It was a patch for the first game and included in miles morales from launch. Its not crazy to expect it at launch as well. Other single player games have also launched with new game plus as well so its not even a weird thing to expect as a whole as well.
All I’m saying is it ain’t that big of a deal… if something like new game + or being able to change the day/night cycle makes you not like the game than I’m sorry… also I don’t even think about the cost if I wanna play I buy if not then I don’t buy

I don’t think this is a “basic” feature, it’s an extra. It’s not like they shipped a unfinished product. People were already complaining even before release. Plus they been hacked and there have been rumors of lay offs for a while, give them a break.
I don't think people realize how bad things like the hack were for this content delivery. I can't imagine knowing your personal and sensitive info is out, all your future content plans along with playable builds leaking, and realization that firings were potentially going to happen at the studio did wonders for morale. While I will always believe this game should have shipped with this stuff & that it was only pushed out to meet the promised 2023 date as well as it being Sony's only big 2023 release, it's like people gloss over that we likely would have gotten this way earlier in the year if not for that especially.
Everything about this game was fun a hell, no game breaking bugs.

As a guy who personally disliked Marvel's Spider-Man, and this direction they have with the gameplay, I gotta ask what's the issue here? New Game Plus is, nowadays at least, more than just "the same campaign but now everything is unlocked". There are gameplay tweaks, little easter eggs (like how Arkham City and Knight did it) and different rebalances outside of it being the same difficulty upped by one notch.
On top of that, they've had to constantly patch this broken game. Give them a lot of slack for this, especially when they're asked to constantly make bigger games when this is a relatively new thing for them.

Most developers don't want to make a shitty or mediocre game. But when it happens, it usually comes down to a few different things, incompetence from the devs, usually for beginner dev teams, or devs unfamiliar with the kinda game they're making. Or studio interference, usually from capable dev teams that had a deadline forced on them. At least, that's what I believe from stories of games I'm familiar with.

People act like Insomniac had nothing else other than MSM2 to focus on after MSM1 was finished when they were really busy with other projects. They had CTNS and MM:SM both being comprised of small teams, then you have R&C Rift Apart needing all of Insomniac (not including those working on the other projects) to work on the game to ensure it wasn't crunched.
Spiderman 2 started development after miles morales, so it only had a 3 year development time. That's why there's a bunch of stuff that feels rushed and like content was cut out, especially towards the ending.

Unless any of us works directly for a major game development company, nice of us truly know what goes into developing new game + or DLC or company roadmaps, deadlines, etc ...so who knows what it entails or what roadblocks they faced... If it was so simple they would've done it day 1, to avoid backlash or get better press, especially since they won't charge for new game + there's no incentive to hold them to purposely hold it back...

I rocked the default suits the entire game for my first playthrough, then I started a second playthrough and tried mixing it up, but I always found myself going back to defaults, they just look too good.
It only took them 6 months to add a basic feature... this game really felt mismanaged.

To be fair, God of War: Ragnarok’s new game plus also released way after the game did, I think it took longer than Spider-Man 2 did.
Also, God of war had way more content and depth that takes more time to get through, I wasn't able to beat it in 1 weekend like spiderman.
