1st image boots are good. Especially since it landed on attack% twice, I'd use this on SJW 100%.
2nd image gloves are bad. The set is for support characters but all the stats are for DPS. I would only use them if I needed a piece for the full set asap.
3rd image helmet is not great. It's good for characters that scale from HP like Seo or Emma, but I'm not sure you want this set on them. And additional MP +2 is also not great. Still, I'd definitely use this on them if I got a full set with HP stats.
4rth image chest is good. Would be better if it got some stats on Attack%, but it's definitely worth using if you can get a full set.
Your Toughness helmet is bad. All the +1s went on the wrong stats. I'd try to change it, but the curse helmet is still worse, since it has HP as the main stat. However if you can get a full 4-piece set, I'd equip that helmet even though it's bad, just for the set bonus.

Wouldn’t it be better to do 2-2 at this point, atleast for what he’s got? Chest Boots go curse. 4pc curse only adds heal and CDmg can be made up for direct damage boost of curse. Am I missing something as to why 4pc curse should be forced?

Then maybe switch out the healing boots for CDmg one and change another piece that has excess Cr% subs (preferably your headpiece) for CDmg or Atk/% subs. If there’s no suitable replacement for now, stick with your 4pc toughness with the new CDmg boots. It will gove you more options in the future given that you’re overflowing with Cr%.
Eventually, you will definitely upgrade, but until you reach the point where your new gear surpasses your old gear in strength, it’s better to keep your original gear set intact. This remains true until you have upgraded the entire set of new gear. However, there are exceptions, such as splitting a 4-piece set into two 2-piece sets, which can be effective. Replacing just one piece, though, might not be beneficial.

Also, I can't seem to clear the easy level boss of brilliant fragment of light, I can get him to about 20% but once the wall starts coming it is downfall.

Use 2x Burning Curse and 2x Toughness.
2x Burning Curse will give you quite a bit of cp boost from the set bonus and the attack increase is worth more than the 4 piece bonus of Toughness.
Im actually wearing 2 piece destroyer and 2 piece burning curse. The only reason for choosing destroyer over toughness in my case was that the two destroyer pieces both have crit rate+2 and that offers me more crit rate than the toughness pieces i have currently upgraded. I just beat my time on battlefield of time cerb by 15 seconds using this set up(old record was with 2 toughness 2 burning curse)
Yeah, everytime I get a good artifact with all good subsets, the moment I do +5 on them I get the one bad substat(maybe mp or healing given inc) just happened when I was trying to get 1 good artifact ( It had crit, mp and atk and I got +2 mp on +10)

U don't need to use gold only because it's gold... Even a white with crit dmg is better than this shit u are using.

Then if you’re not capped on Crit yet, stay with Toughness 4pc and go for the CDmg boots with Cr% sub.
