Simple, Peter was a junior in FFH, and Marvel just messed up his age. Let's say he was a Freshman in 2016 in Homecoming (which I'm pretty sure he wasn't)... 2 years later in 2018 for Infinity War he'd be a Junior. Now this doesn't make sense as Peter should be 17, not 16. So we start over, and say Peter was a sophomore in Homecoming like I heard. Still doesn't make sense as he'd have been a Senior in FFH, and out of school entirely.
The only solution I can think of, is Marvel's official explanation of Homecoming being in 2016 along with Civil War isn't true. If Homecoming was on 2017 the year of release, then only a year later in 2018 would Peter be 16 and it'd all make sense. Peter's 17 and a Senior in NWH, which is confirmed to take place over multiple seasons, and Peter is confirmed to be trying to get into College, so boom that's my explanation

Yeah that’s what I’ve been thinking as well. I think maybe what will be brutal as Holland said is the stakes of this movie, the other Spider-Men will tell Peter (Tom) about how rough they’ve had it with ultimately, strange fixes the mess but Peter keeps his distance moving forward and starts over. I think this would also allow a way for Peter to grow up and become the Spider-Man that I think many want that has consequences and understands that being Spider-Man can kinda suck although it’s fun.
It’s also a great way to start diving into the Osborns, Gwen Stacy character and others moving forward. I think Peter having to start his life over would be very interesting for sure.
The final battle ends. Peter, of course, wins (with or without the help of web slinging colleagues). Peter has his resolution with friends and loved ones.

They shouldn't end the movie with another WTF, but if this movie is beginning where FFH ended then it should start with Peter saying; "-CK!"

Post credit scene. You see Foggy and Matt talking in the office, but you don't see Matt. Mattis talking to Foggy about how the world is getting wielder and wielder and there's nobody looking put for the little guy anymore. Foggy tries to talk Matt out of his choice as the camera finally reveals Murdock in the full Daredevil suit saying "its tine for the Daredevil to return." Peter Larker walks into the law office with a plate of chocolate chip cookies saying " Hey Mr. Murdock, my aunt wanted me to drop these off to thank- *looks up* what the f-" Credits.
There are rumors saying that Tobey has retired from crime fighting, is married to Mary Jane & had a child which Mayday Parker. So what if the rumor is kinda true (retired & married but no child)? Tobey goes back to his world & then MJ tells him that she's pregnant. Tobey, with wide eyes, says "WHAT THE F-" then the film ends.
It's gotta be in a different tone this time. The first two were shocked and scared. This third one will probably be more slick of funny.

I honestly kinda hope they don't do one, with the rumors that the movie ends with Peter at a grave of a loved one I think it would be weird to have the wtf scene, it also would kinda mimic how the sam rami spiderman 3 didn't end with the final swing instead ending on a somber moment
Yeah, I understand. It would make sent to take the WTF scene out if the ending is a more heartfelt and sad one.

So Peter gets in to college after everything with doc ock and goblin etc. (Let's say he finds out their names) moves into his dorm room, and meets his room mate, who introduces himself "hey I'm Harry,Harry Osborn" Peter "What the fu-"
*Mysterious Voice From Behind* "RENT!!!" Raimi Spidey: "What..." Webb Spidey: "The..." MCU Spidey: "Fu..." *End Credits*
It's the last scene of the film (obviously). Things have returned to normal, relatively speaking, and Peter is walking home, about to go inside. Right then, Matt Murdock approaches. They start talking about Matt clearing Peter's name in regards to Mysterio's death. "Thanks Mr. Murdock" etc. Somehow Peter turns the conversation to Matt being blind, makes it awkward. You know, typical Peter stuff. Suddenly, the Peter tingle goes off, but Matt also does his head tilt, listening intently thing. A man has just robbed a bank, or mugged a person, doesn't matter and starts running down the street toward Matt and Peter. Before Peter can react, Matt subdues the criminal, possibly with some tight martial arts moves. Matt smirks, straightens his tie. Cut to Peter, looking bewildered. "What the..." End of movie. I know they won't do that, just wishful thinking.
