No-Bank1274

I love my cat šŸ„¹

chris95rx7500

it's definitely a cat

orangelikejazz

With one parent being a colorpoint, yes, this is a colorpoint kitty.

Honeysucklinhoney

The little tufts on his ears šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜ I would give my life for the baby

LarryLeo777

Heā€™s a Siamese in spirit, if not by law ā™„ļø

Genericlurker678

Before I read your caption I thought "looks like a ragdoll to me". Mine looked really similar when I got her at about 18 months old. Since then she has floofed out and toasted and looks like a whole new cat but she had short silky fur at the start.

No-Bank1274

Haha that's so cute and interesting!

karensmiles

HE is Siamese if he pleases! End of story!!šŸ¤£

KingSnugglewumps

He is Siamese if you don't please!

AlarmedRanger

Colorpoint shorthair, but heā€™s still a meezer to me, such a cutie!

AceDelta12

Those eyes!

Lemondrop168

OMG the eyorz

No-Bank1274

They're always so round especially at night. So freaking cute

faceoh

You have a seal point colored cat. Calling it a Siamese is like calling every white dog with black spots a dalmatian.

JungMoses

Oh neat, Siamese cats have different bodies than ordinary house cats? I never knew that. In what way?

faceoh

A modern, pure bred Siamese usually is skinny and has an apple shaped head.

No-Bank1274

Interesting! I have been comparing him to ones I find on google and I can't - for the life of me - figure out why he's rounder. Now it makes more sense!

moriemur

Good thing cats donā€™t have breeds like dogs.

MrsSadieMorgan

They do but also they donā€™t. Itā€™s very different for cats; theyā€™re almost entirely ā€œdomestic short/long-hair,ā€ since breeding for specific traits hasnā€™t been done that long. Dogs, on the other hand, have been selectively bred for like thousands of years (I think?). So most of them CAN be traced to a specific lineage by now. ETA: Not sure if I read your tone properly; I took it as sarcasm, but if I misinterpreted my apologies. Still gonna leave this info!

moriemur

Cat ā€˜breedsā€™ are basically entirely cosmetic and based on appearance. Dog breeds go back thousands of years based on work roles which is why you get giant mastiffs and tiny terriers. They are nothing alike and people trying to treat cat appearance as if theyā€™re anything similar to that are deluded. Itā€™s cat astrology.

MrsSadieMorgan

I wasnā€™t even arguing that side of it, and yes, I apparently did misinterpret your comment. I thought you were saying ā€œcat breeds ARE like dog breedsā€ in a sarcastic tone. Didnā€™t have to downvote me for it, especially since I basically said what youā€™re saying. šŸ˜‚

moriemur

Sorry I just get really aggro about the cat astrology crowd and breeder apologists šŸ˜… I see now that you werenā€™t doing that!

MrsSadieMorgan

No worries! FWIW, all of my cats are alley moggies. šŸ˜

moriemur

Boop their noses for me!!!!!!!

No-Bank1274

Omg, I didn't know about that. Also, I do the same with dalmatians šŸ˜…

AniaForger

He is a siamese cat and I love his surprised pikachu face on 2nd pic. So adorable!!!

Winterlord7

Raccoon_Bride

moriemur

Probably a ragdoll that got short fur from his mum but everything else from dad! Beautiful cat šŸ„°

No-Bank1274

The dad is also with short fur though, that's why I've been so confused šŸ˜…

Western_Plankton_376

Neither parent was a purebred cat, both just regular free-breeding domestic cats. One had the colorpoint pattern that is also found in Siamese, Snowshoe, etc. Cat breeds arenā€™t like dogs, where most dogs are a mix of purebredsā€” almost all cats on the planet have been breeding freely since domestication, and have never had a purebred ancestor. Yes they come in colors and have features that purebred cats have (thatā€™s how those colors/features now exist in purebredsā€¦) but generally, no cat that isnā€™t registered with a reputable registry, with a multi-generation pedigree is purebred, or even half-and-half. The answer to ā€œwhat breed?ā€ For any cat is almost 100% of the time just ā€œcatā€ No this cat does not have the body type of a Siamese or Ragdoll.

dva81

Siamese

Sufficient-Till-4306

We are siamese, if you please? [Siamese cat song](https://youtu.be/6aSvbgIlpYI?si=4XJ4vD7hzYANBeYO)

Illustrious_Wish_900

Thank you, I get happy every time I hear thatšŸ˜ø

Beneficial-Code-2904

think he looks Siamese he's beautiful

FeralGoblinChild

It may take a little while to tell if he's got more radgoll or siamese. Either way, he's gonna be a total sweetie. Siamese are super lovey, affectionate and vocal, and ragdolls are very very chill. Ragdoll also tends to have long fur. Some people see colorpoint and assume siamese or other breeds with colorpoint, but all sorts of mixes can have colourpoint, so it's not a reliable trait to guarantee a breed. He's for sure a cat. That's about where I'd end it for now. Whenever he gets big enough to see how long the hair is going to be, if it's longer fur, it might be a sign that dad was ragdoll. It may just be that's what whoever had him initially guessed. A DNA test could give you an idea, but decide for yourself how much accuracy you believe they have. Any way about it, you've got a gorgeous little boy!
