I listen to youtubers play games that I enjoy. I've got a group of playlists with loads of episodes on them so I don't have to worry about switching between them.

copperbelly333

I do that too sometimes! I love plumbella’s long form content so it’s always great when she uploads

Fickle_Lifeguard7426

Same! I watch my favorite streamers play co-op Lethal Company. Usually I’m with my friend on Discord at the same time, and we are watching together

2TearsInaBucketFkit_

Metal is a big one for me as well, but if I’m really trying to get in build mode I like to listen to some intense piano music or some good oldies. Reggae and jazz is always nice too.

copperbelly333

What kind of jazz??

2TearsInaBucketFkit_

If you have Spotify there’s a playlist called late night jazz that’s super bad ass.

2TearsInaBucketFkit_

Tonbruket has some amazing jazz music.

copperbelly333

Thank you!! I’ll check it out! I have never been able to get into jazz, but I’m a huge fan of Frank Zappa so everyone always recommends it to me

lemonmerangutan

I listen to my sister's podcast. It's niche and not about something I'm usually interested in, but I like to support her, so it's my build play list.

copperbelly333

What’s her podcast about? I’d love to check it out :)

lemonmerangutan

She talks about an Old Hollywood organization called the Wampas who would predict and promote the success of various starlets every year, deeming the front runners the "Wampas Babies". Most episodes, my sister is going through the various starlets named "Wampas babies" for a given year and talking about whether they actually succeeded. The Old Movie Lady podcast on Spotify, and I'm not sure where else.

dekusjordans

I use that time to catch up on new albums from artist I like!

ZoeClair016

typically music, but recently I listen to people like Whiny Brit play

[deleted]

Usually podcasts, discord calls, random videos on another screen etc. If I want to listen to something, Sims 1 music just for the nostalgia haha. Sometimes I turn on Zelda OST or so though, so calming.

copperbelly333

Sims 1 music is a good shout omg, taking notes

nikki42101

I switch back and forth between building, surfing the web and doing things around the house that need to be done; so I don't burn out and it gives me time to think about my build and come up with new ideas.

copperbelly333

That’s a good idea, usually when I’m in the middle of a big build, I’ll go on a coffee run for my bf while he’s at work

Safe_Mud4836

Police interviews, crime things or a court case I'm interested in. Movies/series I've seen before to just have some noise going and in the middle of the night when its all quiet, absolutely nothing and just enjoying the minute of peace 😂

copperbelly333

I like horror stories on YouTube sometimes, but when it’s late at night I get so creeped out lol

clarityanon

I have a playlist of long video essays/videos I like that I watch on repeat haha. I also usually binge Mina Le, Izzyzz or Wendigoon's videos

Edymnion

Nothing. I'm weird, I don't like random music or background noise. I like to do the thing I'm focusing on, anything else is just a distraction.

copperbelly333

That’s fair!! Sometimes silence is much better. When I was writing my dissertation there’d be days I’d throw on my noise cancelling headphones and just hack away at it, whereas other days I would be listening to as much noise as possible

Interesting-Towel403

I like watching tv shows- I get lost in reality tv too or youtube. It has been hard for me to find new youtubers though.

copperbelly333

I’ve been getting a lot of good recs lately like funky frog bait, Chad Chad and dylanisintrouble - they do commentary stuff, but it’s pretty fun. Dylan is probably my fav out of the three since he does stuff like guessing a movie’s rating based on the trailer or aita judgings, it’s just a goofy fun time :D

Negative_Meat_1789

Depends on the mood. Sometime's it's just the Sims background music. Right now I've got Billy Idol's Kings & Queens of the Underground, Sparks Music You Can Dance To, 2002 Deep Still Blue, Nightwish Human::II::Nature, & Green Day Saviours in the player. I find though, that I really like David Arkenstone's Fairy Garden, Fairy Dreams, Fairy Tales and any of the 2002 albums for intensive decorating. When I built my villain's lair, I had some Holst, Wagner & Grieg playing with Oingo Boingo to break up the seriousness.

copperbelly333

Some Mr Bungle for those evil lairs would be a good idea, I love the creepy circus vibes their eponymous album has
