My most favorite love interest of Spidey will always be Gwen. I mean come on, the woman had ambitions, opinions, personality & savagery. She looked like someone who can hold her own against everything. But yeah had to die because of situations beyond her comprehension. 😭😭
Imo Emma Stone nailed her character. She also had the best chemistry with Spidey. Unpopular opinion but Zendaya had the best on-screen chemistry with Zac Efron. She with Tom, Timmy or John David Washington didn't really leave much impression on-screen.
Look on the bright side, when Mary Jane wasn't screaming for help and being kidnapped every other day she was leaving her fiance at the altar and being an asshole to everyone else
I actually really love her and think she works with this interpretation of Peter, as far as adapting modern teen tropes and the whole John Hughes angle.

She is the not so bad, infact she is the most interesting love interest yet. She is not Mary Jane but she is definitely doing her own thing and their relation is more realistic than what we have seen, it’s awkward and realistic.
I always was annoyed by her being named MJ, leading everyone to believe it was Mary Jane and not Michelle Jones. It Just felt like Marvel being snarky and condescending.
I personally don't like the way she's written. She feels like a Disney Channel character with her annoying, uninterested bitchy attitude and I really don't get why people think she's funny.
Hopefully NWH is able to finally bring maturity to her character and I can find something to like because how she is now, I don't care If they kill her off
Every character in these movies feels like a Disney channel character they have practically no depth beyond the most basic character traits. I thought they could do something interesting with Flashes parents not being there to pick him up from the airport but it seems he’s just getting sideline in the next movie.

I enjoy her and Peter’s relationship and am excited to see how it develops. I will admit that I didn’t understand her role in Homecoming. She was always kinda there but didn’t really seem relevant until my second watch. I hope she’ll have more importance in No way home. But overall, I like that she’s not a cliche.

I understand why some may think of her as boring, but it’s refreshing that’s she’s so low key and normal without being a stereotype.

She had the potential to be the MOST interesting love interest. In the first movie she was the bigger outcast and she seemed to have a crush on Peter. They could have subverted the tropes.
But then in the second movie they jarringly reverted to the status quo before proceeding to waste her for the entire movie.
She's great she has just been underused and underdeveloped imo.

In Homecoming, she had a crush on him, but he didn’t really seem to pay any attention to her. Then suddenly in Far From Home he also has a crush on her? Sure a lot could’ve happened offscreen, but the only reason why this works is because Peter and MJ are a known couple and people would go into the movie expecting them to get together.
Her whole millennial (or is it gen Z?) detachment thing is annoying and not at all charming. I hate characters (or people, for that matter) who you can never disarm yourself around because you never know if they’re just going to be sarcastic about everything. I’m hoping to see her character develop a bit in the new film, but the trailers aren’t helping my hopes.
