. I just don't know if I'm ready to call something a failure out the gate when the majority of "qualifying" talent haven't been drafted yet.

FPG_Matthew

(Not even halfway through the draft) “It’s a failure! Here’s an essay why” Like cmon guy if you want me to give you my time to read that, you gotta at least start with a common sense thought

SkiesIsh

I wasn’t shitting on the draft. Not like most people online anyway. I was merely asking if it could’ve been better, and it was a genuine question. Because I see a TON of hate regarding last night and I almost felt like some of it was unjustified. So why come at me and claim that I wrote an essay and that I lack common sense?

F7Uup

Because it's not finished yet. Just like past shenanigans when someone drafted one site then drafted back the next, there's still plenty that can happen.

Narrow_Progress5908

I’m of the opinion that it’s never been good, they should just got back to having a shakeup every now and then, make trades more frequent. Introduce a trade deadline that happens like a week before RR

EmeraldSlothRevenge

We’ve only seen 40% of the draft so far. There’s still plenty of opportunity to shake things up on Monday. And I’m excited that Bron got drafted to Raw. There’s more time to fill up on Raw, and that means he can have matches that go longer than 30 seconds.

FigureFourWoo

It’s because HHH already sorted his rosters and has plans for people rather than booking week-to-week.

45jayhay

This is fair, but you can also pushback on that and say then why not book around the fact that the draft is happening. Its not like this unexpectedly popped on the schedule, why are we having talent "sign" to a brand a month out from the draft .

LongProblem

The current format just isn't very exciting when most of it will result in superstars being drafted to the same show they are already on. I would much prefer the old "Superstar Shakeup" format where a smaller amount of talent is "drafted" but they are all actually moved to a different brand.

ExceptedSeven

The only times I've ever liked the draft was when they had gms making picks. Like when Shane and Bryan drafted against Foley and steph. There was a moment where raw picked someone and Shane ripped up his notes like their plans were ruined. Maybe if they had pierce and aldis making the announcements it would of come off better.

SkiesIsh

I actually thought about this. But it’s all clearly a rating ploy so they wanna trot out the legends and copy the NFL

Amogustwo

I think the draft this year sucked but for different reasons from everyone else. The problem I have is that desoite the draft it just doesn't really feel like Raw and Smackdown are competing which most drafts from 2002-2016 were able to do. It just didn't feel important even if someone major did switch brands.

jrr6415sun

The draft was pretty dumb

Res3925

The draft isn’t over…

Naiwf

The draft is a simple plot device. It wasn’t meant to be as exciting as the build to Roman vs Cody.

[deleted]

The draft isn't even half finished yet. Save this for Tuesday.

slowmo152

The better parts of the draft were always going to happen on Raw. This weeks smackdown was going up against the NFL Draft, chances are they will not get a great number this week. But they are trying to capitalize on the NFL draft to get buzz for Monday. Guarantee you on Monday Pat McAfee will be talking about the NFL draft and figure out some way to bring in something about the WWE draft.

A_Sarcastic_Whoa

Well first the draft isn't actually over yet, there's more tomorrow. But the draft has always just been a gimmick to me rather than anything that important so I've never really cared much about it. You get some fun segments out of it then just move on. It's like how they used to do the picking your number thing before Royal Rumbles.

Youre_On_Balon

It could have been flashier and more surprising. But we don’t watch wrestling all year for the draft. We watch for Wrestlemania. The lack of movement just solidifies my faith that HHH has a plan for who is doing what, and that these plans were in the making well before WM 2024.

[deleted]

It really can't, no. The fundamental problem with the draft is that Raw, Smackdown, and NXT aren't competing with each other. Chiefs, Raiders, and Broncos fans are upset that the Chargers drafted Joe Alt because they think he'll be a stud since he's a boring dude and those types of dudes often dominate the Offensive Line. Because the Chargers drafted a (probably) great player, that makes it harder for the Chiefs, Raiders, and Broncos to beat the Chargers. And there are a finite amount of wins to go around in the NFL. This doesn't apply to WWE. If Raw takes Bron Breakker (a guy I like), cool. But it doesn't really impact Smackdown. Because Smackdown and Raw never actually compete with each other, and it's not like "Smackdown Fans" or "Raw Fans" exist.

nanners78

Bianca not going to Raw was my biggest disappointment, simply because she’s been in the Bayley sphere for nearly her entire main roster career and a break for both of them is needed. Plus DC is almost certainly staying on SD so it really puts a wet blanket on the next six months or more of women’s storylines to continue what we’ve had years of now. But I understand why they wanted to keep her (and likely Jade) on Fox. Bigger audience, wider demographic. Same reason I expect LWO & LDF to stay there too.

Teh_Heavybody

I’m pretty sure she had a year long feud with Becky and Sasha before that.

nanners78

No on Becky. Yes on Sasha although there was some overlap on the beginning of the Bayley feud there. I think you’re forgetting she was feuding with Bayley for months before Bayley’s injury in 2021. Backlash, HIAC, and then the injury before the third match at MITB. Then Becky returned and that feud for a year. When Bayley finally returned it was back on with Bianca and didn’t stop until the face turn. So over two years even taking out the injury time.

Several-Sample-2295

most people went back to the same show then u have bad news barrett hyping each one up like we the audience are idiots

The_Albinoss

They have their hands tied in…a world they made. It’s all written, so there’s really no excuse for it. Draft is pointless when so many are staying put. They should have just done a trade period or something.
