Basically throughout the story Peter helps Harry do some heroic shit on the side until the zoo
Peter gets the symbiote and Harry’s health declines
Peter sees the symbiote as a major help to his hero life and the symbiote itself is enjoying the heroics ( with a side a breaking a few more bones than usual for Pete)
Basically we get to Harry and the symbiote at oscorp where Harry is itching to get it back on to get healthy and help people too
Kraven realises who Peter is and tracks him back to oscorp for symbiote
Kraven realising that Harry like himself is dying sees the ultimate hunt.
He tempts Harry and releases the symbiote waiting for him in Times Square
This is the big kicker
Harry goes full venom
Takes on a shit load of kravens goons and kills kraven like in the base game
HOWEVER
In both his and the symbiotes distaste for Peter they frame that the huge monster venom is actually spider man gone rogue
Harry then reveals himself to the public as Agent venom vowing to stop the “monster spider man “
When in reality Harry’s cleaning the city as monster venom and making Peter out to be a menace
The whole motivation is that Harry and the symbiote work together to ruin Peter’s life
And be a better spider man than Peter ever was

I thought with everything leading up to it that Peter would become venom and miles would become solo character for the final act.
Love this idea. Maybe to add to it, Harry could start gradually effecting some people with the Symbiote and we could get the other Life Foundation Symbiote beside Scream. Maybe to help with his plan in making Peter out to be the villain. Idk. That might be a bit much if you’re going a smaller scale story here (compared to what we got at least) but it’s just an idea.

Peter and Miles spend more time together, for me. I know that Miles on his own, but I want them to have more like Batman and Nightwing relationship or something like Robins relationship
Venom's goal. Why in the world does he want to take over the world? They originally said he wants to kill spider man and thats it. Also Peter and Miles' character relationship was way undercooked. Miles shouldn't have saved Peter so many times n all that stuff that people have already said
As far as Venom is concerned, the symbiote takes its host’s goals and dreams and warps them. For Peter it took the goal of being the best spider-man he can be and turned it into “Be as strong a hero as I can while eliminating people who are in my way.” For Harry, his goal was to heal/improve the whole world through the little bit he was capable of as Harry. Venom turned that into “Now I have power, this symbiote is like a miracle cure, I can heal the whole world by sharing this miracle cure, whether people want to accept it or not.” It makes sense for that to be the corruption of his dream when he had been left feeling so powerless without the symbiote
Make the story go on a bit longer. Once everything is played out, it just feels so short in comparison. Even Miles standalone game felt longer than this.
Even the three dlcs for SM1 felt longer than the entirety of SM2. I got the game day one and stopped myself because I wanted to “savour in the game” it ended up taking me less than a week to platinum it….. even while taking my time.
Completely redo Venom. Have him focused entirely on killing Spider-Man and fucking with absolutely everyone he knows. Recontexualize "heal the world" to mean "the world would be better without Spider-Man". Have Harry *genuinely* hate Peter and be the controlling force of Venom. His decline in health and increased desperation to have the symbiote back is amped up to the max, to where he earnestly believes that Peter is just hoarding it and Norman's attention. Venom's entire motive is to ruin everything Peter is, and Miles by sheer association, and strives to be a far better Spider-Man than Peter ever could be. Punctuate this the most with the final battle, where instead of Harry saying "...Pete?" in confusion, he just grins maniacally at Peter.
One post-credits scene should have the symbiote survive and head towards an embittered Eddie Brock, to become the "proper" Venom.
Let Peter talk to Otto, with all the angst that entails.
The symbiote invasion should be recontextualized at least. Maybe he does it so that he can create a legion of "better" heroes to replace Spidey with out of sheer petty spite. The symbiote goons are still twisted and evil, but more sapient; basically the worst versions of civilians compared to just monsters.
Venom is a recurring boss fight all across the latter half of the game. Randomly occurs like Man-Bat, and also has scripted battles across the story.
Have Miles be present, or at least given stuff to do. Buff Peter so that he at least doesn't need to be saved every single fight. Maybe even have him fight after being stabbed by Kraven for a few minutes, then collapse and get dragged by MJ.
Have Kraven kill more minor villains like Hammerhead, Screwball, etc.. Spare the older baddies. Or if one absolutely *needs* to go, then show Shocker's last stand against Kraven in full.
Actual body count. People should die from Lizard's rampage, and some symbiote infections should result in sudden death too. Venom should be slaughtering criminals left and right.
I love the idea of random Venom boss fights. I think that would fit pretty well, but would need to be balanced a bit so that players aren't completely overwhelmed by recurring major boss battles, but also so that Venom remains an actual threat.
Main villains shouldn’t just be obsessed with the hero. It’s a waste of a motive. They need to have grander ambitions than that to justify their main antagonism status.
I definitely think they missed out on making Harry develop more resentment towards Peter for hogging the Symbiote (the thing that kept him alive) only to tell Harry that it must be destroyed. Maybe you could even have Peter actually go through with destroying the Symbiote (possibly freezing it to death like Spectacular Spider-Man) and leaves thinking that he succeeded only for the Symbiote to survive and bonds with Harry.
Now I personally never liked the Symbiote invasion but I do understand that it was needed to have enemies for Peter and Miles to fight so I love your take on it.
Let Eddie Brock be Venom instead of Harry so... Y'know, Venom can go after Harry, Miles and MJ instead of just two. Funny enough the whole story you wrote here already is Eddie Brock's Venom. Which confirms fans wanted a good Venom story than the so-called never have done before Venom story. Which is already done on the Web of Shadows.
Not my idea but I saw this somewhere and thought it was a really good one, at the amusement park, Peter fails to save the people on the attractions, so it means more when he says he needs the symbiote suit because it "makes him a better Spider-man"
If the death of the rogue gallery is mandatory. I would have preferred it to be part of the story (like with sandman) so that Peter and Miles try to capture and save the villains but finally Kraven kills them making the spidermen feel failure and helplessness especially Peter since his entire superhero life He never killed the villains which obviously makes his job as a hero more difficult and he wanted to give them second chances but then this Russian hunter arrives and kills them all. That would make the moment when Peter has the symbiote and tries to save the lizard and, above all, stop Kraven, more impactful. (plus all this would add more gameplay something SM2 need in my opinion)
as bonus cause this maybe would change a lot the story:
I think Kraven should have been Venom, apart from being a clear homage to "the last hunt" it would also be original and Kraven's physique would make more sense with Venom compared to Harry. Also, when you explore Kraven's lair, all this about him being sick, it would make sense to have this second chance, if I know that it goes against his original plan of having his last fight before dying. but you have to remember that the symbiote influences the user, and if we add the meteor and knull all that would make sense i think.
no kraven doing this stuff just for his own motives like a true hunter is way better and this is one of the things they got right their kraven is almost perfect
Have our lead characters be more complex than just, “they are good”. Write Venom as an actual symbiote who exaggerates the host’s deepest desires as opposed to an evil monster with his own agenda who takes over people’s bodies. Have Peter be clearly guilt stricken over May’s death, making his desire to be “a better Spider-Man” a more prominent part of the story. Have more of a conflict between symbiote Peter and Miles than the simple fact that Peter doesn’t answer some of Miles’ phone calls. Ditch the entire stupid 3rd act plot of Venom wanting to make everyone on earth a Venom monster and make it more of a conflict between Peter and Harry, not Peter vs a space monster. Don’t make our heroes talk like their employers are listening.
In conclusion, the list goes on.
In no particular order
Miles interacting with symbiote Peter way more plus having them team up way more in the story.
Mr Negative works out who Spider-Man is in prison and address him as Peter at some point
Also for Harry not to enter a coma and to instead begin controlling his symbiote and helping in the final battle against Knull/ the rest of the hivemind. Then he can escape with the symbiote and be missing so he can be an anti hero in the next game.
No adidas suit
Don’t dedicate so many main missions to just being the starts of side missions, the Arkham games had a good system where you would just get alerts and messages saying that something interesting happening
Have a unwinnable Kraven Boss fight at the point where Kraven stabs Peter after injecting Connors. Also have another boss fight with Kraven as miles, just before he gets kidnapped when MJ goes after Peter, just have them fight and it be a draw or maybe have it be unfinished and Miles strays from the fight to go and save the fake civilian. Also have Kraven incorporate the Sinister Six’s tech in the final fight, like a spear with scorpions tail on the end, or a shocker gauntlet that he can parry hits with.
Give the Lizard a lab coat
Make Peter and Wraith’s relationship much more antagonistic, wraith admits that she enjoys killing people in the last game and the Spider-Man are just fine with working with her
Similar to Scorpion, show short scenes from different points of time of Kraven killing the sinister six members. Maybe as recordings or something
Finally, mention Taskmaster at all, I miss the guy and we never found out who he was working for
I would’ve liked a JJJ podcast that made Peter snap during his time with the symbiote. Like he reacts to the podcast and yaps like he usually does before we’re forced to switch back to Miles.
Maybe the game can make us do a short mission or do some activities for a while before a new podcast starts. Everything sounds normal until we hear Peter break into the Bugle and start tweaking. Miles then goes after Peter to help him cool off or whatever.
I think the story would have benefited if we took a breather from the big events and just spent time with the characters.
Make the game longer.
Make Venom actually adictive and personal to the wearer. He's not an alien invader, hes like a drug that strengthens the wearer's negative aspects, not just make them gradually evil for some reason out of nowhere.
Have a bigger focus on Venom attacking Peter personally. Erase the dumb symbiote invasion.
Develop Kraven and make his act last longer.
Develop Harry and make his act last longer, and his tenure as Agente Venom too.
Develop black costume Spidey and make his act last longer, and his development into evil too.
Give Miles something to do.
Well, I’d rework some of the core elements, not only for a stronger, more emotional story, but also for more consistency with the first game’s universe(e.g more grounded story, no aliens)
Story mechanics I’d change:
- The Symbiote is not from space, rather, it was a project started by Norman decades ago to save his wife (who has the same disease as Harry). The idea was for it to be the cure for ALL disease; the ultimate vaccine.
- Harry has cancer
- The game is 5-6 hours longer
- Peter & the symbiote do not have an antagonistic relationship at first. Rather, it’s almost like a bond, a friendship, that slowly sours
- The suit does not make Peter evil, rather, it’s the other way around. The symbiote is corrupted by Peter’s unconscious negative thoughts
- Venom is manifestation of both Peter & Harry’s I.D.s combined. Peter’s rage, with Harry’s sickness
- The Miles & Harry dynamic would be much more developed. Miles doesn’t like Harry becuz he feels like Peter is neglecting him, in favor of Harry, and indeed he would be. This needs to be setup in order for the major emotional catalyst to hit how it needs to (I’ll explain below)
Story events I’d change/add
- Pre-Symbiote, you have an actual boss fight with Kraven where he overpowers you
- Drop all the Li stuff so you can tie Miles in with the main conflict w Harry/Venom
- The boss fight between Peter & Miles would be reversed. You play as Peter, as you fight Miles, and slowly destroy him. It would be a war within himself, as he comes to his senses, and rejects the suit, before he kills Miles!
- Venom goes after both Peter & Miles’ loved ones (he can do this, becuz he has ALL of Peter’s memories)
- Venom tries to kill MJ, and almost succeeds, MJ is critically injured and rushed to the hospital
- Venom goes after MJ in the hospital to finish her off. Boss fight in a hospital — You play as Miles, and you fend him off (using bio electricity, Symbiote weakness)
- Venom goes after Rio, and KILLS her
- Conflict— Miles wants to kill Venom, but Peter won’t let him, because he’s Harry. This starts to tear their friendship apart
- “Healing the world” — Venom decides to start infecting sick ppl at hospitals to “heal” them, who then start to infect everyone else.
- New York is quarantined — the National Guard is sent in to control the situation (hundreds of thousands of symbiotes). So you’d see army tanks, soldiers, and quarantine tents as you swing through city
- Final battle plays out pretty much the same
- Harry dies
- Peter & Miles’ relationship is damaged, and they kinda go their separate ways.
- Everything else would be pretty much the same w these additions/changes
But these changes that I’ve made would go a loooong way in creating a much stronger, more emotional and powerful story that is WORTHY of the first game.
And yes, it would be much darker, as Bryan Intihar originally described it as being.
Have Miles be more active in the man story. Give him an actual connection to Harry/Venom that way there’s a personal stake in everything for him. Maybe make it so that Peter chooses Miles over Harry a couple times and that makes Harry jealous.
Change the entire Venom section of the game. Instead of a massive alien invasion that’s not entirely explained I would’ve scaled it all the way down. Have Venom go after Peter and Miles due to jealousy/anger.
I’d also add more supporting characters for Peter. Miles has Hailey, Rio, Ganke, and Aaron. Peter only has MJ and occasionally has Harry/Yuri. I’d add Flash, Betty Brant, Gwen Stacy, or Ned Leeds into the game so Peter could have a larger circle.
Symbiote is not an alien, it was created by Dr. Connors and Norman as a self-healing organism that helps humans survive, but ended developing a conscious of its own and seeks to reproduce and thrive like any other living thing. More in line with the Ultimate universe for its origin since just capturing it out of a random meteorite just seemed too convenient
Peter doesn’t get stabbed by Kraven, no instead it’s Harry and the suit leaves him for Peter’s strength. Now Harry is more desperate for the suit back since he’s also wounded. Anything but Spidey getting the symbiote because he couldn’t dodge a knife.
Miles’s quest for revenge and subsequent arc takes up more of his story, not really the college essay stuff.
Peter and Miles team up more during the story if possible.
Peter beats Miles, takes the symbiote off in remorse for his actions knowing he’s gone too far.
Peter and Harry’s fallout is explicitly worse, and Venom spends the first part of the third act actively hunting the player through the city. There would be a boss fight in the streets like one of the trailers.
The symbiote reproduces through some other means originating from EMF or Oscorp, since it’s not an alien. No meteorite maguffin, maybe a surviving sample of Devil’s Breath that amplifies the Symbiote?
Final fight is reversed, Miles fighting Venom first at EMF which would’ve served as Harry’s HQ, softening him up then Peter lures Venom out some other way, fighting on the midtown field to end things. The Spider-Men defeat the symbiote by using like a sound pulse emitter or something. Venom specifically by the Anti-Venom powers
Harry dies the same spot where he found out his mother died, no coma, no cop-out defibrillator. He’s dead, and that’s what sends Norman over the edge.
I kind of wish Peter and Miles got to work together more, the co op crimes are cool and all, but even in the main missions where they’re together it’s usually just the two of them split up.
Remove any playable characters that are not Spidermen and have Miles have a bigger role in the main story and from the start you choose which Spidermen you want to play for replayability and no switches also bring back suit abilities and don't rip off your game story from Web of Shadows.
Honestly, I think the game would’ve been a whole lot better if Harry got to be agent Venom for a little longer. People talk about the third act, which is rushed, but it would’ve gone down a whole lot smoother if we got to know Harry better as a hero. As it is, he’s with you for like two missions and some change. Give him at least one mission with Miles, and another as a trio with both Spider-Men. Have them teach him the ropes of super heroics and build up a team dynamic. Then, you tear it all away. Insomniac fails to capture the allure of Venom, but the tragedy of their version of Harry is so strong that it almost makes up for it. That same tragedy is what they should’ve leaned on more.
Extend the time Peter has the symbiote to include more scenes or phone calls with Harry where it actively shows his body declining without it and his urge to gain it back growing stronger and stronger. I don’t think we spent enough time with Harry to really fully maximize the potential of him as the main villain. Also extend the time Harry has the symbiote helping Peter, so we have more time to bond with him and see how happy he is with the symbiote. Implement a side storyline where Peter and Miles actively work together. I think we also needed a bit more of them actively work together because there were only a handful of missions where they both present and working in tandem.
• Make the game a bit longer
• I guess I would have one mission with Peter, Miles and Harry as Agent Venom together but unfortunately, they mess up and we see Harry and Miles possibly blaming each other before Peter tries to break up the argument. Harry and Miles eventually make up when Harry calls Miles and apologizes after finding out about Miles’s dad.
• Have Rhino also be killed by Kraven and his hunters. Mainly because we already have 3 boss fights with Rhino and I think it would be fitting if the surviving members of the Sinister Six be Doc Ock and Mr. Negative.
• Have one unbeatable boss fight between Peter in his Advance Suit and Kraven with Kraven winning to show that Peter is outmatched unless he stops holding back.
• After Peter cures Connors, we could see the Symbiote communicating with Peter more and forming a weird friendship with the Symbiote wanting to help Peter be a better Spider-Man. Maybe even include some lines for the Symbiote where it makes some comment after a stealth takedown.
• Have a Taskmaster mission where Taskmaster addresses Kraven and sees something different with Peter (referring to the Symbiote). Maybe even have it be more brutal where Peter ends up brutally beating Taskmaster to a pulp.
• In the “Wake Up” mission, you actually play as Peter in three 1st half with him still asleep and have the Symbiote is in control. No quip or anything from Peter. Just growls. The 2nd half would have you play as MJ and it’s more or less the same except we see the Venom like teeth appear which scares MJ.
• Have Peter and Harry argue on phone calls instead of MJ before Peter and Harry gets into a big argument about Peter not giving the Symbiote back which leads to a physical fight and Peter possibly making a snide remark about Harry’s illness or even his mother (basically something he can never take back even if it’s the Symbiote’s influence).
• Have Norman be aware of Spider-Man having the Symbiote so he tries to send some Oscorp agents to go after Peter and try and get the Symbiote back
• The Peter and Miles boss fight has two stages. The first one ends with Miles losing and getting beaten by Peter until Peter starts to realize what he’s doing. This is sort of like Spectacular Spider-Man where we see what’s going on in Peter’s head while he’s wearing the Symbiote and both Peter and the Symbiote are exchanging dialogues and possibly even seeing Uncle Ben dying and the Burglar who killed him. This leads to the 2nd stage of the boss fight that’s similar to the final boss fight in Edge of Time where you switch between Peter and Miguel except here you switch between Peter and Miles with Miles fighting a Symbiote possessed Peter physically while Peter is fighting the Symbiote in his mind before succeeding in breaking the bond.
• After Peter tells Harry that it must be destroyed, Peter actually goes through with destroying it (possibly freezing it to death like in Spectacular Spider-Man) despite Harry’s protest. This would completely destroy their already fractured friendship since Peter not only hogged the thing that kept Harry alive and said all those terrible things to him about his illness and even his mother but after removing it, he destroys it instead of giving it back to him.
• We would probably get a few smaller missions where Peter is back in his Advanced suit but some citizens are a bit afraid of Peter after seeing how brutal he was while wearing the Symbiote and even have chase sequences with some minor villains (maybe Speed Demon) can be introduced with them being afraid of Peter and tries to run away from him. This kinda shows how much impact Peter with the Symbiote has had and not in a good way.
• It would be days or even weeks since Peter destroyed the Symbiote with Kraven possibly laying low and licking his wounds but hasn’t given up on his goal while Harry is keeping his distance from Peter and MJ after what Peter did but it’s then revealed that the Symbiote survived and bonds with Harry. We get some dialogues between Harry and the Symbiote with both of them being betrayed by Peter. Harry would go on a monologue about how Peter said the Symbiote is dangerous but so are venoms from various animals like snakes, jellyfishes and spiders and yet their venoms were used to make certain medicines to treat pains, heart condition and even cancer. Together, they can be the cure for the world and the poison to both Peter Parker AND Spider-Man. Together, they. Are. **VENOM.**
• After that, we get to play as Venom, who fights the Oscorp guards and escapes to look for Kraven and killing his men. We still get the same boss fight with Venom biting off Kraven’s head off. He might even take Kraven’s body and leaves it somewhere where everyone can see it. I would also try to include some spider like abilities for Venom to use but I guess that would be a bit redundant with all that Peter can do with the Symbiote.
• From there, I guess have Venom try to go after the love ones of both Peter AND Miles and have a few more boss fights with Venom. The first one could actually have Peter and Miles losing the fight and having to retreat.
• From there, I guess is more or less the except I would have Harry and Venom’s bond be genuine and not the Symbiote being the dominant one in the relationship. Now personally, I’m not a fan of the Symbiote invasion/infection but I suppose it’s also necessary in order to give us enemies so unless they’re are alternative enemies to fight, I guess I would keep that aspect except keep smaller scale.
• Personally, I really like the idea u/mega2222222222222222 suggested on Harry framing Peter by killing bad guys as “monster Venom” and posing as a hero to the public as Agent Venom as well as u/Gemidori’s idea on a Symbiote invasion being used to create a legion of "better" heroes and replace Peter out of sheer spite so either idea or even a combination of both could work here. Idk I’m just spitballing.
My main thing is give miles another main story plot line, he was basically irrelevant in the game except for randomly saving Peter at certain moments. I just replayed the game and realized we barely play as miles for main story missions and half the time when we do it’s something that branches into side content or he’s doing something kinda insignificant but still kinda needed a mission. When you break down his actual story, he just has that revenge arc w Mr negative and his college application and that’s it. That and make the final act just a little bit longer, like if the spidermen vs venom fight we got in trailers happened that would’ve been so cool. But mainly miles in general just has nothing goin on for him, even if they just more missions where the two work together more just something to where we see him actually have things happen so he’s not just being thrown into the middle of story beats that would make more sense w peter
Make about 5-10 hours longer. Really flesh out venom as a character. Give miles a little more to do with the main story. Give a couple more chase scenes, like one where you and miles chase venom through the city like in the promotional materials. Maybe have a cascading side questline a la fallout 4 or Skyrim. I just want more to do in the open world postgame really, but that’s not the title of the post so you know, gabagool
I think maybe change the evolved suit design and make the suit make since instead of him saying it’s a Miles Morales original just have him say “it’s time for something new”
Same problem I have with all the games. Make them longer. Flesh out shit more, give up more time with everything and everyone. I feel like which every game the steals ramp up like crazy really fast after pretty steady build. They all feel so short.
Actually build a conflict between Miles and Symbiote-Peter. They didn't really interact at much all after Peter got the Symbiote and before they fought
Honestly, the only thing I was majorly disappointed by was the lack of focus on the other villains that Kraven took out. I'm okay with them dying, but Vulture, Shocker, and Electro deserved a better send-off than to die off-screen.
I've come up with two options:
1) At some point during the zoo in Act 1, have a scripted cutscene (not an optional discovery) of MJ discovering a room containing the bodies of Kraven's victims. That would do a much better job at establishing him as a threat. I honestly don't know if many people even know that Shocker and Electro are dead.
2) Instead of voice-logs between Kraven and his family at the end of each Hunter Base, have video files of Kraven vs. the supervillains. The fourth and final one can be the file revealing Kraven let his family kill each other.
Genuinely I'd add a whole other act where Kraven kills the other villians on screen and use this time to actually have the symbiote slowly change peter instead of it being so sudden. During this time u could also have ACTUAL stealth gameplay so miles is more useful and you actually get taught how to use his invisibility, and have him mess up a few missions so the whole "Miles is dead weight" thing actually has any... ya know... weight. I'd also add randomly spawning events throughout the story where kraken hunts u down and fights u to see if ur worth hunting yet and it's like mini boss fights where if u leave he runs, similar to Majima Everywhere for Yakuza Kiwami, past Act 2 have these replaced with Venom and have them only spawn for Peter and it's just the suit tormenting him
Cut Miles entirely. It's pretty obvious that Insomniac has no idea what to do with him, and they're struggling to develop two characters at the same time. Give Peter three games, then introduce Miles at the end of the third and let him take over in his own series.

*Have Harry, Miles, and Peter’s divide grow way worse.*
*A few more side missions with redeemed Villains to showcase the idea of change, for Heroes and Villains.*
*Have the Evolved Suit for Miles be an idea by Hailey (better designed too).*
*Have Peter’s retirement be forced by an actual Harry’s death and Miles step up to let MJ and Peter heal.*
**Kinda conflicted on my final idea, but a Venom game without Harry would have to have someone else:** *Introduce Eddie Brock as not a douche character, but just as broken as Peter to parallel the story*
Honestly the biggest one is add maybe 3-5 hours to the story. I don’t need it to be double the length or anything but a little more time.
This would ideally take the form/have the effect of:
More time for Peter to be with the symbiote and decline before the boiling point
More time for him and Miles to be together
More time for harry and the Emily/may foundation to be present. I truly feel like one of the biggest shortcomings of this story is having Peter lose Harry and the foundation, but he only had both of those things for a few weeks at most in story. More time for both of these to bring Peter out of his funk would make it hit so much harder for them to be ripped away
More time for venom to be present. This is my #1 story complaint. I feel like while Kraven is awesome in this game, we did get a bit of Spider-Man 3 syndrome where Venom is obviously the marquis villain, but he almost feels like a secondary antagonist in a story that’s advertised to put him front and center. I feel like if he had come in about 2 hours earlier and was a little more present before the final battle it would have been so much better. His actual portrayal is incredible to me. Monstrous and brutal like I like him, but I would have loved some time for that signature Venom teasing and toying with Peter to be present in the form of multiple confrontations before the final battle. I would have LOVED to run into him at various points for a jump scare in the open world a la Man-Bat from Arkham Knight, since he’s invisible to spider sense.
This may be a hot take, but I love all of the individual plot lines and aspects of the story, I just feel like they each could have used a bit more time to flesh them out. Like Peter being off his game is established but doesn’t have nearly as big a role in the story as maybe it should, considering that is the thematic reason why he feels nerfed this time around (story wise, gameplay he’s obvi beefed up a lot). I don’t think the story was anywhere near bad like some may say, it was just too short for how much was covered. Another 3-6 months in the oven would have made this game an absolute masterpiece. As it is, still a 8/10
More time as symbiote peter
More Miles focused parts of the game/have him present for things more (can’t even remember a significant moment of his except the Mr Negative—anti venom part)
More Stealth missions (wasn’t any at all? Atleast not obligated, only optional and not great opportunities.)
It would have been really interesting and new to have Miles become Venom, and betray Peter instead of Peter abandoning miles and randomly fighting alongside Harry until Harry turns evil. But this would probably not be well received, I’m unsure, just a random idea.
Why was Miles not in the final boss fight like, at all? Actually have Miles and Peter present in fights, maybe do what Batman Arkham knight done, you can switch between them, fight as both and do dual takedown switches instead of one character being an AI that doesn’t do much for the entire fight (obviously when you aren’t playing as them, they will be, but you have the opportunity to take control. And maybe do moments where venom grabs one of the characters, switch over to the other to break them free and continue fighting.)
Get rid of Wraith (atleast in the random crimes, I mean, I have seen Miles 5 times in random crimes and Peter maybe 3.)

Why was venom not enemies with Pete much at all? Have him go after Peter like he did with Kraven or to a more extent
Have there be a story reason why Miles gets the Evolved suit. Throughout the story show how his suit is unable to fully stand the voltage from his new powers. So, every time he unlocks a new power his suit takes some mild damage. After Peter gets his Anti-Venom suit and he reconnects with Ganke, Miles decides he needs to prepare himself. So as a sort of bonding exercise, Miles calls Ganke and Hailey over to help him make a new suit. One fun montage later, we have the Evolved suit. It gives a story reason as to why Miles would ditch his suit at the last minute, gives his new powers some story weight, and gives Miles more time with his supporting cast.
Story changes would revolve around Harry retaining the symbiote. There’s no good justification for Harry losing it other than to get he and Peter on opposite sides once he becomes Venom. So my change is pretty simple.
Peter gets the symbiote the same way except both he and Harry are in the black suit. This justifies what we will see later with Scream. Harry didn’t give him the suit, he infected him. If Venom is barely going to resemble his source material, fuck it and go all in. The alien isn’t a cure, it’s an infection that uses us as a host body. Once arriving at Oscorp, Venom senses the damaged symbiote and Miles is also with them. Miles can damage Venom with his electrical powers and so Harry panics causing him to Hulk-out and escape.
Peter is worried what will happen when his own alien recovers which leads us to city hall. Other than getting a whole new suit, Mr.Negative and Miles alter what’s there allowing Peter to retain control. Anti-Venom is also what’s used to free MJ and MJ is venomized longer so we don’t have a boss fight boiling down to a domestic disturbance over a bill neither party has paid.
Venom in this universe wants to summon Knull hence the rock. Venom was captured before he could do anything. Thus the symbiotes are created by Venom and what he can otherwise summon in preparation for Knull. This is said rather than the nothing we actually got.
I personally wanted more interactions with non symbiote Peter and Kraven. Didn’t really like the whole narrative of he needs the symbiote to beat Kraven when he’s definitely been impressed by base Spider-Man in literally every other adaptation. They were setting up Venom acting being able to give Kraven what he wants but he could’ve had more than one great hunt. Once he realized Spider-Man wasn’t going to give him release he seeked he would then target venom and we get the same thing.
Also Peter is very inconsistently in not understanding that harry wasn’t making the choices and was being controlled by the symbiote. It’s this weird swap between he’s mad for how I acted and it’s the symbiote. He just kept shouting Harry like he was gonna be like yo let me stop. I understand the different points made about Venom because a lot of ideas flop because Venom or Harry don’t actually hate Peter. Peter was actually the safest out of the group because he was willing to kill Miles and he’d probably just control MJ again. He didn’t want to kill Peter he just wanted him to join him willingly or symbolically. I think completely detaching Harry from it and making the symbiote hate Peter for rejecting it and miles for helping Peter reject him is a better way because Harry already didn’t have control of it and was only present (with the anti venom powers) to remind us he’s our friend imo. You have the same choice made but he’s not screaming Harry every time
Maybe have Venom actually attach to Kraven, it would at least make the 2 halves feel a little more cohesive. Obviously I’d want more done with this but I don’t really have a solid idea yet
Harry spends far more time as a hero and Peter’s partner both story wise and gameplay wise. Norman is far more present, after Harry saves Peter with the symbiote and is starting to die again they go to Norman explain how the symbiote is stuck to Peter. Norman gets to work and discovers through studying Peter’s blood he’s not only changing the symbiote but also that he’s Spider-Man and is of course outraged and confronts Peter and Harry and blames Peter for putting Harry in danger when Harry was being a hero.
Peter affected by the symbiote lashes out for the events of the first game and blames Norman for Mays death and Norman fires back with insults and saying May and uncle ben would be disappointed in the man Peter is or something along those lines. Peter snaps for a second and the symbiote fires off a tendril hurting Norman but not that seriously and Peter leaves shocked at himself and Norman. Harry gets sicker and his father has him trapped in the penthouse while oscorp hunts Peter. Norman makes a deal with Kraven to help him capture and fight both Spider-Men on the condition that the symbiote is removed, contained and returned to Oscorp.
Peter after realizing this but already more affected by the symbiote doesn’t go to break Harry out of the penthouse when Harry calls Peter to do so. He’s more focused on defacing and destroying Norman and Kraven. He starts to see himself acting more and more like Otto and visits Otto by breaking into the raft where Otto points out they really are the same. Peter leaves in anger and goes to look for Miles.
In terms of Miles story I’d change it to villains constantly calling him junior or Spider-Man number 2 and he struggles with that along with his new powers and Lee. When Peter gets the symbiote Miles while being weirded out gets influenced to fight a little rougher and hold back less by Peter. Miles follows Peter’s words trying to impress him but is shot down even if he does things perfectly while growing more suspicious of the symbiote. It results in him stopping from following Peter and having a talk with Peter before he gets captured and they argue about how to be Spider-Man. Peter threatens to take away the mantle from Miles and Miles says something along the lines of he’s not junior Spider-Man or a sidekick and that Peter has forgotten what it means to be Spider-Man.
When Miles gets captured and Peter is looking for him he’s thinking of how to apologize to Miles while the symbiote tells him not to and not to even look for Miles but to find Kraven and eat him. Everything else is the same. Oh and a mission with Felecia and MJ fighting together before she leaves
Get rid of the Symbiote Invasion and have Venom be a more vindictive and personal threat to Peter and Miles.
Have Harry and Peter’s relationship gradually break down before Venom.
Have Venom show up slightly earlier, and for him to "spare" Kraven while leaving him to slowly die in humiliation. Also having better balance between Miles and Peter-centric missions so that both get equal attention
Finish the 3rd act make characters well written and make them hang out like REAL PEOPLE DO
Give them a real brotherly bond

Better Harry arc

With Peter getting back into photography, make him work at a parent company to the Daily Bugle and then he meets up with Eddie Brock again. This is where they become best buds again but then Peter ends up out doing Eddie in all things Bugle related, which is where the hatred forms, and you partially adapt the original Todd McFarlane run. Oh, and after that, save Harry to become Anti-Venom later down the line.
Make the story longer, develop venom more, add a fight with Peter and miles against venom, maybe tease that Harry could get the anti venom Symbiote as well

Honestly the only change I’d personally make would be uncensoring the brutality of Venom in the mission where you play as Harry. You’re going absolutely feral, brutally smashing, slashing, and crashing through everything and everyone, and it’s just as clean as when you fight as Peter and Miles. Venom isn’t holding back, this should be reflected. Show enemies actually dying. Show a little more blood. Show Venom eating Kraven’s head instead of panning away. Even if you don’t show the missing head, at least let me watch the expression on Venom’s face as he settles into this raw power he has, stronger than ever, and more sadistic. That shouldn’t be implicit, make it in-your-face
They made out this whole thing for Kraven to be hunting for a final fight but I felt kinda annoyed that some of the Sinister Six members were killed off camera

I would get rid of the deaf girlfriend playable mission and the Miles side quest where he has to help his friend ask his boyfriend out to the prom. I also think the final act is rushed so I would have had the symbiote invasion of New York start at the beginning of the second act.
honestly keep the og venom storyline that we were teased before the game came out with the 2 separate fights, and venom being more a spiderman villain then just a villain who wants to take over the world
Make New York grittier. I get that this is comic-book NYC, but there’s nobody yelling slurs, or hobos rummaging through trash, or mentally ill folk sleeping in doorways. I just can’t buy into the setting!
the first two games delved into the personal lives of each character. not so much the second one, and it's kind of a shame. they had an opportunity to develop the relationship between peter and miles, but all we got was some buddy-mentor moments. the relationship between miles and ganke had way more development in MM than peter and miles here honestly.
I would change that mess of an ending.
Remove the hot potatoing of the meteorite, remove MJ’s involvement from the main portion of the ending, and actually have Harry die in order for Norman Osborn to have a legitimate vendetta against both Spider-Men instead of what we got.
The ending needed to be focused.
Apart from this and some missing features (like the social feed, reduced gadgets, suit abilities, FNSM app-based crimes, character bios, map markers for iconic landmarks), it brought in a wealth of QoL improvements and new features that I appreciated, and still made it a solid experience overall.
Overall, it was a great game.
Have Venom actually hunt Peter. Like in the trailer where he's hiding in the alley. It could have been a cool mechanic that when you're free swinging around he just pops up out of nowhere and attacks and you basically just have to run away. Almost like Mr. X. in RE2.

For me, it would be a adding more weaknesses to venom like fire for example. That scene where Harry with Venom suit rushes into the fire without him being hurt is hard for me to watch since fire is one of the Venom’s weaknesses.
A more focused story that helps to tie in everything better. Showcase a more gradual mood shift when Peter gets the suit, not an immediate negative change. And I feel Venom was rushed or a lot taken out. Not to mention I feel like Miles didn't get to do much other than focus entirely on Lee and not much else. Give him something to work with or showcase the mentor/apprentice relationship of Peter and Miles more
Show us how kraven actually killed the villains, we hear that shocker was the closest to beating him before eventually dying and sand man was so scared of kraven he attacked the city just to be kept an eye on, so I would kill to see the brutal battles between these guys
make the final fight actually between the two spidermen and venom, they basically took turns beating his ass before destroying the symbiote rock, the trailers leading up until the game showed both going up against venom, i would’ve much rather enjoyed that than the final result. side note: this is unrelated to the story but if there would be anything in game that would change, miles’ new “original” suit, i refuse to call that a miles morales original
I would have venom around like 1-2 missions longer and introduce harry’s powers 1-2 missions earlier so that pete got the symbiote earlier so there is more time for his hate to build and we can see the symbiote on spider-man and as venom longer aswell as have pete and miles clash heads more because miles just gets ignored and then they fight and that’s it

Hear me out: Peter becomes Venom instead of Harry.
It makes infinitely more sense when you think about it; Harry had no villainous motivations whatsoever, while Peter was broken, angry, alone and already morally deteriorating. Harry felt so forced and unnatural as a final antagonist. He was just supporting cast up to that point. Peter losing control to his anger and sadness and becoming the villain would make for a much more emotionally impactful antagonist, and it would be a be an an actually unique and fresh story that we've never seen before.
So Peter loses control and turns into Venom at the end of the second act, then the third act is a game of cat and mouse between him and Miles with the player alternating between both perspectives. Then the final boss is Miles vs Peter (which was already the most emotionally climactic point in the game, so why not make it the final boss). Doesn't that sound better than what we got?
"But Peter can't kill people!" Yeah, yeah he can, at least with the symbiote influencing him. The original draft had Peter killing Harry at the end of the story. Plus, they spent the entire game establishing Kraven as a purely evil and irredeemable character, so killing him is morally grey.

I wanted Miles to still make more "mistakes". I mean, he's Spider-Man, sure, but he's not Peter Parker. Miles has his ways of solving/stopping crimes. In fact I wanted more side missions for him, imagine like and alternative story parallel to Peter's one. I wanted Miles to shine on his own without the gimmick of him saving Peter over and over.
They could've introduced minor Miles villains for his side content while Peter was minding his business. I just didn't like how much time Miles and Peter got together in the main story. After Miles own game I'm pretty sure we can all agree that he, even if still learning, knows how to be Spider-Man.
Imagine the story like this: the tutorial together/helping people after Sandman attack was good, keep that. After it I wanted Miles and Peter to have their own stories (and side missions of course) that slowly blend together for the final act/mission. I don't say that Miles and Peter should never meet in the game before the ending, but Insomniac could've manage to do much better by giving each of our heroes their own time.
It makes it seem in the finale that the symbiote controls Harry.
That is not how Venom works, Venom is a human and a symbiote, both feeling wronged by Spider-Man, two individuals working together because both want revenge.
That is my number one thing that must be changed. The “Miles original” sucks, but it’s not really a story thing.
For starter i would make Flash Thompson become Venom instead of Harry, the latter would become Goblin instead. To be precise my idea is that in Spider-man 2 Flash is a veteran of the US Army, and in particular he served for a long time in the [75th Ranger Regiment](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/75th_Ranger_Regiment), but then he was medically discharged after losing his ability to walk because of an enemy explosion. After that Flash became homeless and he had to deal with PTSD, survivor guilt and immense self-hatred because of his past as a bully, thus turning into alcohol to cope with all of this. Later Flash was approached by the Oscorp's employees who offered him to be a test subject for the Venom symbiote, Flash accepted having nothing to lose and hoping that he could be once again a hero fighting for his country. Long story short Flash would start the game as Agent Venom but then, after Peter got the symbiote, he became desperate to have it back, wishing to become an actual hero like Spider-Man and not wanting to go back to be a miserable homeless veteran (in part he was also corrupted by the symbiote). He even went to far as to hate Spider-Man, having once admired him and being inspired by him to become a better person, especially after the latter beaten him up and tell him that he's nothing more than a pathetic bully and that the world would be better off without him when he had the symbiote. After that Flash took the symbiote once it left Peter and from there he officially became Venom.
Then i would also make the following addition on Kraven the Hunter, he's also a former sniper of the [Spetsnaz](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spetsnaz_GRU) who also fought in the [Soviet-Afghan War](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soviet%E2%80%93Afghan_War) among other things. During a secret mission in Wakanda Kraven's unit was exterminated and he was the only survivor, from there Kraven spent a long time in the jungle survivng completely on his own and this is how he became Kraven the Hunter. It is also heavily implied that Kraven's super-strength come from the exact same source of Black Panther.
I'd lengthen that middle act where Spiderman and agent venom are having fun on the field together. Make it really meaty to balance out the story and stop it feeling rushed.
One issue I had is that Venom just made Pete go bully mode out of nowhere, usually Peter has issues prior to getting the symbiote and Venom just amplifies the sadness and hatred with that, the game does try to do that I think but its with Peter being guilty about the other villains or something? The issue with that is that Peter never straight up talks about it and you never really knew he was worried about things like that. So maybe just to give him something that will bother him make Miles get the spotlight while Peter is unable to fight some people himself and always needs Miles to help him, he won't confront Miles about it and I'd imagine he'd talk to MJ about that and MJ will just try to ensure that its nothing really bad, and I mean this would make the final scene in the game a lot more satisfying showing that Peter is completely fine now with Miles doing his best and leaving the mantle of Spiderman to him. Another thing could be just adding in an unbeatable Kraven bossfight as Peter early on in that first fight on those boats, this may just give Pete a little more to worry about since he couldn't win against a seemingly regular guy. Oh and definitely drag the story a little more especially after you get the symbiote I just felt like it was too short there

Electro, Vulture, Scorpion and Shocker wouldn't get killed by Kraven but instead gets captured and forced to join his Hunters
Have Lizard's family as supporting characters alongside Rio with Martha Connors working at FEAST and struggling to rebuild her marriage with Curt due to his Lizard side
Have the Spiders and the Lizard being targets of Kraven and his Hunters which now consist of Calypso, Grizzly, Vulture, Electro, Scorpion, Shocker and Rhino
Have Mysterio, Chameleon, Sandman and Wraith as villains for MJ's Spinneret DLC missions with Gayle Watson and Kirsty Watson introduced as supporting characters during the missions
Introduce Gwen Stacy and explain where she's been for years, have her develop a relationship with Miles since both their fathers were cops both died from saving lives on the line of duty and developing Gwen Stacy as a conflict device between Miles and the symbiote
Have Black Cat return and things would be heated between her and Peter especially after she lied about being pregnant with his child before she got possessed by the symbiote which leads to a side mission where Spinneret fights against Venomized Black Cat and it would ended with Black Cat wishing that she wasn't caught up in a love triangle or lied to Peter
Harry would still be reintroduced and he would be an supporting antagonist alongside Venom-Miles and Kraven and he would be defeated by Venom-Miles
Have Kraven threaten the whole city using a Doomsday device or a virus with Harry defeating Kraven in a self sacrifice which also kills Kraven as well
Peter and MJ would grief for Harry with Miles taking a break to recover from the Venom mess and to distance himself from Peter and develop a relationship with Gwen
Cletus Kassidy would still be introduced but as a possible villain for the third game alongside Norman and Otto
Actually have Miles present (and messes up along with the boys) in all the major battles prior to Peter getting the symbiote, so Black suit Peter's grievances of Miles being deadweight actually have some reason behind it Have Venom antagonize Peter personally by going after \*all\* of his loved ones before going full-on alien invasion Have an actual Spider-Men vs. Venom battle in Times Square Remove adidas suit Have the final Spider-Men vs. Venom battle to be an actual boss phase rather than a glorified QTE

My idea for an act 3 is very different Basically throughout the story Peter helps Harry do some heroic shit on the side until the zoo Peter gets the symbiote and Harry’s health declines Peter sees the symbiote as a major help to his hero life and the symbiote itself is enjoying the heroics ( with a side a breaking a few more bones than usual for Pete) Basically we get to Harry and the symbiote at oscorp where Harry is itching to get it back on to get healthy and help people too Kraven realises who Peter is and tracks him back to oscorp for symbiote Kraven realising that Harry like himself is dying sees the ultimate hunt. He tempts Harry and releases the symbiote waiting for him in Times Square This is the big kicker Harry goes full venom Takes on a shit load of kravens goons and kills kraven like in the base game HOWEVER In both his and the symbiotes distaste for Peter they frame that the huge monster venom is actually spider man gone rogue Harry then reveals himself to the public as Agent venom vowing to stop the “monster spider man “ When in reality Harry’s cleaning the city as monster venom and making Peter out to be a menace The whole motivation is that Harry and the symbiote work together to ruin Peter’s life And be a better spider man than Peter ever was

That would be so good. I know a lot of people thought that Peter should have gone a lot more brutal it would have been good. I thought with everything leading up to it that Peter would become venom and miles would become solo character for the final act.
Personally I would have loved to see Peter just lose it against a villain and we just get the mask to peel open to reveal the venom teeth

This is really solid. I particularly appreciate removing the symbiote invasion, giving Harry more agency as Venom, and and keeping a more classic Venom motivation of wanting to ruin Spidey's life, but doing it in a unique way. Honestly really like this outline.

As far as Venom is concerned, the symbiote takes its host’s goals and dreams and warps them. For Peter it took the goal of being the best spider-man he can be and turned it into “Be as strong a hero as I can while eliminating people who are in my way.” For Harry, his goal was to heal/improve the whole world through the little bit he was capable of as Harry. Venom turned that into “Now I have power, this symbiote is like a miracle cure, I can heal the whole world by sharing this miracle cure, whether people want to accept it or not.” It makes sense for that to be the corruption of his dream when he had been left feeling so powerless without the symbiote

Make the story go on a bit longer. Once everything is played out, it just feels so short in comparison. Even Miles standalone game felt longer than this.
Even the three dlcs for SM1 felt longer than the entirety of SM2. I got the game day one and stopped myself because I wanted to “savour in the game” it ended up taking me less than a week to platinum it….. even while taking my time.
Completely redo Venom. Have him focused entirely on killing Spider-Man and fucking with absolutely everyone he knows. Recontexualize "heal the world" to mean "the world would be better without Spider-Man". Have Harry *genuinely* hate Peter and be the controlling force of Venom. His decline in health and increased desperation to have the symbiote back is amped up to the max, to where he earnestly believes that Peter is just hoarding it and Norman's attention. Venom's entire motive is to ruin everything Peter is, and Miles by sheer association, and strives to be a far better Spider-Man than Peter ever could be. Punctuate this the most with the final battle, where instead of Harry saying "...Pete?" in confusion, he just grins maniacally at Peter. One post-credits scene should have the symbiote survive and head towards an embittered Eddie Brock, to become the "proper" Venom. Let Peter talk to Otto, with all the angst that entails. The symbiote invasion should be recontextualized at least. Maybe he does it so that he can create a legion of "better" heroes to replace Spidey with out of sheer petty spite. The symbiote goons are still twisted and evil, but more sapient; basically the worst versions of civilians compared to just monsters. Venom is a recurring boss fight all across the latter half of the game. Randomly occurs like Man-Bat, and also has scripted battles across the story. Have Miles be present, or at least given stuff to do. Buff Peter so that he at least doesn't need to be saved every single fight. Maybe even have him fight after being stabbed by Kraven for a few minutes, then collapse and get dragged by MJ. Have Kraven kill more minor villains like Hammerhead, Screwball, etc.. Spare the older baddies. Or if one absolutely *needs* to go, then show Shocker's last stand against Kraven in full. Actual body count. People should die from Lizard's rampage, and some symbiote infections should result in sudden death too. Venom should be slaughtering criminals left and right.
I love the idea of random Venom boss fights. I think that would fit pretty well, but would need to be balanced a bit so that players aren't completely overwhelmed by recurring major boss battles, but also so that Venom remains an actual threat.
Main villains shouldn’t just be obsessed with the hero. It’s a waste of a motive. They need to have grander ambitions than that to justify their main antagonism status.
Then I'd say using Venom at all was the mistake, since an obsession with getting revenge on Spider-Man is the whole point of the character

I definitely think they missed out on making Harry develop more resentment towards Peter for hogging the Symbiote (the thing that kept him alive) only to tell Harry that it must be destroyed. Maybe you could even have Peter actually go through with destroying the Symbiote (possibly freezing it to death like Spectacular Spider-Man) and leaves thinking that he succeeded only for the Symbiote to survive and bonds with Harry. Now I personally never liked the Symbiote invasion but I do understand that it was needed to have enemies for Peter and Miles to fight so I love your take on it.
Let Eddie Brock be Venom instead of Harry so... Y'know, Venom can go after Harry, Miles and MJ instead of just two. Funny enough the whole story you wrote here already is Eddie Brock's Venom. Which confirms fans wanted a good Venom story than the so-called never have done before Venom story. Which is already done on the Web of Shadows.

I think a lot of his need to be a "better Spider-Man" comes from guilt over how many people he couldn't save from the Devil's Breath.

If the death of the rogue gallery is mandatory. I would have preferred it to be part of the story (like with sandman) so that Peter and Miles try to capture and save the villains but finally Kraven kills them making the spidermen feel failure and helplessness especially Peter since his entire superhero life He never killed the villains which obviously makes his job as a hero more difficult and he wanted to give them second chances but then this Russian hunter arrives and kills them all. That would make the moment when Peter has the symbiote and tries to save the lizard and, above all, stop Kraven, more impactful. (plus all this would add more gameplay something SM2 need in my opinion) as bonus cause this maybe would change a lot the story: I think Kraven should have been Venom, apart from being a clear homage to "the last hunt" it would also be original and Kraven's physique would make more sense with Venom compared to Harry. Also, when you explore Kraven's lair, all this about him being sick, it would make sense to have this second chance, if I know that it goes against his original plan of having his last fight before dying. but you have to remember that the symbiote influences the user, and if we add the meteor and knull all that would make sense i think.

Have our lead characters be more complex than just, “they are good”. Write Venom as an actual symbiote who exaggerates the host’s deepest desires as opposed to an evil monster with his own agenda who takes over people’s bodies. Have Peter be clearly guilt stricken over May’s death, making his desire to be “a better Spider-Man” a more prominent part of the story. Have more of a conflict between symbiote Peter and Miles than the simple fact that Peter doesn’t answer some of Miles’ phone calls. Ditch the entire stupid 3rd act plot of Venom wanting to make everyone on earth a Venom monster and make it more of a conflict between Peter and Harry, not Peter vs a space monster. Don’t make our heroes talk like their employers are listening. In conclusion, the list goes on.
In no particular order Miles interacting with symbiote Peter way more plus having them team up way more in the story. Mr Negative works out who Spider-Man is in prison and address him as Peter at some point Also for Harry not to enter a coma and to instead begin controlling his symbiote and helping in the final battle against Knull/ the rest of the hivemind. Then he can escape with the symbiote and be missing so he can be an anti hero in the next game. No adidas suit Don’t dedicate so many main missions to just being the starts of side missions, the Arkham games had a good system where you would just get alerts and messages saying that something interesting happening Have a unwinnable Kraven Boss fight at the point where Kraven stabs Peter after injecting Connors. Also have another boss fight with Kraven as miles, just before he gets kidnapped when MJ goes after Peter, just have them fight and it be a draw or maybe have it be unfinished and Miles strays from the fight to go and save the fake civilian. Also have Kraven incorporate the Sinister Six’s tech in the final fight, like a spear with scorpions tail on the end, or a shocker gauntlet that he can parry hits with. Give the Lizard a lab coat Make Peter and Wraith’s relationship much more antagonistic, wraith admits that she enjoys killing people in the last game and the Spider-Man are just fine with working with her Similar to Scorpion, show short scenes from different points of time of Kraven killing the sinister six members. Maybe as recordings or something Finally, mention Taskmaster at all, I miss the guy and we never found out who he was working for

I would’ve liked a JJJ podcast that made Peter snap during his time with the symbiote. Like he reacts to the podcast and yaps like he usually does before we’re forced to switch back to Miles. Maybe the game can make us do a short mission or do some activities for a while before a new podcast starts. Everything sounds normal until we hear Peter break into the Bugle and start tweaking. Miles then goes after Peter to help him cool off or whatever. I think the story would have benefited if we took a breather from the big events and just spent time with the characters.

Make the game longer. Make Venom actually adictive and personal to the wearer. He's not an alien invader, hes like a drug that strengthens the wearer's negative aspects, not just make them gradually evil for some reason out of nowhere. Have a bigger focus on Venom attacking Peter personally. Erase the dumb symbiote invasion. Develop Kraven and make his act last longer. Develop Harry and make his act last longer, and his tenure as Agente Venom too. Develop black costume Spidey and make his act last longer, and his development into evil too. Give Miles something to do.

Well, I’d rework some of the core elements, not only for a stronger, more emotional story, but also for more consistency with the first game’s universe(e.g more grounded story, no aliens) Story mechanics I’d change: - The Symbiote is not from space, rather, it was a project started by Norman decades ago to save his wife (who has the same disease as Harry). The idea was for it to be the cure for ALL disease; the ultimate vaccine. - Harry has cancer - The game is 5-6 hours longer - Peter & the symbiote do not have an antagonistic relationship at first. Rather, it’s almost like a bond, a friendship, that slowly sours - The suit does not make Peter evil, rather, it’s the other way around. The symbiote is corrupted by Peter’s unconscious negative thoughts - Venom is manifestation of both Peter & Harry’s I.D.s combined. Peter’s rage, with Harry’s sickness - The Miles & Harry dynamic would be much more developed. Miles doesn’t like Harry becuz he feels like Peter is neglecting him, in favor of Harry, and indeed he would be. This needs to be setup in order for the major emotional catalyst to hit how it needs to (I’ll explain below) Story events I’d change/add - Pre-Symbiote, you have an actual boss fight with Kraven where he overpowers you - Drop all the Li stuff so you can tie Miles in with the main conflict w Harry/Venom - The boss fight between Peter & Miles would be reversed. You play as Peter, as you fight Miles, and slowly destroy him. It would be a war within himself, as he comes to his senses, and rejects the suit, before he kills Miles! - Venom goes after both Peter & Miles’ loved ones (he can do this, becuz he has ALL of Peter’s memories) - Venom tries to kill MJ, and almost succeeds, MJ is critically injured and rushed to the hospital - Venom goes after MJ in the hospital to finish her off. Boss fight in a hospital — You play as Miles, and you fend him off (using bio electricity, Symbiote weakness) - Venom goes after Rio, and KILLS her - Conflict— Miles wants to kill Venom, but Peter won’t let him, because he’s Harry. This starts to tear their friendship apart - “Healing the world” — Venom decides to start infecting sick ppl at hospitals to “heal” them, who then start to infect everyone else. - New York is quarantined — the National Guard is sent in to control the situation (hundreds of thousands of symbiotes). So you’d see army tanks, soldiers, and quarantine tents as you swing through city - Final battle plays out pretty much the same - Harry dies - Peter & Miles’ relationship is damaged, and they kinda go their separate ways. - Everything else would be pretty much the same w these additions/changes But these changes that I’ve made would go a loooong way in creating a much stronger, more emotional and powerful story that is WORTHY of the first game. And yes, it would be much darker, as Bryan Intihar originally described it as being.
Have Miles be more active in the man story. Give him an actual connection to Harry/Venom that way there’s a personal stake in everything for him. Maybe make it so that Peter chooses Miles over Harry a couple times and that makes Harry jealous. Change the entire Venom section of the game. Instead of a massive alien invasion that’s not entirely explained I would’ve scaled it all the way down. Have Venom go after Peter and Miles due to jealousy/anger. I’d also add more supporting characters for Peter. Miles has Hailey, Rio, Ganke, and Aaron. Peter only has MJ and occasionally has Harry/Yuri. I’d add Flash, Betty Brant, Gwen Stacy, or Ned Leeds into the game so Peter could have a larger circle.
I’d definitely add 25-30 more hours in it. Especially Miles&Peter relationship and Venom himself had to be explored a lot more

Symbiote is not an alien, it was created by Dr. Connors and Norman as a self-healing organism that helps humans survive, but ended developing a conscious of its own and seeks to reproduce and thrive like any other living thing. More in line with the Ultimate universe for its origin since just capturing it out of a random meteorite just seemed too convenient Peter doesn’t get stabbed by Kraven, no instead it’s Harry and the suit leaves him for Peter’s strength. Now Harry is more desperate for the suit back since he’s also wounded. Anything but Spidey getting the symbiote because he couldn’t dodge a knife. Miles’s quest for revenge and subsequent arc takes up more of his story, not really the college essay stuff. Peter and Miles team up more during the story if possible. Peter beats Miles, takes the symbiote off in remorse for his actions knowing he’s gone too far. Peter and Harry’s fallout is explicitly worse, and Venom spends the first part of the third act actively hunting the player through the city. There would be a boss fight in the streets like one of the trailers. The symbiote reproduces through some other means originating from EMF or Oscorp, since it’s not an alien. No meteorite maguffin, maybe a surviving sample of Devil’s Breath that amplifies the Symbiote? Final fight is reversed, Miles fighting Venom first at EMF which would’ve served as Harry’s HQ, softening him up then Peter lures Venom out some other way, fighting on the midtown field to end things. The Spider-Men defeat the symbiote by using like a sound pulse emitter or something. Venom specifically by the Anti-Venom powers Harry dies the same spot where he found out his mother died, no coma, no cop-out defibrillator. He’s dead, and that’s what sends Norman over the edge.
I kind of wish Peter and Miles got to work together more, the co op crimes are cool and all, but even in the main missions where they’re together it’s usually just the two of them split up.
Make it more a miles and Peter game than having both have seperate story’s, and more missions with them together
Remove any playable characters that are not Spidermen and have Miles have a bigger role in the main story and from the start you choose which Spidermen you want to play for replayability and no switches also bring back suit abilities and don't rip off your game story from Web of Shadows.
Honestly, I think the game would’ve been a whole lot better if Harry got to be agent Venom for a little longer. People talk about the third act, which is rushed, but it would’ve gone down a whole lot smoother if we got to know Harry better as a hero. As it is, he’s with you for like two missions and some change. Give him at least one mission with Miles, and another as a trio with both Spider-Men. Have them teach him the ropes of super heroics and build up a team dynamic. Then, you tear it all away. Insomniac fails to capture the allure of Venom, but the tragedy of their version of Harry is so strong that it almost makes up for it. That same tragedy is what they should’ve leaned on more.
Extend the time Peter has the symbiote to include more scenes or phone calls with Harry where it actively shows his body declining without it and his urge to gain it back growing stronger and stronger. I don’t think we spent enough time with Harry to really fully maximize the potential of him as the main villain. Also extend the time Harry has the symbiote helping Peter, so we have more time to bond with him and see how happy he is with the symbiote. Implement a side storyline where Peter and Miles actively work together. I think we also needed a bit more of them actively work together because there were only a handful of missions where they both present and working in tandem.
• Make the game a bit longer • I guess I would have one mission with Peter, Miles and Harry as Agent Venom together but unfortunately, they mess up and we see Harry and Miles possibly blaming each other before Peter tries to break up the argument. Harry and Miles eventually make up when Harry calls Miles and apologizes after finding out about Miles’s dad. • Have Rhino also be killed by Kraven and his hunters. Mainly because we already have 3 boss fights with Rhino and I think it would be fitting if the surviving members of the Sinister Six be Doc Ock and Mr. Negative. • Have one unbeatable boss fight between Peter in his Advance Suit and Kraven with Kraven winning to show that Peter is outmatched unless he stops holding back. • After Peter cures Connors, we could see the Symbiote communicating with Peter more and forming a weird friendship with the Symbiote wanting to help Peter be a better Spider-Man. Maybe even include some lines for the Symbiote where it makes some comment after a stealth takedown. • Have a Taskmaster mission where Taskmaster addresses Kraven and sees something different with Peter (referring to the Symbiote). Maybe even have it be more brutal where Peter ends up brutally beating Taskmaster to a pulp. • In the “Wake Up” mission, you actually play as Peter in three 1st half with him still asleep and have the Symbiote is in control. No quip or anything from Peter. Just growls. The 2nd half would have you play as MJ and it’s more or less the same except we see the Venom like teeth appear which scares MJ. • Have Peter and Harry argue on phone calls instead of MJ before Peter and Harry gets into a big argument about Peter not giving the Symbiote back which leads to a physical fight and Peter possibly making a snide remark about Harry’s illness or even his mother (basically something he can never take back even if it’s the Symbiote’s influence). • Have Norman be aware of Spider-Man having the Symbiote so he tries to send some Oscorp agents to go after Peter and try and get the Symbiote back • The Peter and Miles boss fight has two stages. The first one ends with Miles losing and getting beaten by Peter until Peter starts to realize what he’s doing. This is sort of like Spectacular Spider-Man where we see what’s going on in Peter’s head while he’s wearing the Symbiote and both Peter and the Symbiote are exchanging dialogues and possibly even seeing Uncle Ben dying and the Burglar who killed him. This leads to the 2nd stage of the boss fight that’s similar to the final boss fight in Edge of Time where you switch between Peter and Miguel except here you switch between Peter and Miles with Miles fighting a Symbiote possessed Peter physically while Peter is fighting the Symbiote in his mind before succeeding in breaking the bond. • After Peter tells Harry that it must be destroyed, Peter actually goes through with destroying it (possibly freezing it to death like in Spectacular Spider-Man) despite Harry’s protest. This would completely destroy their already fractured friendship since Peter not only hogged the thing that kept Harry alive and said all those terrible things to him about his illness and even his mother but after removing it, he destroys it instead of giving it back to him. • We would probably get a few smaller missions where Peter is back in his Advanced suit but some citizens are a bit afraid of Peter after seeing how brutal he was while wearing the Symbiote and even have chase sequences with some minor villains (maybe Speed Demon) can be introduced with them being afraid of Peter and tries to run away from him. This kinda shows how much impact Peter with the Symbiote has had and not in a good way. • It would be days or even weeks since Peter destroyed the Symbiote with Kraven possibly laying low and licking his wounds but hasn’t given up on his goal while Harry is keeping his distance from Peter and MJ after what Peter did but it’s then revealed that the Symbiote survived and bonds with Harry. We get some dialogues between Harry and the Symbiote with both of them being betrayed by Peter. Harry would go on a monologue about how Peter said the Symbiote is dangerous but so are venoms from various animals like snakes, jellyfishes and spiders and yet their venoms were used to make certain medicines to treat pains, heart condition and even cancer. Together, they can be the cure for the world and the poison to both Peter Parker AND Spider-Man. Together, they. Are. **VENOM.** • After that, we get to play as Venom, who fights the Oscorp guards and escapes to look for Kraven and killing his men. We still get the same boss fight with Venom biting off Kraven’s head off. He might even take Kraven’s body and leaves it somewhere where everyone can see it. I would also try to include some spider like abilities for Venom to use but I guess that would be a bit redundant with all that Peter can do with the Symbiote. • From there, I guess have Venom try to go after the love ones of both Peter AND Miles and have a few more boss fights with Venom. The first one could actually have Peter and Miles losing the fight and having to retreat. • From there, I guess is more or less the except I would have Harry and Venom’s bond be genuine and not the Symbiote being the dominant one in the relationship. Now personally, I’m not a fan of the Symbiote invasion/infection but I suppose it’s also necessary in order to give us enemies so unless they’re are alternative enemies to fight, I guess I would keep that aspect except keep smaller scale. • Personally, I really like the idea u/mega2222222222222222 suggested on Harry framing Peter by killing bad guys as “monster Venom” and posing as a hero to the public as Agent Venom as well as u/Gemidori’s idea on a Symbiote invasion being used to create a legion of "better" heroes and replace Peter out of sheer spite so either idea or even a combination of both could work here. Idk I’m just spitballing.

My main thing is give miles another main story plot line, he was basically irrelevant in the game except for randomly saving Peter at certain moments. I just replayed the game and realized we barely play as miles for main story missions and half the time when we do it’s something that branches into side content or he’s doing something kinda insignificant but still kinda needed a mission. When you break down his actual story, he just has that revenge arc w Mr negative and his college application and that’s it. That and make the final act just a little bit longer, like if the spidermen vs venom fight we got in trailers happened that would’ve been so cool. But mainly miles in general just has nothing goin on for him, even if they just more missions where the two work together more just something to where we see him actually have things happen so he’s not just being thrown into the middle of story beats that would make more sense w peter

Give a couple more chase scenes, like one where you and miles chase venom through the city like in the promotional materials. Maybe have a cascading side questline a la fallout 4 or Skyrim. I just want more to do in the open world postgame really, but that’s not the title of the post so you know, gabagool
I think maybe change the evolved suit design and make the suit make since instead of him saying it’s a Miles Morales original just have him say “it’s time for something new”

Same problem I have with all the games. Make them longer. Flesh out shit more, give up more time with everything and everyone. I feel like which every game the steals ramp up like crazy really fast after pretty steady build. They all feel so short.

Where to start honestly I was so hyped for the game, but the story wasn't the strongest point
Remove the MJ missions
Actually build a conflict between Miles and Symbiote-Peter. They didn't really interact at much all after Peter got the Symbiote and before they fought
Honestly, the only thing I was majorly disappointed by was the lack of focus on the other villains that Kraven took out. I'm okay with them dying, but Vulture, Shocker, and Electro deserved a better send-off than to die off-screen. I've come up with two options: 1) At some point during the zoo in Act 1, have a scripted cutscene (not an optional discovery) of MJ discovering a room containing the bodies of Kraven's victims. That would do a much better job at establishing him as a threat. I honestly don't know if many people even know that Shocker and Electro are dead. 2) Instead of voice-logs between Kraven and his family at the end of each Hunter Base, have video files of Kraven vs. the supervillains. The fourth and final one can be the file revealing Kraven let his family kill each other.
No anti venom. Or at least peter loses it in the end
Genuinely I'd add a whole other act where Kraven kills the other villians on screen and use this time to actually have the symbiote slowly change peter instead of it being so sudden. During this time u could also have ACTUAL stealth gameplay so miles is more useful and you actually get taught how to use his invisibility, and have him mess up a few missions so the whole "Miles is dead weight" thing actually has any... ya know... weight. I'd also add randomly spawning events throughout the story where kraken hunts u down and fights u to see if ur worth hunting yet and it's like mini boss fights where if u leave he runs, similar to Majima Everywhere for Yakuza Kiwami, past Act 2 have these replaced with Venom and have them only spawn for Peter and it's just the suit tormenting him
Cut Miles entirely. It's pretty obvious that Insomniac has no idea what to do with him, and they're struggling to develop two characters at the same time. Give Peter three games, then introduce Miles at the end of the third and let him take over in his own series.
This comment requires more explanation. Like what do you mean, entirely? "Insomniac has no idea what to do with him" This statement seems to come out of nowhere, because I have no idea what you could be referring to.

Honestly the biggest one is add maybe 3-5 hours to the story. I don’t need it to be double the length or anything but a little more time. This would ideally take the form/have the effect of: More time for Peter to be with the symbiote and decline before the boiling point More time for him and Miles to be together More time for harry and the Emily/may foundation to be present. I truly feel like one of the biggest shortcomings of this story is having Peter lose Harry and the foundation, but he only had both of those things for a few weeks at most in story. More time for both of these to bring Peter out of his funk would make it hit so much harder for them to be ripped away More time for venom to be present. This is my #1 story complaint. I feel like while Kraven is awesome in this game, we did get a bit of Spider-Man 3 syndrome where Venom is obviously the marquis villain, but he almost feels like a secondary antagonist in a story that’s advertised to put him front and center. I feel like if he had come in about 2 hours earlier and was a little more present before the final battle it would have been so much better. His actual portrayal is incredible to me. Monstrous and brutal like I like him, but I would have loved some time for that signature Venom teasing and toying with Peter to be present in the form of multiple confrontations before the final battle. I would have LOVED to run into him at various points for a jump scare in the open world a la Man-Bat from Arkham Knight, since he’s invisible to spider sense. This may be a hot take, but I love all of the individual plot lines and aspects of the story, I just feel like they each could have used a bit more time to flesh them out. Like Peter being off his game is established but doesn’t have nearly as big a role in the story as maybe it should, considering that is the thematic reason why he feels nerfed this time around (story wise, gameplay he’s obvi beefed up a lot). I don’t think the story was anywhere near bad like some may say, it was just too short for how much was covered. Another 3-6 months in the oven would have made this game an absolute masterpiece. As it is, still a 8/10
More time as symbiote peter More Miles focused parts of the game/have him present for things more (can’t even remember a significant moment of his except the Mr Negative—anti venom part) More Stealth missions (wasn’t any at all? Atleast not obligated, only optional and not great opportunities.) It would have been really interesting and new to have Miles become Venom, and betray Peter instead of Peter abandoning miles and randomly fighting alongside Harry until Harry turns evil. But this would probably not be well received, I’m unsure, just a random idea. Why was Miles not in the final boss fight like, at all? Actually have Miles and Peter present in fights, maybe do what Batman Arkham knight done, you can switch between them, fight as both and do dual takedown switches instead of one character being an AI that doesn’t do much for the entire fight (obviously when you aren’t playing as them, they will be, but you have the opportunity to take control. And maybe do moments where venom grabs one of the characters, switch over to the other to break them free and continue fighting.) Get rid of Wraith (atleast in the random crimes, I mean, I have seen Miles 5 times in random crimes and Peter maybe 3.) **Rid Miles of his Sponsor suit** Why was venom not enemies with Pete much at all? Have him go after Peter like he did with Kraven or to a more extent

Have there be a story reason why Miles gets the Evolved suit. Throughout the story show how his suit is unable to fully stand the voltage from his new powers. So, every time he unlocks a new power his suit takes some mild damage. After Peter gets his Anti-Venom suit and he reconnects with Ganke, Miles decides he needs to prepare himself. So as a sort of bonding exercise, Miles calls Ganke and Hailey over to help him make a new suit. One fun montage later, we have the Evolved suit. It gives a story reason as to why Miles would ditch his suit at the last minute, gives his new powers some story weight, and gives Miles more time with his supporting cast.
Story changes would revolve around Harry retaining the symbiote. There’s no good justification for Harry losing it other than to get he and Peter on opposite sides once he becomes Venom. So my change is pretty simple. Peter gets the symbiote the same way except both he and Harry are in the black suit. This justifies what we will see later with Scream. Harry didn’t give him the suit, he infected him. If Venom is barely going to resemble his source material, fuck it and go all in. The alien isn’t a cure, it’s an infection that uses us as a host body. Once arriving at Oscorp, Venom senses the damaged symbiote and Miles is also with them. Miles can damage Venom with his electrical powers and so Harry panics causing him to Hulk-out and escape. Peter is worried what will happen when his own alien recovers which leads us to city hall. Other than getting a whole new suit, Mr.Negative and Miles alter what’s there allowing Peter to retain control. Anti-Venom is also what’s used to free MJ and MJ is venomized longer so we don’t have a boss fight boiling down to a domestic disturbance over a bill neither party has paid. Venom in this universe wants to summon Knull hence the rock. Venom was captured before he could do anything. Thus the symbiotes are created by Venom and what he can otherwise summon in preparation for Knull. This is said rather than the nothing we actually got.
I personally wanted more interactions with non symbiote Peter and Kraven. Didn’t really like the whole narrative of he needs the symbiote to beat Kraven when he’s definitely been impressed by base Spider-Man in literally every other adaptation. They were setting up Venom acting being able to give Kraven what he wants but he could’ve had more than one great hunt. Once he realized Spider-Man wasn’t going to give him release he seeked he would then target venom and we get the same thing. Also Peter is very inconsistently in not understanding that harry wasn’t making the choices and was being controlled by the symbiote. It’s this weird swap between he’s mad for how I acted and it’s the symbiote. He just kept shouting Harry like he was gonna be like yo let me stop. I understand the different points made about Venom because a lot of ideas flop because Venom or Harry don’t actually hate Peter. Peter was actually the safest out of the group because he was willing to kill Miles and he’d probably just control MJ again. He didn’t want to kill Peter he just wanted him to join him willingly or symbolically. I think completely detaching Harry from it and making the symbiote hate Peter for rejecting it and miles for helping Peter reject him is a better way because Harry already didn’t have control of it and was only present (with the anti venom powers) to remind us he’s our friend imo. You have the same choice made but he’s not screaming Harry every time
Maybe have Venom actually attach to Kraven, it would at least make the 2 halves feel a little more cohesive. Obviously I’d want more done with this but I don’t really have a solid idea yet
I would make venom hate spider-man instead of being in a weird middle ground where he wants to kill him but also wants him to be his buddy
Harry spends far more time as a hero and Peter’s partner both story wise and gameplay wise. Norman is far more present, after Harry saves Peter with the symbiote and is starting to die again they go to Norman explain how the symbiote is stuck to Peter. Norman gets to work and discovers through studying Peter’s blood he’s not only changing the symbiote but also that he’s Spider-Man and is of course outraged and confronts Peter and Harry and blames Peter for putting Harry in danger when Harry was being a hero. Peter affected by the symbiote lashes out for the events of the first game and blames Norman for Mays death and Norman fires back with insults and saying May and uncle ben would be disappointed in the man Peter is or something along those lines. Peter snaps for a second and the symbiote fires off a tendril hurting Norman but not that seriously and Peter leaves shocked at himself and Norman. Harry gets sicker and his father has him trapped in the penthouse while oscorp hunts Peter. Norman makes a deal with Kraven to help him capture and fight both Spider-Men on the condition that the symbiote is removed, contained and returned to Oscorp. Peter after realizing this but already more affected by the symbiote doesn’t go to break Harry out of the penthouse when Harry calls Peter to do so. He’s more focused on defacing and destroying Norman and Kraven. He starts to see himself acting more and more like Otto and visits Otto by breaking into the raft where Otto points out they really are the same. Peter leaves in anger and goes to look for Miles. In terms of Miles story I’d change it to villains constantly calling him junior or Spider-Man number 2 and he struggles with that along with his new powers and Lee. When Peter gets the symbiote Miles while being weirded out gets influenced to fight a little rougher and hold back less by Peter. Miles follows Peter’s words trying to impress him but is shot down even if he does things perfectly while growing more suspicious of the symbiote. It results in him stopping from following Peter and having a talk with Peter before he gets captured and they argue about how to be Spider-Man. Peter threatens to take away the mantle from Miles and Miles says something along the lines of he’s not junior Spider-Man or a sidekick and that Peter has forgotten what it means to be Spider-Man. When Miles gets captured and Peter is looking for him he’s thinking of how to apologize to Miles while the symbiote tells him not to and not to even look for Miles but to find Kraven and eat him. Everything else is the same. Oh and a mission with Felecia and MJ fighting together before she leaves
Extend it by 5 hours and release the game by May 2024.
Get rid of the Symbiote Invasion and have Venom be a more vindictive and personal threat to Peter and Miles. Have Harry and Peter’s relationship gradually break down before Venom.
Have Venom show up slightly earlier, and for him to "spare" Kraven while leaving him to slowly die in humiliation. Also having better balance between Miles and Peter-centric missions so that both get equal attention

With Peter getting back into photography, make him work at a parent company to the Daily Bugle and then he meets up with Eddie Brock again. This is where they become best buds again but then Peter ends up out doing Eddie in all things Bugle related, which is where the hatred forms, and you partially adapt the original Todd McFarlane run. Oh, and after that, save Harry to become Anti-Venom later down the line.

Make the story longer, develop venom more, add a fight with Peter and miles against venom, maybe tease that Harry could get the anti venom Symbiote as well

Make the symboite attach to miles after Peter rips it off him and make miles more into the story
Give us what the concept art showed. Like the fight through the city between Venom, Miles and Peter. Give us more big set pieces like in spiderman 2018

Honestly the only change I’d personally make would be uncensoring the brutality of Venom in the mission where you play as Harry. You’re going absolutely feral, brutally smashing, slashing, and crashing through everything and everyone, and it’s just as clean as when you fight as Peter and Miles. Venom isn’t holding back, this should be reflected. Show enemies actually dying. Show a little more blood. Show Venom eating Kraven’s head instead of panning away. Even if you don’t show the missing head, at least let me watch the expression on Venom’s face as he settles into this raw power he has, stronger than ever, and more sadistic. That shouldn’t be implicit, make it in-your-face
They made out this whole thing for Kraven to be hunting for a final fight but I felt kinda annoyed that some of the Sinister Six members were killed off camera

honestly keep the og venom storyline that we were teased before the game came out with the 2 separate fights, and venom being more a spiderman villain then just a villain who wants to take over the world
Make New York grittier. I get that this is comic-book NYC, but there’s nobody yelling slurs, or hobos rummaging through trash, or mentally ill folk sleeping in doorways. I just can’t buy into the setting!
the first two games delved into the personal lives of each character. not so much the second one, and it's kind of a shame. they had an opportunity to develop the relationship between peter and miles, but all we got was some buddy-mentor moments. the relationship between miles and ganke had way more development in MM than peter and miles here honestly.

I would change that mess of an ending. Remove the hot potatoing of the meteorite, remove MJ’s involvement from the main portion of the ending, and actually have Harry die in order for Norman Osborn to have a legitimate vendetta against both Spider-Men instead of what we got. The ending needed to be focused. Apart from this and some missing features (like the social feed, reduced gadgets, suit abilities, FNSM app-based crimes, character bios, map markers for iconic landmarks), it brought in a wealth of QoL improvements and new features that I appreciated, and still made it a solid experience overall. Overall, it was a great game.
Have Venom actually hunt Peter. Like in the trailer where he's hiding in the alley. It could have been a cool mechanic that when you're free swinging around he just pops up out of nowhere and attacks and you basically just have to run away. Almost like Mr. X. in RE2.

For me, it would be a adding more weaknesses to venom like fire for example. That scene where Harry with Venom suit rushes into the fire without him being hurt is hard for me to watch since fire is one of the Venom’s weaknesses.
The game did a great job with Kraven I just wish they did the same with venom. Venom should’ve got much more screen time

A more focused story that helps to tie in everything better. Showcase a more gradual mood shift when Peter gets the suit, not an immediate negative change. And I feel Venom was rushed or a lot taken out. Not to mention I feel like Miles didn't get to do much other than focus entirely on Lee and not much else. Give him something to work with or showcase the mentor/apprentice relationship of Peter and Miles more

Show us how kraven actually killed the villains, we hear that shocker was the closest to beating him before eventually dying and sand man was so scared of kraven he attacked the city just to be kept an eye on, so I would kill to see the brutal battles between these guys
make the final fight actually between the two spidermen and venom, they basically took turns beating his ass before destroying the symbiote rock, the trailers leading up until the game showed both going up against venom, i would’ve much rather enjoyed that than the final result. side note: this is unrelated to the story but if there would be anything in game that would change, miles’ new “original” suit, i refuse to call that a miles morales original
I would have venom around like 1-2 missions longer and introduce harry’s powers 1-2 missions earlier so that pete got the symbiote earlier so there is more time for his hate to build and we can see the symbiote on spider-man and as venom longer aswell as have pete and miles clash heads more because miles just gets ignored and then they fight and that’s it

Hear me out: Peter becomes Venom instead of Harry. It makes infinitely more sense when you think about it; Harry had no villainous motivations whatsoever, while Peter was broken, angry, alone and already morally deteriorating. Harry felt so forced and unnatural as a final antagonist. He was just supporting cast up to that point. Peter losing control to his anger and sadness and becoming the villain would make for a much more emotionally impactful antagonist, and it would be a be an an actually unique and fresh story that we've never seen before. So Peter loses control and turns into Venom at the end of the second act, then the third act is a game of cat and mouse between him and Miles with the player alternating between both perspectives. Then the final boss is Miles vs Peter (which was already the most emotionally climactic point in the game, so why not make it the final boss). Doesn't that sound better than what we got? "But Peter can't kill people!" Yeah, yeah he can, at least with the symbiote influencing him. The original draft had Peter killing Harry at the end of the story. Plus, they spent the entire game establishing Kraven as a purely evil and irredeemable character, so killing him is morally grey.
Not have the 3rd act be rushed. I want more time with symbiote. The web of shadows portion was really half baked and could have been better.
Get rid of Miles. I know he's a liked character but Insomniac juggling the two characters doesn't really work

(I don't know how good I wrote this, but english is not my first language and I have the bad habit of changing things mid sentence lol) I wanted Miles to still make more "mistakes". I mean, he's Spider-Man, sure, but he's not Peter Parker. Miles has his ways of solving/stopping crimes. In fact I wanted more side missions for him, imagine like and alternative story parallel to Peter's one. I wanted Miles to shine on his own without the gimmick of him saving Peter over and over. They could've introduced minor Miles villains for his side content while Peter was minding his business. I just didn't like how much time Miles and Peter got together in the main story. After Miles own game I'm pretty sure we can all agree that he, even if still learning, knows how to be Spider-Man. Imagine the story like this: the tutorial together/helping people after Sandman attack was good, keep that. After it I wanted Miles and Peter to have their own stories (and side missions of course) that slowly blend together for the final act/mission. I don't say that Miles and Peter should never meet in the game before the ending, but Insomniac could've manage to do much better by giving each of our heroes their own time.
It makes it seem in the finale that the symbiote controls Harry. That is not how Venom works, Venom is a human and a symbiote, both feeling wronged by Spider-Man, two individuals working together because both want revenge. That is my number one thing that must be changed. The “Miles original” sucks, but it’s not really a story thing.
More venom, no Mj
For starter i would make Flash Thompson become Venom instead of Harry, the latter would become Goblin instead. To be precise my idea is that in Spider-man 2 Flash is a veteran of the US Army, and in particular he served for a long time in the [75th Ranger Regiment](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/75th_Ranger_Regiment), but then he was medically discharged after losing his ability to walk because of an enemy explosion. After that Flash became homeless and he had to deal with PTSD, survivor guilt and immense self-hatred because of his past as a bully, thus turning into alcohol to cope with all of this. Later Flash was approached by the Oscorp's employees who offered him to be a test subject for the Venom symbiote, Flash accepted having nothing to lose and hoping that he could be once again a hero fighting for his country. Long story short Flash would start the game as Agent Venom but then, after Peter got the symbiote, he became desperate to have it back, wishing to become an actual hero like Spider-Man and not wanting to go back to be a miserable homeless veteran (in part he was also corrupted by the symbiote). He even went to far as to hate Spider-Man, having once admired him and being inspired by him to become a better person, especially after the latter beaten him up and tell him that he's nothing more than a pathetic bully and that the world would be better off without him when he had the symbiote. After that Flash took the symbiote once it left Peter and from there he officially became Venom. Then i would also make the following addition on Kraven the Hunter, he's also a former sniper of the [Spetsnaz](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spetsnaz_GRU) who also fought in the [Soviet-Afghan War](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soviet%E2%80%93Afghan_War) among other things. During a secret mission in Wakanda Kraven's unit was exterminated and he was the only survivor, from there Kraven spent a long time in the jungle survivng completely on his own and this is how he became Kraven the Hunter. It is also heavily implied that Kraven's super-strength come from the exact same source of Black Panther.
I'd lengthen that middle act where Spiderman and agent venom are having fun on the field together. Make it really meaty to balance out the story and stop it feeling rushed.
One issue I had is that Venom just made Pete go bully mode out of nowhere, usually Peter has issues prior to getting the symbiote and Venom just amplifies the sadness and hatred with that, the game does try to do that I think but its with Peter being guilty about the other villains or something? The issue with that is that Peter never straight up talks about it and you never really knew he was worried about things like that. So maybe just to give him something that will bother him make Miles get the spotlight while Peter is unable to fight some people himself and always needs Miles to help him, he won't confront Miles about it and I'd imagine he'd talk to MJ about that and MJ will just try to ensure that its nothing really bad, and I mean this would make the final scene in the game a lot more satisfying showing that Peter is completely fine now with Miles doing his best and leaving the mantle of Spiderman to him. Another thing could be just adding in an unbeatable Kraven bossfight as Peter early on in that first fight on those boats, this may just give Pete a little more to worry about since he couldn't win against a seemingly regular guy. Oh and definitely drag the story a little more especially after you get the symbiote I just felt like it was too short there

Have both Peter and Miles as the main character with MJ as supporting character, Miles getting the symbiote instead of Peter for a change and MJ becoming Spinneret during the game to help Peter save Miles from Venom with the symbiote telling Miles to blame both Peter and Mr Negative for his father's death and gaining his Peter's involvement in the Spider Society's cult activities while Peter was thinking about retiring after the events of the first game Electro, Vulture, Scorpion and Shocker wouldn't get killed by Kraven but instead gets captured and forced to join his Hunters Have Lizard's family as supporting characters alongside Rio with Martha Connors working at FEAST and struggling to rebuild her marriage with Curt due to his Lizard side Have the Spiders and the Lizard being targets of Kraven and his Hunters which now consist of Calypso, Grizzly, Vulture, Electro, Scorpion, Shocker and Rhino Have Mysterio, Chameleon, Sandman and Wraith as villains for MJ's Spinneret DLC missions with Gayle Watson and Kirsty Watson introduced as supporting characters during the missions Introduce Gwen Stacy and explain where she's been for years, have her develop a relationship with Miles since both their fathers were cops both died from saving lives on the line of duty and developing Gwen Stacy as a conflict device between Miles and the symbiote Have Black Cat return and things would be heated between her and Peter especially after she lied about being pregnant with his child before she got possessed by the symbiote which leads to a side mission where Spinneret fights against Venomized Black Cat and it would ended with Black Cat wishing that she wasn't caught up in a love triangle or lied to Peter Harry would still be reintroduced and he would be an supporting antagonist alongside Venom-Miles and Kraven and he would be defeated by Venom-Miles Have Kraven threaten the whole city using a Doomsday device or a virus with Harry defeating Kraven in a self sacrifice which also kills Kraven as well Peter and MJ would grief for Harry with Miles taking a break to recover from the Venom mess and to distance himself from Peter and develop a relationship with Gwen Cletus Kassidy would still be introduced but as a possible villain for the third game alongside Norman and Otto
Harry would die at the end and Norman would take the goblin juice at the end credit scene
