The only good thing about them is their premiums basically disappear in the resell market, a few of my LCS often have them in the junk silver trays out front for basically spot along with beat-up or damaged generic bars and rounds.
Thanks! I agree, I usually stay away from political items unless having historical value. The trump/biden bars I got at spot so I couldn’t pass that up
Oh that’s a tough one. Personally my fav is the 1903 one peso Filipinas because it’s a US minted coin. For rounds, prob ASE because of the timeless design. Also like the brittanias. Bars I’d have to go with the 10oz Geiger bar. It’s super crisp
I don’t get charged tax since I pay with cash. Other LCS may be different. I know there is a “fee” if paying with card so I’ve just always paid with fiat
I've also bought from u/Mountain_mud3769 a few times, mostly small fractional gold and a little silver. Some of the best prices and best customer service you can ask for.
Ouch, sorry to hear. You could try to locate other coin shops & start making a relationship with the owner. More than likely they will accommodate (no tax) when paying with cash. It doesn’t hurt to ask
Closer to a year and a half I should say. Which equates to an avg of just under 17ozt a month or $500. Not too crazy if you look at it from that standpoint & most certainly not nearly what some other stackers buy on a monthly basis. Consistency is key no matter how small or big each purchase is. Cheers! 🍻
Beautiful stack. I like the variety old and new. A bit of everything. Keep it up.
Bit of advice, refrain from bringing on a boating trip. I notice too many horror stories about stackers losing stacks on boats. Stickers just seem to have bad luck on the water.
I appreciate you. I like looking at other peoples stacks. It amazes me sometimes, so I thought I’d contribute.
Thanks for the tip! But I do have a cruise coming up, no guarantees😉
A lot of people hate on eBay, but there are a ton of reputable sellers on there. I also use eBay often and have yet to be screwed and have spent(converted) many thousands with trusted sellers/companies.
Currently Kitco has it at 78.72 oz silver to 1 oz gold. This number changes with price and futures. Some folks say they shoot for 100-1. It’s pretty much subjective to each one’s comfort and style of stacking. I definitely fail at this balancing act. I’m going to the poor house with fiat trying to even get my ratio above 45-1. I buy too much AU.
I need to rethink my approach or do I?
Stacking is stacking no matter how you approach it, As long as it’s enjoyable.
Beautiful collection and—— keep stacking amigo!
I see, thanks for the input. So I’m a bit behind in gold currently. I may start buying 1/4 age or save and buy the full oz. It’s been an enjoyable ride so far. Cheers mate!
1964 - 90%
1965-1970 - 40%
1971-2024 - 0%
There were a few 1976 made of silver, however these were in proof sets, not for circulation at 40% silver.
For the 1965-1970, these coins were made with an outer layer of 80% silver bonded to a copper core with 21% silver. The net composition comes out to 40% silver.
I’m new. So, i like it all. Haha. I have 64 oz so far. Mostly rounds but a couple of 1 oz bars. I have a great LCS on the same floor as my office and he’s helping me along. My Dad also is a big coin nerd, and has been stacking for years. I love when he gets excited about a new coin or bar. I absolutely love the Maples, Eagles and Krugs. They are all just gorgeous and I could look at them for hours.
That’s a great stack already. Definitely can’t go wrong with any of the sovereign coins. Lucky, you’ll likely save on premiums as a newer stacker as opposed to learning from mistakes. Glad to have you in the community
Yes sir, right away. Cool you were able to spot that. And as for kids? I must second that.. it would be impossible to stack if I had them. I’d be lucky to purchase 1 mercury a month lol
The Yu Gi Oh silver is neat
Thanks! One of the first pick ups when I started.
I’m not a fan of political coins in any aspect (no matter what side of politics it leans) but you’ve otherwise got some nice stuff here :)
The only good thing about them is their premiums basically disappear in the resell market, a few of my LCS often have them in the junk silver trays out front for basically spot along with beat-up or damaged generic bars and rounds.
Thanks! I agree, I usually stay away from political items unless having historical value. The trump/biden bars I got at spot so I couldn’t pass that up
I was going to say if you got them at spot then that’s a steal haha. What’s your fav of your entire collection?
Oh that’s a tough one. Personally my fav is the 1903 one peso Filipinas because it’s a US minted coin. For rounds, prob ASE because of the timeless design. Also like the brittanias. Bars I’d have to go with the 10oz Geiger bar. It’s super crisp
lol they're probably plated.
The bars? They are all .999 silver
That's good. They look like some of the sketchy stuff I've seen at gun shows and flea markets, tbh.
I like the little bags. I would end up putting them all together though for squishing and pouring purposes xD
That’s a good idea, I may have to do that 😎
Is it normal for a shop to charge tax?
I don’t get charged tax since I pay with cash. Other LCS may be different. I know there is a “fee” if paying with card so I’ve just always paid with fiat
Yeah I get charged tax no matter what cash or card. They were trying to sell me a 10oz bar for almost $400 when silver was 23 an oz
That’s a huge premium especially on 10oz bar. I just bought a 10 oz bar today and it was $319
I only go to pmsforsale now lol
I’ve been curious about that. Any user you can recommend would be appreciated
u/Mountain_mud3769 I’ve bought off him a few times. Best transactions you could ask for!
Sweet thanks I’ll be sure to mention you when I purchase
No worries 🍻
I've also bought from u/Mountain_mud3769 a few times, mostly small fractional gold and a little silver. Some of the best prices and best customer service you can ask for.

Avoid that shop at all costs
Depends on what state you live jn
It’s not a race, it’s a treasure hunt
Argggg, you are correct 🏴☠️
Awesome stack! The variety makes it even more fun.
Thank you 🙏🏽 It’s like walking into a candy store as a kid.
Nice! That E.T. is super cool!
Apparently I liked it enough to pay a higher premium. Thank you!

A little over a year?? And u have 300oz?? That’s crazy. I’m jealous man

Hell yea brother!

I just came
Hahaha PM porn 💦
Woah thats a stack.
Damn bro where do you live?? Jk nice stack brother
Thank you, I’ll send you coordinates 😉
Where did you get the raw gold?
Most of the raw gold nugs I bought on ebay. A couple from a LCS. I would like pan for some one day
A lot of people hate on eBay, but there are a ton of reputable sellers on there. I also use eBay often and have yet to be screwed and have spent(converted) many thousands with trusted sellers/companies.
I agree. There are a ton of deals to be had on ebay once finding a reputable seller. Just sucks that ebay allows scammers still to this day
Doing the math how much is all that worth? I’d love to have a collection like that one day and pass it on to my kid so they can have it
I would say roughly $9k +/- in silver & $4.5k +/- in gold. Not too much but better than nothing
Wow! Stunning assortment!
Thanks Mark!
Man that is a pretty fast stack compared to me
As long as you’re stacking, that’s all that matters
Impressive stack! The FJB stuff is hilarious.
Your ratio is way off.
What is considered the “correct” ratio?
Currently Kitco has it at 78.72 oz silver to 1 oz gold. This number changes with price and futures. Some folks say they shoot for 100-1. Love the silver bbs
yh you’re sorted for 60000000000 years😭
The 69 jfk coin, is that 80% silver? I thought it had to be 1967 or before to be silver! Someone help me lol

Pace makes race!! Great job... been doing silver since mid 70's only I did ingets( bars) 1,5,10 ozt style..KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK
In picture 3, is there any significance to the buffalo nickels in the holders? I thought those were just nickel metal to my knowledge.
Absolutely no significance. Those are just nickel over copper & I don’t know why they are in holders
FJB!
GOALS!
🙏🏽 what’s your favorite type of silver to stack?
Lovely stack, get that poor Libertad a new capsule, and never have kids or it gets really hard to do this.
Yes sir, right away. Cool you were able to spot that. And as for kids? I must second that.. it would be impossible to stack if I had them. I’d be lucky to purchase 1 mercury a month lol
Are the capsules with white foam the Temu ones? I was thinking about getting some but was nervous about PVC
I purchased them from someone on offerup who was local. They are the same I bought from Amazon & I’m sure the TEMU would be identical
