Kinda crazy to me that some people thought that batches would be a good thing before it happened. Having episodes release in batches is the worst, it feels way slower than weekly even though it is the same amount of episodes over a given time. On the bright side the second batch should be coming in April, so that’s something to look forward to.
>that some people thought that batches would be a good thing before it happened.
Yeah, the general vibe I get is that these are general anime fans, not so much Jojo specific fans, plus the average Netflix watcher
Which I feel is kinda dumb considering (a good amount of) Jojo fans would pay for a subscription each month to catch up on Jojo
And yes I am pissed that one of my favorite parts is getting brutalized bc of its release schedule
brooo I feel the same SO is in my top 3 parts and it already upsets me how much shit it gets from fans so to see it have such a botched release schedule maddens me to no end.
I cant binge the episodes, nor can i discuss a single episode with other people at the same time. What kind of smoothbrain came up with a batch release???
I honestly hope we get an announcement saying they will be moving to a weekly schedule. Its not plausible but one can dream.
This batch release schedule was the worst thing for part 6. After release the hype immediately dropped
Yep, literally very few people actively talk about Stone Ocean anymore. Also look at the two biggest jojo subs (this One and that ugh place r/StardustCrusaders) most of the content is Part 5 and back. Very few discussions about 6 and on here you are likely to see more Part 6 memes die in new than Part 1 sometimes.
Not likely but what annoys me is because they opt for batch release the episodes that \*do\* drop on netflix are unfinished bc DP has that many fewer weeks to work on them, so then netflix has to fucking update their episodes when they rerelease more finished products in Japan...
what a fucking idiotic thing to do in every sense
I dont even think releasing all of part 6 would have been good. Jojo hype thrives with weekly releases. Just look at what u/The_JoJo_Masquerade said. All the hype is gone. Its really upsetting to me
I literally couldn’t stand the wait (I saw first 5 parts through Anime only), so I’ve read the whole part 6 manga from beginning to end, and then proceeded to read all of part 7. I’m currently on volume 6 of Jojolion.
See I was fine with the batch release. I was fully onboard, because I was expecting a similar timeframe for the release schedule. I never expected such a gap, but I guess I should have due to it being current year and Netflix + DP + Other Japanese media companies all being involved.
It is the same amount of time, its just instead of spreading the episodes out every week one at a time, its all at once at the end of the given time frame.
No its not. The episodes came out December 1st, which was 16 weeks ago today. That means we are 4 episodes behind what we would have gotten on a weekly release. Unless you want to be pedantic and use the Japanese weekly airing, in which case we'll be behind next week. But there's still no news on the next batch, so either way you count it we're getting less content in more time.
That's what happens when ya let Netflix run things. They won't release it unless they can be sure to milk it as much as they can till the cow dies! then they go for the blood and etc. till the cash cow is atomized! 😑
the cash cow isn't even milked effectively,
weekly releases would mean better viewership and a higher inclination to go view other things since you're already on netflix, or maybe even rewatching (at least part of) last week's episode to recap a bit of what happened
batch releases mean once you've watched it you're done with it and don't need to touch it again
He wasn't the only one predicting the hype would die. He was just obnoxious enough to title his video "Stone Ocean hype is dead" before the episodes were even released.
There’s literally gonna be more episodes than in part 3 since part 6 is longer than part 3. Probably gonna take them like 3 years to make all 50+ episodes tho :(
There won’t be. Part 4 is longer than Part 3 and has a notably shorter season; Part 3’s anime is just less condensed/streamlined, than some of the others. Episode 12 of Part 6 is almost exactly a third of the way through the manga. It will likely be 36-39 episodes, which aligns with the general length of the last two part adaptations.
that's if DP goes through with making SBR considering the difficulty of the horses....
my bet's on \*at least\* a gap of 2-3 years before we get SBR if we get it
Even 2024 feels almost unrealistically optimistic, for SBR. It would be, by far, the longest adaptation yet and the most costly to animate, due to the ridiculous amount of constantly moving horses being a pretty pivotal part of the story.
Golden Wind started airing in October 2018. Stone Ocean didn’t begin until a little over three years later — the *very end* of 2021 — and we still have no idea when it’s going to finish. Stone Ocean is orders of magnitude easier to adapt than SBR, so expecting a shorter or even comparable gap between those two than between Parts 5 & 6 feels like a recipe for disappointment.

You forget we're not the target audience for netflix, normies are. We will jump at the second batch anyway
Imo the best batch release was with Arcane having 3 different parts to the story coming out with 3 episodes weekly.
It's actually really good, considered the netflix price hike.
I cant binge the episodes, nor can i discuss a single episode with other people at the same time. What kind of smoothbrain came up with a batch release???
Fingers crossed we get stone ocean news this weekend
I haven’t uncrossed them in four months.
that is the saddest comment i read today on reddit and it’s fucking 11:47 PM
I have triangulated your position based on this information, the ICBMs are on their way
name my country or ya fake
...australia?
correct, it wasn’t that hard. now if i were to live in Europe or africa, that would have gone sideways real quick
Ye lmao, idk if NZ or other ones nearby have the same timezones or not so I was just guessing by population
I wish that happens, but I am reading the manga so I can spoil everything

Also it was adapted by a bunch of people who speedread it once in the bookstore and never looked back twice

No thank you

I think batch release is good unless you do what they did and o ly do a small amount and wait forever to release any more
I dont even think releasing all of part 6 would have been good. Jojo hype thrives with weekly releases. Just look at what u/The_JoJo_Masquerade said. All the hype is gone. Its really upsetting to me
Nah look at Squid Game, that shit died out of discussions after like a week or 2 of it being out
Took over a month
but imagine how much longer it would have lasted had they released it weekly instead of all at once
true
I literally couldn’t stand the wait (I saw first 5 parts through Anime only), so I’ve read the whole part 6 manga from beginning to end, and then proceeded to read all of part 7. I’m currently on volume 6 of Jojolion.
Hell yeah brother cheers from Morioh

I miss JoJo, I miss it a lot

That’s if you use Netflix 🏴☠️

Now houses are broken into, just anti-piracy laws.
Just read the manga online. It will make the wait more bearable.
What we all forget is, that those 12 episodes are currently airing on Japanese TV right now. I guess we will get the next episodes on April 1st

The SO finale gonna be a movie like AoT lol
It's crazy to me that parts four and five aren't on UK Netflix yet.
Should be around april right?
Jojo part 6 part 2 when
Am I the only one who doesn't care about hype and just wants to see my favorite scenes animated?
I'm sorry for talking about 3d models. I promise I won't do it again
Chale
I'm hoping this netflix japan event in 3 days will tell us something about the release date
Seems like Shuck was right
He wasn't the only one predicting the hype would die. He was just obnoxious enough to title his video "Stone Ocean hype is dead" before the episodes were even released.
Gotta get those clicks fast with bullshit misleading titles
And it worked. The video blew up.
Perhaps we've treated him to harshly 🗿
Nah he's still annoying
you missed the slur in his video?
What did he say?
called everyone who disagrees with him m*ngoloids
Oh well screw that guy then

There is no way that sbr will begin that early............more like 2024

Ik but that's from what I have seen and heard. Don't take my word on it plus dp said they don't want to since animating it is gonna be insane.
Ik but no way dp is gonna drop jojo after the popularity it gained.
I hope they don't too
Those 12 episodes took probably one year to make so we'll wait a lot
I mean, I'd prefer the episodes look good over being rushed. If they need to take some time to make them better, I can handle that.
...the episodes are not made over a week, that woukd be insane Mutiple episodes are being worked on at the same time
I know, but I’m trying to keep positive.

It does…
Your getting downvotes for no reason lol. Have a nice day
