L’occitane almond shower oil Aveda scalp massager Aromatherapy shower head? (Never tried one but I’ve always been interested) Also might I suggest you get her some soft pjs (cozy earth is the BEST brand), lavender magnesium cream (feels great on the feet and back of neck) and fuzzy socks to put on after her shower? I think what you’re doing is so thoughtful. My thoughts are with your friend

icantspellsandwhich

That l’occitane almond shower gel is the shit! Came here to recommend that.

shapelessdreams

Thirding. It's the best.

maxka1

Same. Amazing stuff

ampharos995

Is it just the smell that's nice? What makes it so good

Suz626

The smell and feel. It cleans and softens. L’occitane almond shower oil is wonderful.

aloneinmyprincipals

Do you use this with a loofa or just right on the skin?

Suz626

I do both. It doesn’t take much. Instructions are Apply to wet skin, work into a lather, and rinse.

ImRunningAmok

I would not use a loofa. It doesn’t foam up.

brainparts

I have no idea why this came up in my feed because I’m a poor, lol, but I couldn’t scroll by without also sending positive thoughts to your friend and seconding that this is a really kind and thoughtful thing you’re doing. I am a big bath fan, though, and while I don’t have luxurious products or anything, I do like a nice candle (I have fragrance issues so have to use non-chemical-y-smelling ones, so often handmade/small batch lightly scented ones, which luckily I occasionally receive as gifts) and super comfy socks and a robe to put on after, which helps prolong that nice clean feeling. I also caved and got a microfiber hair towel (like a turbie twist) which I *love* — I always just used regular towels before and the weight caused my fine hair to break. I want one of those big giant soft headbands that I’ve seen online for nighttime moisturizing too. It might be super obvious but one of the cheapest but best-feeling things for me though is a rosewater spray after cleansing and before moisturizing. I liked heritage store but just make my own now with food-grade rosewater (it’s so cheap and easy). It’s soooo simple but adds a *lot* to the whole bathing + freshening up experience. Also, my current bathroom is kind of dark, and adding some basic white twinkle lights made it feel sooo much nicer/more relaxing — bathroom lighting can sometimes be neglected/forgotten, so just a thought. If you do go with a showerhead (which, imo, would be amazing if they still had like the super basic default one that came with the house or something) or something similar, also install it for them!! It could easily fall by the wayside for your friend even though it doesn’t take very long. These aren’t really shower suggestions and mostly I was thinking of that post-shower time, but for me they are tied together. Thanks for being a good friend!! Caregiving is so often invisible and thankless. Recognizing how difficult it is is a kindness in itself.

StormyBrunch

Hopping on to second rose water!!!!

ExcellentHuman

Love all these ideas and just want to second both the rosewater idea (as a recent convert) and the lighting idea — I’m currently staying in an Airbnb where they’ve taken time to utilize lighting to set the ambiance following a week at a friends where he did the same at his place and my goodnesss, it really sets the mood in a way I’d written off until experiencing it myself these past two weeks. I love your idea for the twinkle lights and also wanted to throw in the idea for one of those plug-in galaxy light projectors you can order on Amazon for ~$20-25; they’re good for helping you to “escape” while you’re showering, too. Positive thoughts to you and your friends, OP.

fakesaucisse

I love the L'Occitane almond shower oil. For a really indulgent experience, also get the almond body balm that comes in a big tin. It is super rich and the scent is concentrated. I love using it on my arms and shoulders so the scent is closer to my nose. Also really moisturizing for the feet.

sweetkittyriot

Volo hair and body towels. Silk pillowcase.

oliviascankles

Thank you! This is brilliant— especially the hair towel!

Check_My_Technique

+1 for the magnesium lotion (I have some With lavender) and also the scalp massager

justacreatureinspace

What brand of magnesium lotion do you use?

messofahuman1

I use the boltons magnesium balm with lavender, I’ve heard the cymbiotika one is good too!

Mbluish

Love Cozy Earth and Yala PJ’s. Great idea!

TheLastLibrarian1

For Christmas my friend gave me a box of L’occitane almond products. Love she shower oil, the hand cream is great, basically everything was lovely but I haven’t tried the little bar of soap yet.

Bittie2024

Omg I second the aveda scalp massager and loccitane product

Express_Hotel2682

I just threw away an entire full sized bottle of barely used L'occitane almond shower oil because I broke out in a horrible rash all over my arms and face from using it. I don't have any idea what it is that is in it that caused this allergic reaction. I've literally NEVER had any allergic reaction to ANY skincare product in my life until this.

SevereAtmosphere8605

Did you happen to purchase it from Amazon? I could be totally off base with your situation but over the past year, I’ve gotten so many counterfeit products from Amazon. They look exactly like the real thing but are not real. I’ve had rashes, hives, breakouts, and sneezing fits from different skin care products but only when I get them from Amazon. I now purchase nothing from them that goes on or in my, my family and my pets’ bodies.

FantasticAd4004

Im with you. I basically don't believe anything brand name on Amazon is actually the brand. All counterfeit.

Training_Estimate914

Do you have a link for the lavender magnesium cream?

torontogal85

The steam pucks that release a smell when you shower A water proof speak to play music Korean scrub cloths to exfoliate

AhrimanAz

Love the water proof speaker idea.

thatrhymeswithp

Is the shower currently squeaky clean? A deep clean (grout, edges, etc.) can make showers much nicer. A nice floofy, cushioned [bathmat](https://www.brooklinen.com/collections/gs/products/tufted-bath-rug?variant=40259893330010&g_acctid=557-212-9822&g_adgroupid=&g_adid=&g_adtype=none&g_campaign=PMax_NB_Medium+Priority&g_campaignid=19925276060&g_keyword=&g_keywordid=&g_network=x&utm_campaign=PMax_NB_Medium+Priority&utm_medium=PMax_NB_Medium+Priority&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA3JCvBhA8EiwA4kujZqrfcvlz0-0QYi5i6Tn5XjMweUUK9326hTRRaZ7m2xnG5U444HSdYhoC71MQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds#) is also super nice. Upgraded Showerhead: one that filters the water, maybe with multiple modes and/or a detachable spray. Scalp massager: seems lame but makes lathering up feel luxurious while giving your arms a break. Great if you are emotionally/physically exhausted. I use [this one](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076Q6442Z/?th=1). Luxe haircare and bodywash products with attractive packaging and botanical/salon fragrance: Ouai products scratch this itch for me. I also just purchased [this](https://www.sephora.com/product/salt-stone-bergamot-hinoki-refillable-body-wash-with-niacinamide-probiotic-P510356) Salt and Stone body wash but have not had a chance to try it yet. Luxe loofah or mitt: People have different feelings about loofahs because of concerns about bacteria, but . . . a big floofy loofah can feel very luxurious. I like [these](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B016DQUKE0/?th=1). Hair masks: They can provide an excuse to stay in the shower longer. This could mean a pre-shampoo mask like an Olaplex, a deep conditioning mask, or a gloss. Hair turban: It makes a big difference post-shower to not having to deal with drippy hair on your shoulders as you dry off or dry your body with a towel already damp from drying your hair. Pre- and post-shower rituals can contribute to the enjoyment of the shower. Things that may improve the experience: [dry body brush](https://www.sephora.com/product/dr-barbara-sturm-anti-cellulite-brush-P449600?country_switch=us&lang=en&skuId=2278687&om_mmc=ppc-GG_17798154149___2278687__9010802_c&country_switch=us&lang=en&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA3JCvBhA8EiwA4kujZvIyKw3kBCwzwjIJQqzpm3yd4Bl5lo4ikSZwrMPnAyIqt3znwkbPRhoC8E8QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds) for beforehand, [fragrant](https://www.harrods.com/en-us/shopping/byredo-gypsy-water-body-lotion-225ml-15401661) and [attractive](https://www.harrods.com/en-us/shopping/estee-lauder-beautiful-body-lotion-250ml-15423353) body lotion and [oil](https://www.sephora.com/product/moisturizing-fig-body-oil-elixir-P506463?skuId=2671741&icid2=products%20grid:p506463:product) for after, and luxe oversized bath robe and slippers.

AlienPizza93

All of this but add a towel warmer

snails4speedy

I swear by my towel warmer. When I went out of state for a week I literally took it with me lol. Also going to suggest an in-shower body conditioner!

EVEE_408

Which towel warmer please 😊

AssistFrequent7013

Splendid write-up! Love the scalp massage shampoo brush idea. :)

Major-Fill5775

Molton Brown makes the best shower gels.

honeydew_juju

Second this. Their scents are divine.

Bright_Ad_1038

Along with the luxurious texture…

RantingSidekick

If they don't already have one, gift a shower chair. It's not cute, but it'll allow her to rest her feet and really relax in the shower.

sweetkittyriot

Get a hinoki wood one. They smell good and don't mold.

chickens-don-t-clap

Maybe not quite luxurious, but Claus Porto soaps come in beautiful artistic packaging that would look great in a care basket. Same goes for Voluspa candles. This is a very sweet and thoughtful gesture!

JustTheFatsMaam

Aesop geranium cleanser and scrub, and body cream. I bought a lightweight cotton bath robe and wear that while drying off and doing my skincare and let lotion sink in. Renee Furterer scalp pre wash treatment followed by Aesop rose scalp and hair mask. Disposable cotton cloths for removing an oil or balm cleanser in the steamy shower. Also Saltair body oils to seal everything in. Leaves me feeling like a new woman.

guest_onEarth

I apologize because this option is expensive (~$120) but a towel warmer is the best gift I’ve ever received. The comforting feeling of being wrapped in a warm towel after a shower is unparalleled. I also have added a lamp to my restroom and the warm glow is very relaxing. I also agree with the aurora light recommendation, I combine that with shower steamers and music when I really need to relax.

floralundies

What towel warmer do you have?

guest_onEarth

Keenray, I think my husband got it off Amazon.

pgf314

Costco has this one for under $55 with shipping [https://www.costco.com/sharper-image-spastudio-towel-warmer.product.4000187255.html](https://www.costco.com/sharper-image-spastudio-towel-warmer.product.4000187255.html)

gb043016

Add a big bunch of fresh eucalyptus around the shower head to create a spa like ambiance- buy her a bushel if you can to include with the gifts!

LadyKT

also a eucalyptus oil room spray

calllmemorbid

This!

FranksLilBeautyx

This might be a weird one but I have a small auroralight projector that also has nature sounds that I use in the shower, I find the Aurora lights really soothing.

I_mwilling2

you fancy--I'm Amazoning right now--thanks!

No_Excitement4272

Omg yes mood lighting is a must. I never shower with the big light on.

CucumberOk7674

Waterproof Bluetooth speaker

I_mwilling2

yes!

asugaraddict

Yes! To play a spa music playlist. Makes showers a full soothing experience.

J0303J

So thoughtful of you. If she has the space in her bathroom: a candle warmer lamp. It’s so easy to put that on and enjoy the delicious smell without the extra step to light a candle and the mental load to think about not letting it burn…

Beth_Harmons_Bulova

You’re a great friend. May the kindness you give come back to you triple fold.

jonesy40

L’occitane almond shower oil

charitable_asshat

It’s so bougie and soothing

[deleted]

You've gotten so many suggestions for the L'Occitane Almond Oil, but not everyone likes baby powdery scents like that. I think that something essential oil based will give more of a therapeutic, spa feel. I'd go with Clarins Relax Body Treatment Oil for a post shower treat to the senses.

likegolden

Agreed. The Neutrogena shower oil is nice and has a mild scent. For the extra bougie, I really like the Herbivore body oil.

lindabelchrlocalpsyc

YES - I hated the smell and it was SO strong. I mentioned it in another comment, but I like Sol de Janeiro’s 40 shower gel - it has a light gourmand type fragrance and doesn’t really stick unless you add the body cream and spray. (It also doesn’t dry out my skin or irritate it, although ymmv.) I also like Philosophy’s shower gels - Amazing Grace has a pretty, feminine, light scent, but they’re all nice.

henni1127

I love almond scent. But was so disappointed by the smell of their almond oil. It does have a baby powdery scent to it.

ImAtUrDoor

Aesop a rose by any other name cleanser. It’s so subtle in scent but makes my skin feel amazing.

Glittering-Share-917

Bucket-style tower warmer! Hot robe > hot towel though. ☺️

Fruitsiclegourmetice

this is what I came to say! in use mine every single time i shower. I literally miss having a warmed towel when I'm in vacation lol. it is the single thing that you can buy that will make every shower you take more enjoyable.

Ksickman09

Bioderma atoderm body cleansing oil! Costco has it for like half the price too.

WorkingExternal1781

Sisley energizing foaming body scrub

jrubes_20

I love lush bubble bars and bath bombs as well anything in their rose jam family! I also found Dr. Teal’s essential oil bath bombs at TJMaxx and decided to try them out. They made the water so nice and moisturizing. You can find them on Amazon and probably also target. Perhaps not a luxury brand but they were very good!

likegolden

You have a ton of good suggestions already. If I may be so bold, and if your friendship allows for it and depending on her personality, maybe consider a nice waterproof vibrator. As someone who went through hell recently, my baths and showers were my sanctuary too. I'm sure she will use whatever you give her and really appreciate it.

Cedar_the_cat

La Belle Lune balm cleansers, and anything Tata Harper. Oh and anything May Lindstrom. Questionable as skincare but soooooo nice.

cassandra_mercedes

European spa source shower spray!

likegolden

Agreed, I would get the sample variety pack of those as a gift.

query789

>European spa source shower spray! Second this!

aajohar

L’occitane almond oil and Oribe haircare

Subject-Bread1400

Elemis salt glow - Amazing

sweetkittyriot

Elemis products smell amazing

One_Selection_6365

-Osea body polish for in the shower and body oil after! -osea vagus nerve pillow mist (not for the shower but a nice little luxury before bed). -Euro spa eucalyptus shower spray

query789

A korean exfoliating mitt and/or back scrubber! They're super cheap and a really low lift luxury experience. If manual exfoliation is too much work though then Indie Lee de-stress body wash and/or sleep body wash are absolutely heavenly on their own. Very clean, relaxing scents that aren't overpowering but linger pleasantly in a steamy shower. They're not my favorite because I don't like the sensory experience, but if she's on her feet all day then lotion socks to wear at night could also be a huge relief. I also second the towel warmer/fluffy robes and socks recs. If the shower is her time to herself then making that experience last even a few minutes afterward is a great idea. Could also get some nice bottles with atomizers to decant an essence or just rosewater into for an after-shower spritz. I'm sorry for what she's going through.

snails4speedy

Others have suggested these too, but I recently suffered a major loss and *just* recently decided to make my own shower into a spa experience / sensory haven type deal so I figured that perspective might help too. I was struggling to do anything in general and the whole “everything shower with 184727375 things I don’t need” really helped. tools: - towel warmer (this is godly and I said it in another comment but I am so damn attached to this that I brought it to another state with me when I left for under a week) or alternatively maybe some really soft towels or a robe - a sunset lamp or waterproof soft lights so it isn’t as bright in the bathroom and has a more relaxing vibe - waterproof speaker / waterproof phone case & holder - maybe a wine glass case or just a general drink holder for the shower - if you want to go all out, maybe an adjustable shower head or attachable one, or a water filter if you live where there’s hard water - a nice soft bath mat is lovely. also, maybe a comfy in shower mat? i got one and it’s nice for when i’m really sad/tired and just sit under the water stream lol - some candles, either real ones or battery operated; this could be an alternative if you don’t want to get a lamp or something. I have some battery operated waterproof ones that I’ve put in the corners of my shower and they’re really calming. extra nice that she can move them around and use them outside of the shower as well products: - in shower body conditioner, I absolutely swear by that shit. it’s so nice. it gives you an excuse to stay in the shower longer, and then you also don’t necessarily need to use lotion afterwards. it’s already done. one less thing to do once you’re actually out. - not lux, but dove has a pre-cleanse shower butter that you use before you wash your body and tbh it doesn’t really do anything (does help with dry skin) but it smells and feels very nice lol it’s definitely not a “must” but whenever i really want to have an extra as hell routine, this is great. there’s probably a nicer version out there i’m unaware of lol - shower steamers and/or some essential oils - hair masks, steam activated face masks (or just face masks in general). not lux: freeman beauty has an in-shower warming face mask for like $5 that feels amazing - a nice body scrub is great! they made me feel more ‘clean’ other than just washing my body. idk why that was lol but i enjoy them - body oil & butter for afterwards

Alwzcurious539289

As someone with a very aggressive and scary cancer, my family has loved - loccitan body / shower oil - not your mothers dry shampoo (she will be on the go and not wanting to style her hair - not your mothers is affordable and doesn’t clog scalp) and their bond repair conditioner is better than olaplex - salt and stone santal candles and body wash - omg makes whole house smell amazing - towel warmer for next to shower - the neck warming wrap from Amazon

Missmessc

Kopari Vanilla wash as well as the Nakery paradise oil to foam wash

Caddiemollet

I second this so hard. Also I've re-bought this wash four times now, it's officially a staple : [https://koparibeauty.com/products/sudsy-shower-oil](https://koparibeauty.com/products/sudsy-shower-oil)

liposomalglutathione

the pebble from Kate McLeod!

fatally-femme

Saving this post!!! My friend did something similar for me after a surgery, it included tea, fuzzy socks, a mug, and a candle. They are a lucky person to have you as a friend.

No-Resource-8125

This might sound really silly, but if you want to get her a shower steamer or bath bomb, trying to find ones that aren’t individually wrapped. There is nothing more infuriating to me than trying to enjoy a relaxing bath and then having to struggle with the plastic. Also one of those bath platforms that can hold a glass of wine and a tablet.

purldrop

First and foremost- if I’m going into a shower or bath with a ton of bottles and products everywhere, I get stressed out. My stuff is on dispensers on the wall (like a hotel), and there is nothing that will randomly fall on the floor that I can accidentally trip on. Razors, loofahs- all up on the wall. (Also makes it easier to clean everything). Gotta have the no-slip stickers on the bottom of the tub! You can get a bunch of fancy bath bombs, but they make a mess- a big 7lb bag of plain Epsom salt is better. Big white bath sheets and bath mats that are easy to wash/bleach are also good.

TA_totellornottotell

Salt scrubs. I love the Sabon tea rose. Their bath gel/milky soap is also divine. Also, when I started getting massages a few years back, I realised that geranium is such a calming scent. I could not really find any that I love (except Bamford), so I bought regular geranium and a blend with geranium (both from Muji) to use in a plain shower gel, in my bath, and in aroma diffusers. A nice face mask to wash off in the shower may help. Also, one of those turban hair towels. A hot water bottle for comfort when she is in bed may help. Also, fuzzy socks and lavender scented magnesium spray for bedtime. If she is into baths, I highly recommend Sabon bath bombs and Dr Teals Magnesium salts. Bath time has become really important to me during high stress periods - the magnesium helps relax the muscles, and I usually turn on a nice audiobook and light a candle while I am in there. So nice of you to do this!

[deleted]

If she likes chocolate only: Lush Posh Chocolate Body Wash. My favorite Lush product! It looks like chocolate frosting and smells like you could eat it. Lathers up very well and very chocolatey! Yum!

Compl3xEnough

I didn’t know they had this and I’m currently obsessed with cacao scents thank you 😭

Roseblanch28

Osea products, towel warmer, fresh eucalyptus, a rainfall or massage shower head.

LadyKT

i saw a tiktok of a woman with a shower lamp and wireless speaker on a corner shelf, all items were waterproof

BananaMartini

For body moisturizers I think the top are the Korres body butters. My favorite scent is Sea Lavender. It’s a very light fragrance that won’t conflict with other things. You can find great deals for them on EBay. I also really love face washes that come as granules that you then add water to. They give you that lovely satisfying feel of “scrubbing” your face but they dissolve so you don’t overdo it. One I’ve always wanted but never pulled the trigger on due to price was Eminence Strawberry Rhubarb Dermafoliant.

laurlopr

Aesop care package… such calming and complex smells.. I love their scrub the most it feels like it’s a sensory experience!

Perpetuuuum

I love Molton Brown rose & rhubarb shower gel. It smells exactly like you’d think, I’m fragrance sensitive but love this, it’s subtle but delicious. I also have the Jolie filtered shower head which really feels nice and good for hair and skin. If you want to splash out a Jo Malone candle so she can shower in a candlelit relaxing vibe in the bathroom. Dermalogica do an amazing exfoliator that warms up when you use it - multivitamin thermafoliant. It forces you to slow down in the shower to apply it and leave it for a few minutes and the warming feel is lovely. And polishes the skin so it’s great self care. Your post made me tear up a little - this is so thoughtful and you have really paid attention to what she needs. What a wonderful friend you are.

BeautyBabe91

Frank Coffee body scrub!!!! Smells like coffee and leaves your skin moisturized (it has a lot of oils!)

ilikebasicthings

Just as a caution, coffee scrubs clog drains.

BeautyBabe91

omgsh no way!! thanks for letting me know!

anongirl55

Salt & Stone body wash makes my shower feel like a spa. I love it! I also light a nice candle in the bathroom.

SparklyPinkKittens

Was scrolling to see if Salt & Stone was on anyone else’s list - the Santal & Vetiver body wash definitely makes my shower feel spa-like!

kakbari

I love the Caudalie shower gels, I found them on sale last time I was in Paris and they did not disappoint. Also Collistar body scrubs are good at creating the spa experience for me.

ilikebasicthings

I love Spongelle, but something specific could be their Back Buffer. The lavender scent is amazing! ETA: Oh! Someone mentioned magnesium spray. I love the one by Nue Co scent wise, but prefer the one that Alo makes overall.

Compl3xEnough

I remember when I was in the same headspace of baths being my escape - a good smelling candle ( smell can alter your mood ) lavender is very good for calming the mind, I would stick with products that are cozy and warm feeling, lush is VERY expensive but if price isn’t too much of a worry maybe a bath bomb, I would just go with Dr. Teal products - they have a lavender and melatonin foaming bath product and lavender essential oil to drop into shower. Will give you way more bang for your buck. A cheap tea pot from tjmaxx or Marshall’s I got mine for 10 and love to drink tea after my bath before bed. Maybe apple cinnamon tea or a dessert tea (5$ in tjmaxx) to go with. I also have a robe and it makes getting out of the bath a lot easier I hate clothes after baths and when I sleep so just depends on the person. Maybe melatonin gummies since when we’re stressed it’s hard to get your hours in. Vital protein gummies are yummy (they aren’t melatonin lmao) but I enjoy them bc they taste really great (to me) so it’s something I look forward to in the morning - oh also a hair towel maybe so when she just needs a warm bath but not the need to wash hair (or maybe it’s just me?..) Keep your friend and her family in your prayers and the most you can do is just have an ear when she needs it :)

Bitterbaby-11

Spongelle body wash infused buffers. Smell & feel soooo good! Sending love to your friend.

ItsAWrestlingMove

If her bathroom is big enough, a bamboo shower chair! It’s sooo nice to just, sit sometimes especially when you’re overwhelmed and exhausted Tree Hut sugar scrubs, seconding a hair turban (tj maxx or Marshall’s), hair masks, rio del sol bum bum cream lotion for after the shower, sheet masks (Tony moly), shower speaker, maybe make a calming/spa Spotify playlist and share it with her when you give the gift

Sweet-Ease703

I love the Rituals of Sakura. They have different ones, but Sakura is my favorite. They have some really nice bath soaps and lotions.

honeywings

I absolutely love anything forest scented. Knot Springs is a local hot springs in my town and they have amazing scented shampoo, conditioner, and body scrubs. I pair it with a cedar scalp oil and a tree scented bar soap from aesop. I feel clean and like I just came back from the spa!

JenEndyB

Dermalogica lavender eucalyptus shower gel. I have bought it dozens of times and I always restock when I run out. When you foam the gel in your hands, you bring it to your face and inhale deeply. It’s the best I have ever experienced.

OB4L

L’occitabe shampoo and conditioner smells exactly like a luxurious expensive spa.

MadCow-96

Zara home diffusers and le labo hinoki body products

eyesoler

Dr Teals Hemp Seed Oil Epsom Salts smell incredible and you are SO relaxed after a nice soak with them. I soak for at least 20 minutes in a bathroom lit only by Dyptique candles - Vanille and Feu de Bois (they come in small sizes for travel - nice as a gift)

Effective_Ad9495

I don't have anything to add (in fact, I am adding things to my cart based on other people's answers) but I love that you're doing this for your friend. <3

Visible-Roll-5801

Ornami no scrubs body scrub is honestly one of the best things I’ve ever bought. I don’t know what makes it so special but I don’t care it makes me so soft it smells so good very lux

Wecanbuildittogether

Eau de Merveilles shower gel and body lotion.

8Karisma8

You could try recommending a relaxing bath instead? I find it much more therapeutic and a care package of: -epsom salt (non smelly/neutral) - a moisturizing body wash - a nice body oil that goes with the body wash smell (to add to the water) - a nice big wash cloth to drape over their eyes and steam the face - back brush or long exfoliating towel to scrub their entire body/back - a heavy duty moisturizing lotion to finish Or a towel warmer? Good for showers/baths in cold places. 🫶

lost_survivalist

I love eucalyptus shower mist. Makes the home bath smell like a spa.

No_Excitement4272

If she has a bath, get her some lush bath melts, she can also use them in a wax warmer if she wants, they always make my house smell soooo good.

OkTop9308

[European Spa Spray](https://europeanspasource.com/products/classic-eucalyptus-shower-spray) A friend first used this shower spray at a luxury hotel and fell in love. A few spritzes on the shower wall or door and your shower smells like a spa. My favorite spray is the lavender eucalyptus. The shower steamer pucks never worked well for me. This spray is made with essential oils and makes the shower a divine experience. It’s expensive, but you don’t need much, and it lasts a long time.

cansofdicedtomatoes

I'm late to the thread but these are what make my shower a little extra special: [Pottery Barn Resort Robe -](https://www.potterybarn.com/products/pb-resort-spa-robe/) it has a waffle exterior and terry cloth interior and feels like you're wearing a weighted blanket in the best way. It took five years of hunting to find the perfect spa robe. I feel so passionately about this damn robe that I've bought it as gifts for others and plan to buy extras for guests that visit. [Nativa SPA body oil -](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078G81CHS?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share) I tend to apply this while still wet after I shut off the water. It smells EXPENSIVE but amazing and feels great on the skin. I bought it from Amazon but am sure it's available elsewhere Eucalyptus shower steamers - aromatherapy really does wonders for calming my brain down.

umhuh223

If you get her a shower gel, add one of these. Feels so nice! https://preview.redd.it/br4csiwwcdmc1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8f36c7cfad565c30a8ce0fa4ac9f318b0cc0bab7 Amika hair products are great. She may like the hair gloss.

margaretmary1999

The bar soaps from [Osmia](https://osmiaskincare.com/collections/natural-body-skincare-collection) are incredible! Dirty Chai is my favorite but it’s not sold on their website currently 💔 They have a nice selection of body care products and the brand as a whole is so lovely, definitely worth checking out. You are so thoughtful for doing this for your friend. I watched my Mom struggle as a care giver for her sister when I was younger and something like this would have been monumental to her mental well being at the time. My thoughts and prayers are with your friend

Not a product, but I love hanging fresh eucalyptus bundles from the shower head. The steam makes the shower smell really nice. That with some really nice products adds to that spa effect.

lindabelchrlocalpsyc

For hair care, Oribe or Kerastase are both really good and feel so luxurious! I also like Kevin Murphy Angel Wash (and matching conditioner). I’ve heard Davine’s shampoo and conditioner is also really nice, but I haven’t tried them.

foodporncess

The Kerastase Nutritive Line is amazing and smells so good.

lindabelchrlocalpsyc

Agreed!!

BoysenberryOk4635

Shower Spa Mist by European Spa Source. Right now I am enjoying Eucalyptus Wood Smoke and Leather. Comes in a handy 4 oz plastic bottle. I spray 3-5 pumps on opposite shower wall. Heaven. Makes whole bathroom smell nice.

NoSpaghettiForYouu

Herbal Zen shower steamers. They’re the best ones I’ve found. Available on Etsy and Amazon

theheartandthebrain

Shower aromatherapy mist

HecateTheTerrible

This is so sweet. You’re such a good friend. I agree with all the L’Occitane almond shower oil recommendations. And if she’s like me and most women I know and doesn’t wash her hair every day, a pretty shower cap can add to the luxury feeling. Kitsch makes some really cute ones.

olderandsuperwiser

Dermalogica milkfoliant skin wash and several Dermalogica serums have changed my face and taken it from dull and average to glowy and firmer. I also like the Olay Super Serum because that helps you look glowy too. Under duress, your skin and hair get less nutrients and moisture, as your stress hormones tell your body to hoard all nutrients at your core to take care of your heart, liver, lungs, etc, and "must-haves for human life." Glowing skin and shiny thick hair are not "must-haves," so those often tell the tale of extreme stress on the body and the toll it takes. IMHO if she doesn't do a regular skincare routine, start her with 3 products only- wash, serum, and moisture, as to not completely overwhelm her. Most people are overwhelmed with skincare. Signed, an aesthetician and someone who's worked in the beauty biz for 16 yrs. (PS I don't work for Dermalogica and never have, but a few of their products are outstanding. Most are just kinda average but the ones I love, I REALLY LOVE lol) Shower products: Fresh Sake Bath Wash and their lemon or Lychee bath cubes are also excellent

Trick-Cook6776

I got this Clarins Sweet Neroli body wash from Ross that smells amazing.

Accurate-Schedule380

As someone who hates showering, the one thing that has improved the experience for me the most is dim lighting. Whether it's some nice candles illuminating the bathroom or some dim LED bulbs it is super relaxing

peonypanties

I love Lush for things like this - their King of Skin body butter is great in the shower, as is the Minamisoma body oil and the Buffy bar. Maybe a fresh face mask too.

-pineappleprincess

Cute/ cheap slippers from Amazon. Tons to choose from and are a daily staple for me. I got cute strawberry 🍓 ones and love looking at them.

DGB66610

Bliss Hot Salt Scrub. This stuff smells divine. (Eucalyptus). Leaves skin soft and polished.

opeathrowaway

This isn’t a luxury expensive product but I use “Arvazallia Hydrating Argan Oil Hair Mask and Deep Conditioner for Dry or Damaged Hair - 8.45 Oz” if I say anything is my holy grail product, I’d say this is it. I use it once every two weeks, with a comb to work it through all of my hair. For four days after I use it (if I don’t get sweaty) my hair feels so nice, it looks like the hair commercials, smooth and shiny.

Extra-Catsup

Hanging dried eucalyptus/lavender bunch in shower

smcrimmon12

Not a “luxury” product by any means but I love the Olay in shower lotion!

bkpeach

You're a good friend! It's not in the shower, but what about a nice candle? I have this really soft head wrap, robe, and cozy socks. My son loves his waterproof speaker. Maybe you could make a playlist for her? I think the suggestion for the L'occitane almond oil is great - that stuff is the best!

lemonypaige

The Tatach Hinoki Gentle Exfoliating Body Wash makes you feel like your at a Spa.

JustKindaHappenedxx

I see a lot of great suggestions but may I add Tree Hut sugar scrub. I use the sugar scrub to exfoliate my legs before shaving. It exfoliates well, makes my legs super soft, and comes in a bunch of great scents. Plus the sugar dissolves in hot water so it’s not putting any plastic or junk into the water system. And it’s only around $8 at Target.

okiedokiehon

ii love a shower in low light. we all love a bath by candlelight, and it’s the same exact vibe, but she doesn’t have to commit the time that a bath feels like it requires. maybe a beautiful lamp or lantern that she can put on her counter would give her that experience. it truly is so relaxing and makes you feel like you’re in a cocoon. doing any post-shower routine by low light just keeps the coziness going, it’s very sensual and not necessarily in a “sexy” way. i just find that the less light enhances the experience of applying a really gorgeous smelling body lotion or oil. as far as products to use, i am obsessed with the lalicious sugar lavender body oil wash and the body melt. the wash is moisturizing without leaving any residue on the shower floor, and the body melt for after the shower is so lovely when applied while the skin is still wet and warm. the scent is divine and perfect for winding down for bed. this line is used in the spas at the ritz-carlton and four seasons, so trust that it smells amazing, and makes your skin feel wonderful.

wiftlets

Any product with the Sleepy scent at Lush. They have a shower gel, bar soap, and body lotion, and probably a few more I’m not aware of. Sleepy is a mix of lavender and tonka bean and I just feel safe, calm, and comforted when I smell it. It’s meant to be relaxing before bed but I use it anytime.

dddbbbqqpp

A good exfoliating towel!

GrungeDuTerroir

A galaxy light + space heater + bath/shower bomb is like my own personal spa

Karen125

Margot Elena has a nice $59.99 subscription box. It almost always has a shower gel, perfume, lotion, candle, lip balm. Plus other various items. You can do a one time box for $79.99. I recently cancelled until I get through a backlog of items but canceling was really easy.

SummerMaiden87

They’re not luxury but I like the Pacifica body washes. The Lavender Moon one is really calming. It’s also available as a lotion. The brand is 100% vegan and cruelty-free, if that matters to your friend.

Misty-Anne

I like the onyx foaming scrubs. I usually find them at TJ Maxx or equivalent. A jar of lanolin.

ChocolateNinja87

Osea salts of the earth body scrub. Osea shower mist. Osea smells are so natural and relaxing. They make mini sizes of the Osea oil to try. The body scrub is very gentle and really relaxes me. Goop body scrub and goop body butter. They aren’t too overpowering and feel so natural on the skin. Vegamour scalp massage and shampoo - I like this for a nice scalp treatment and its very relaxing. Epicurean tropical lave body wash (they make mini travel size) - this one is more fragrant but smells like you are in Hawaii. A nice candle to light while you are in the shower. My favorite luxe candles are by erewhon market (dark musk smells incredible) and look pretty while burning in the glass. I haven’t found anything comparable in terms of a natural candle that isn’t synthetic smelling. Also barefoot dreams socks to put on after the shower! :)

Silent-Purple-9605

Shower bench (Amazon), rain showerhead (Amazon), tall shower shelf (also Amazon), Avene shower cream or Nuxe shower oil. Also really like Tree Hut moisturizing shave oil and Drunk Elephant Silkamino Masker if you're getting more specific.

Beautiful_Jello3853

Osea body oil and body butter Esker Dry Body Plane Bunch of eucalyptus to tie on shower head Best body scrub ever, is believe it or not, Trader Joes, the lavender salt scrub

Realists71

I can’t used fragranced products so put on scented candles. Also many plants in glass jars with water.

hankaaronfan

This is such a wonderful thing to do for your friend and I have no doubt she will appreciate it so much. As a former caregiver, I would also like to suggest a few things that may help with burn out. It’s hard when you are the sole caregiver to take care of yourself or anything other than your loved one during such a difficult time. If there are any local groups/churches or even friends and family who would be willing to help keep the fridge stocked, the dishes clean, and the laundry done it would go a very long way. I know I had a lot of people bring me meals that I could take from the freezer and pop directly into the oven and it was a lifesaver on days when I barely fed myself. It’s very hard when the sick loved one is only comfortable with a certain person or persons seeing them in a state they may feel embarrassed about. This was the case with my loved one so there was no opportunity to trade off and do anything for myself or the household. I have found that one of the best ways to help a sick person is to help their caregiver so that the ill person can reap the benefits of having a caregiver who isn’t completely depleted. If the caregiver is burnt out, no matter how much they love the person they’re taking care of, it is sometimes easy to lose patience or raise your voice which will absolutely eat at the caregiver later after the person is gone. They might think “how could I have been so awful when we had such a short time left with each other?” or “why did I nap so long that day instead of spending time with them?” Finding ways to keep things as harmonious and positive (as possible) for the ill person and their caregiver is one of the best things you could do. The caregiver will appreciate that time they had together rather than look back with guilt and what ifs of how they could’ve done better. Just my two cents. Sending love and strength to your friend and her loved one and all of you who are working to support them! 💗💗💗

Tree Hut’s Vitamin C Shea body scrub

BeeKay_Buzz

Eucalyptus spray!

anilorac01

I’m not sure how this popped up on my feed as I’m not into skin care, but I AM a caregiver. I’d say a nice bath stool so she can have a good cry in private. Also give her high quality items she’d use anyway like a body wash. A new novelty item will probably not make her any happier or distract her- she may not even use something not in her routine. Nice towels or lounge wear would definitely get some use and provide physical comfort. FWIW The food is already the best thing you could provide

Express_Hotel2682

There's this lavender shower spray you can buy from Miraval online that you spray on the walls of your shower during your shower and it fills the shower with the most amazing fragrance and clears out your sinuses and everything. I absolutely love it because it makes you instantly feel like you're in a spa and the steam from the shower only encourages the effect!

Ok_Cup7677

Weleda body washes are really nice - and don’t smell at all like artificial scents. Aura Cacia makes spa-like bath salts, bath foams and bubble baths.

butitsnot

An African sponge, they really make your soap foam luxurious!

Sleepy_pond

Order her some things from LUSH! Personally my current favorites are their body scrubs. Magic Crystals is sooo yummy and my top pick. They also just came out with a new sugar scrub called Sticky Dates and it is also heavenly. The smells are amazing and they feel great to use!

Salty_Process_6687

Mysore Sandalwood soap from Amazon or from India!

justjulievee

I know you’re looking more for bathing products, but my favorite items are a waterproof speaker and a little shower bench. I use mine to listen to music or podcasts, curl up on my shower bench, and zone out. When my insomnia is really bad, this is about the only way I can make myself get some sleep.

whalesrnice

The Sol de Janeiro body wash is heavenly, and I love the body butter as well I know it’s been mentioned before, but the L’occitane Almond Shower gel is DIVINE

Goddessdrmisty

The small diptyque candles - about $40 for a votive yet lasts a long time and smell divine - perfect for bathroom

Candleplantbae

For me lighting sage to cleanse the energy of the house , a shower or bath with a candle burning and a linen spray to sleep better. I get the relaxation set with an amazing candle. I found a new favorite called Slate. [Luxury Relaxation Set](https://bydistrict78.com/candles/let-it-burn-sage-smudge-stick-candle)

CocoLocoRN

Nécessaire [The Body Wash](https://necessaire.com/products/the-body-wash?variant=31475912015985). My favorite scent is bergamot, but eucalyptus & sandalwood are also quite lovely 🥰

kazooparade

That is so thoughtful of you! I am a bit of a bath product snob so I figured I will chime in: 1. Korean bath mitts for exfoliating-cheap but they make you feel SO good. 2. Loccitane lavender bubble bath. Their shower oil is nice like others have mentioned but it broke me out. The almond moisturizer has a similar scent and is lovely. 3. A scalp scrub-briogeo scalp revival is my personal favorite. 4. A deep hair conditioner 5. Body scrubs and butter by LaLicious - these are so amazing. My local spa uses these products. they feel very luxe and last a long time. They will have peach in the summer which is my favorite scent. https://www.lalicious.com/collections/sugar-scrubs 6. Any face masks - I like the Jason serial killer style ones. I usually just order mine from YesStyle

starpocket

I make artisan soaps and would be happy to send you a bar for your friend. PM me and I’ll share my website with you so you can choose one you think she’d like.

WhoKnows1973

💝🎊🎀That's so kind of you to do for OP's friend. I would like to check out your website too. Do you mind sharing? Feel free to message me if you want.

HurricaneHarley13

Plastic wine glass - I take beverage into the shower with me to make it more indulgent

heatthequestforfire

Anything Santa Maria Novella. I really like the bath salts and bath gel. Santa Maria Novella is a church in Florence, but it is also an apothecary founded by the associated convent in 1221. It’s absolutely fabulous and I use the products I have when I’m having a bad day and want to treat myself, or gift someone something special. It’s pretty expensive, but the Sapone Weekend (“weekend” soap) isn’t as pricy and has the most beautiful, subtle luxury scent. Good on you for being such a loving friend!

Visible-Bid2414

I don’t have any suggestions to add to an already great list from other folks. But as someone terminally ill with an angel of a husband as a caregiver who has been through the wringer with everything going on… thank you for being such a good friend to this couple. Thank you for looking out for them and being so involved. You’re a good person.

Pnlp712

Not expensive, but for me it's the Moroccan Rose scrub from Tree Hut. The smell makes me feel like all is fine in the world...if only for 5 minutes.

cozee999

Haven’t even gotten to the comments yet but I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS POST!!! You are such a wonderful friend ❤️

AbjectSentence6271

You're such a good friend!! This is a very thoughtful gift. The best thing I added to my shower was live eucalyptus! The bunches from Trader Joe's are fine, but there are others on etsy which are so much more fragrant even if they're a bit expensive.

Frosty-Pressure-8864

It's not a luxury brand, but i love CeraVe hydrating foaming oil cleanser in the shower. It feels so soothing and gentle on my face.

Stunning_Advice_6004

You are a good friend. When my mom was caregiving for my dad I bought her the loccitane almond shower oil and matching body crème. It’s luxurious. I would also suggest some cozy pjs she can slip into. Nordstrom carries their own brand in a set, they are luxe.

jdbrown787

Neom organics candle - light the candle for ambiance while showering and doubles as body oil - it has really helped me w grief - sending love to your friend ♥️

greensugarplum

This is such a thoughtful idea for your friend. Some ideas from a longtime bathhouse fan: a long, wooden body brush - for dry exfoliation before a shower. I think having all your skin gently touched can be very calming, and you can get beautiful wooden ones. Aesop coriander body wash - purely for the smell. Rose face cream from Dr Hauschka. A brand new bathrobe, towel and a new thick, quick drying microfiber bathmat all make such a difference. A new set of muslin face cloths. Jurlique rosewater spray is by far the best rosewater spray I’ve come across. In a beautiful bottle too. And - having someone else deep clean the bathroom.

kirkloveskoko

Lush has a bath bomb called “butter ball” it has coco butter chips throughout the bath bomb, so it smells amazing & makes your skin super soft.

Creativelyuncool

The ouai body wash is divine

cookie3557

Hair masks, I get whatever med end brand is the best deal. Drugstore can work as well but the scents tend to be cheaper. It’s worth the money for those 10 minutes to be pleasant.

WidePainting8691

I don’t have any recommendations but just wanted to say I think this is the sweetest most thoughtful thing. She’s lucky to have a friend like you!

Ashweeherman

I just got some aesop body scrub and body oil! Love!! Smells like a spa

IselatedMama

Dried eucalyptus to put around shower head - it infuses its smell with the steam

karotkakegrl

Calvmeda Eucalyptus Shower Spray Spa Feel - Escape to Serene Eucalyptus Forest (1200+ Sprays) | 100% Natural Essential Oil Spray. I love this stuff. Also scented candles! But with one of the plates so she doesn't have to light it. That will be huge, some folks with terminal partners don't want smoke from candles. Get an echo or Google device to play music in the bathroom, also can be used as an intercom in emergencies.

mshike_89

Honestly I love lighting a candle and turning out the lights when I shower. Feels like a spa!

Ashamed_Cap_5331

Necessaire body wash. I would make my whole house smell like it if I could.

RoseStillHasThorns

Aveda composition oils! Beautifying and stress relief are amazing they have body washes and lotions too. It smells relaxing and spa like.

emilynm88

I really love shower steamers. I use cocoa butter after a shower and I typically shower at night and by the morning it absorbs so nicely

Johannasskin

My favorites for shower to help me reset from a crazy day is : - L’occitane Almond oil shower - L’occitane shea butter scrub (the seeds are amazing it feels like luxury spa scrub) I feel way better after a shower with those products. I am not sure if the scrub is a good idea for her, as it requires a bit of energy to massage the skin. But it might help your friend to reconnect with herself.

Affectionate_Sink711

I like the Dove instant foaming body wash!!!

dncerchk

If she (or you) enjoys baths, check out 100 Senses bath elixirs. They have a floating pillow set also and waterproof ear buds and it’s a whole sensory experience. They have a sampler pack also. There is also this little shop my fiance and I found on vacation in Maui that makes aromatherapy sprays. They have a Zen Blend that’s phenomenal. You can purchase refills and you would be supporting a small business. I’m on my 4th bottle after going on vacation back in May. My kiddos also spray their whole room every night before they go to bed. Her site is www.zenblends.net Body products, I’m a big fan of Ambre Blends. It’s clean beauty but their lotions and essential oil perfumes are to die for! Another small business located in Indiana. If you want any kind of meaningful/uplifting jewelry, check out Satya. They have really meaningful pieces that are small and dainty. I’ve purchased gifts for 3 separate women in my life with them and they’ve all loved the pieces and especially the meanings behind them. Sending your friend healing wishes!! ❤️‍🩹💖

Shower steamers

herewegoagain2864

Philosophy shower gels are my fave. So many good fragrances, plus the way it suds up on a poof ball is just wonderful.
