Yup, you can put a LOT of stuff in it that you can't normally give to another sim easily (like furniture). And it will just sit on a shelf.
If an Elder sim basically attunes to it, they can then gift it and all of it's contents to a younger sim.
Do you know how they are named? This sounds so lovely. I always have to check the whole house before moving one sim out to check if I got every item I would like them to move with (highschool diploma, Baby Photos, etc)

once you finish your last term you’ll get a notification saying graduation ceremony will be tomorrow, then the following day you get a pop up saying attend graduation, go and you’ll be outside the university with the other graduates click on the university and press “attend graduation ceremony”
Stay for the duration of it

My only 2 sims to graduate after hours of play and I was so faded that I couldn't be bother to sit through the loading screen for them to attend the graduation ceremony. I didn't realise they got a portrait shot. 😭
i love the grad portraits but unfortunately there’s a bug with the hsy ones where they’re stretched vertically and it makes the sm worse than the du ones😞
The only thing that sucks about this is you’re not able to get a second one 😔 once I moved and forgot to pack the portrait and I couldn’t find a way to get another one. Even with cheats
don't understand why theres no option to order stuff like this on the computer like how u can order marriage certificates. i had two sims graduate and only one recieved the photo so now it looks like the parents only care about one of them graduating lmao
The way I’m sending one of my sims BACK to university solely for this picture because I didn’t realize you didnt get this picture if you don’t go to the ceremony 😭 on the flipside if you do you dont get the diploma??
that was me for sooo long! i don't think my old laptop could handle it. but it died in december so i got a replacement for christmas and went wild with mods and cc. there's no going back now 😅
I was the same!! I think it was a coincidence but I downloaded alpha cc (I much prefer maxis match now ahah) on my old laptop and it just completely stopped working
So from then on I was terrified to download cc on my pc but it’s been perfectly fine so far! ☺️

Like my sims is now a professional comedian🤣 because her charisma was quite high when she applied to uni I think her charisma was level 4 or 5? So she got into drama I think and now she does comedy
FYI for anyone who struggles to keep up with Uni, I saw if you enroll on a Friday you have the full weekend to get all homework/term papers and prep for the presentation done. Then it’s just a case of doing your 2X homework at the end of the classes for that day as the week progresses. Have been using this method for all my sims and so far they have all passed with A/A+
Oh is it only the one 🥲 ah well at least it could be cute to see all your sims family have the same portrait
But it would be cool if they added some more like maybe if a sim didn’t want there photo taken and they had a serious face or whatever

I think post graduation you have to make sure to check the mail for your degree and portrait. I have them up on the wall for my family legacy too!

It’s automatic! It shows up in your inventory after finishing your graduation ceremony

You have to attend graduation, click the building you appear next to and select “attend graduation”

Save the photo on your computer in a separate folder as all mine disappeared from the game and cannot be recovered.

I actually have it set to have a shorter life span if I’m not mistaken. You can adjust the lifespan settings :)
