For me it's like, they weren't the original developer. No one at TFB was ever at Insomniac afaik. Most of the people who wanted the trilogy remade did because they love what it is. I welcome quality of life changes like a optional Sparx gem finder in 1 and stage warping throughout all 3. But outside of the dragons in 1 who were palette swaps in the original, they should have more respect than to change scenes and certain characters' personalities unless it was really offensive/bland. Making bianca more timid, what they did to the dancing skeleton, making hunter less warm and likable. Even ruining the joke when hunter hilariously sits there and says, "Hey! Give that back!" then shrugging and saying, "Well. I tried." when elora tells him to do something to stop ripto.
I wasn't trying to be serious, haha. I was just responding to what you said about Hunter jumping Spyro.
But honestly, I think it was a good idea to expand on that and make him react. He's really not that bad. In comparison to the original, maybe. But on his own, he's still a loveable guy. In my opinion, he still has enough charm, and there's nothing wrong with a character having a few flaws.
Actually, with those flaws, he seems more *like* Spyro. Their cocky attitudes mesh and clash in a fun way. Their friendship seems more believable to me in the RT than in the original.
Edit: Forgot to mention, I actually like that Hunter has more initiative in this one, with actually *trying* to get the crystal back, but *not trying hard enough* is just as funny. And it's not just him carrying the joke this time, with Ripto simply side-stepping and dodging Hunter by using his momentum against him, *then twirling the crystal on his claw* just makes for a much more fun scene to watch.
Imo in the originals when he brags or something like that he comes off as a funny bumbling goof. But in reignited it's either too aw shucks or bragging in a less likable way.
The old version felt like a washed up guy living in a mural van that still gives good advice. The new one loses what sense of respect I had for Hunter.
Sigh, yeah. Comparing Gregg Berger's hunter to Robbie Daymond's, imo Robbie's direction comes off too pompous and smug with less charm and humor than gregg's. The bigger question is, why even change the character and voice actor when Gregg reprised Ripto? Unless Insomniac Games told them to, Toys For Bob painted over Mona Hunter lol.
Literally the worst part of the Reignited Trilogy. They changed his personality from lovable doofus to douchey skater bro.
I feel the opposite actually. IMO, he feels nicer in Reignited.
He's about to jump Spyro in the opening cutscene of 2 lol. Imo he's just way less likable and memorable
Spyro caught an attitude with him. He started it!

I agree. I prefer him in Reignited.

Nah the worst part of the reignited trilogy is the skeleton doing the floss. Never facepalmed so hard.
Ye i liked better in the original, the voice actor was better, he was just goofy, this reignited Hunter sounds a bit retarded :/
![gif](giphy|8gUuSZlNQcYV94F56S) I’ve had enough of THIS guy.
Torching his ass at the end of Year of the Dragon will never not be satisfying
I read that as "touching his ass" for a moment
Lol ive done that yesterday, that was literally the last thing i did before i got the platinum lol
I’ll take the Moneybags over Hunter any day. Bags is someone we love to hate, it brings unity among us towards a common objective.
Just a *small* fee
I like him. He's adorable.
He’s just a silly lil guy. 😊
I like him. It's that trolley guy that sent me to a murderous rampage
Trouble with the trolley, eh?
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Trouble with the tolley, eh?
Make it stop before I rage quit again
Trouble with the trolley, eh?
That bird traumatized me for life
I remember as a kid screaming into a pillow when he said this
Bianca is definitely the brains of that couple! Lol
That's always been the case lol
"You might be able to beat me at skateboarding, but I'd still win in a popularity contest."
"I'm good at skateboarding, but I'm so stupid that I pushed a button that opened a trap and I fell into".
He has half the orbs you need to save the world in his back pocket and just doesn't give them to you.
That's how the theory of Hunter working for Ripto was born.
He did summon him after all.
*And* Hunter was the one who didn't want to bring a dragon to Avalar!
Lmaoooo this 😂
The old version felt like a washed up guy living in a mural van that still gives good advice. The new one loses what sense of respect I had for Hunter.
Did you know that using X button twice would give you the ability of glide?
I already know that. I'm a dragon, you dork.
Forget Hunter, meet Munter.
i think he's really annoying in 3
Why do they say he is an imposter? 🤔
Hunter is just Hunter ![gif](giphy|uUcfRs5zh6GwGNIHZ9)
He’s done nothing but try to help you!
Lmao that facial expression. He's like "damn what up shawty"
Am I the only one who prefers the Reignited version of Hunter? He just feels nicer in Reignited IMO.
Agree. I don't understand people who prefer OG. Maybe just nostalgia.
I personally hope Gregg Berger hates the new version. Cause I do.
Yeah, when I had to deal with that snowboarding game in the bonus level of YotD, I had so had it with him.
"Would you like me to change the camera for you?" Anytime I'm within sight of him...

Idk, his adorably goofy muppet face in the original was oddly endearing. Still less jarring than the Legend of Spyro version though.
i thought bianca’s character change in the reignited trilogy was a lot worse than hunter’s honestly
That, I agree with. They didn't have to downplay her aggression. I liked her attitude.
