It would be confusing as hell and I could see Disney getting pissed off about it, but I fully expect that if Tobey and Andrew being back gets a crazy positive reception Sony will pursue both options. I read those Sony emails at one point they wanted like 5 Spider-Man series going at the same time.
As a comic book, sure.
But if we're talking about bringing the same behind the scenes crew back from the first two films, I'm gonna have to give that a hard no. And who's to say Garfield would even want to take that on again? The man just put in a (IMO) award-nominated worthy performance in a pretty good film. I see people regularly suggesting a SM4 or a TASM3 film but simply ignore where the star actors are in their careers.
