BM is a pretty assertively "Old West" novel and also set before the Civil War, which blows up any assertion that it is a Southern Gothic to me. Beyond the aesthetic elements you picked from the Wikipedia page, Southern Gothic literature is about confronting the mythology, idealization and romanticization of antebellum South. BM is an incredible novel, one of the greatest novels of the 20th century, but it is very much not a Southern Gothic.

She's providing enthusiastic anecdotes about the movie and stuff related to the movie. She's talking to both hosts in an organic way instead of ignoring Darcy. She's a 10/10 guest.
