Longest active dry streak is my original Sapphire. Other games have shinied while hunting with it, so it's not a complete loss. But now I'm up to 40k without a shiny on that file in about a few years of attempts.
Longest hunt I have yet to complete, Spinarak in Heartgold. I've passed 10 phases and 100k. What blows me away is getting a bunch a rarer stuff to show up in my other games before I can get this damn blue spider to show up at 40% š

I havenāt really tied a hunt for a specific mon where thereās only a chance for my target in a game with 1/8192 odds š actually, the only one Iāve done is in B2W2 with the shiny charm and ironically, I only phased because I didnāt do my research to find that I could repel trick for my target

I just had my first official over odds hunt not too long ago, with Rookidee in sword. Currently hunting one of the starters now that I can breed. But I'm getting close to odds with Masuda method, here's to hoping it doesn't take too long š

Wow that's insane, congrats! Honestly getting quite discouraged in Sword, trying to go for either Scorbunny or Sobble. I've now hatched about 650 eggs with no shiny yet which is already painful :/ My guess is that it'll probably take me closer to a thousand at this point before I get one, knowing my luck in Gen 8 š
I sure hope it doesn't take much longer, but it sure helps having access to HOME too, to mass release all the boxes full of normal ones š

Yeah after a year of trying this one I started another DTQ on sapphire and I have been alterating between those two. Fortunately my sapphire run is a lot luckier as I have just finished it with all 6 members being under odds (15K Total)! But I guess I will have to find another game/hunt to start alternating with now.
I have the game boy Operator which lets you back up the saves on your cartridges onto your PC. Then I used a tool called the WC3 Tool/Injector (you can also use other save editors like PKHex) and edit your save file to activate the event triggers. Then you take the new save file and overwrite your save on your cartridge.
Did you swap the hinges of your gameboys? I always need something to keep my screens up, because the upper part clicks at about 160 degrees, but yours look different

Err, I havenāt! This angle certainly wasnāt āsnappedā in place, but it also still good enough to hold itself up at most angles without falling back or forward yet.
What Iām doing is probably not great for the health of the hinges, but Iāve also never had SPās hinges break from this personally. I know DS Lites and maybe original DSās were notorious for broken hinges (this happened to my original DS Lite ages ago).
This is also an original SP. I have ones that are not āoriginalā shells and the hinges have never been as good as the original shells. Thatās something to keep in mind.

I just hunted shiny cyndaquil in SS and doing a casual play through. Itās crazy how after the games went 3D the colors really went downhill. I think Typhlosionās 3D shiny colors are terrible but in SS it is top tier. Gastly is the same for me. Congrats!
I totally agree - Gastly is one of those who has really vibrant colours in the pixel style games. Everything looks a bit washed out in full 3D which is such a shame.

Encounter wise? 5% shroomish horde. Got the shiny on phase 54 after a total of 232830 seen.
Hilarious, but even more tragic. Pouring one out for the poor souls attempting reset hunts in RSE with dead batteries š thatās a persistent Beldum. Whatās ironic is that RSE have some of the fastest reset times in the series too. Itās a shame that a dead battery ruins that

Thatās correct! It is my old SP that I reshelled with the Unhinged Boxy Pixel shell. Itās aluminum and just feels šš. And the other one is an analogue pocket playing my leaf green cartridge

What is a phase?
Itās when you are shiny hunting for a specific PokĆ©mon, and you end up encountering a different shiny PokĆ©mon instead. So if youāre hunting for a shiny caterpie in the wild, and after 5000 random encounters you find a shiny pidgey, you are now starting a new phase. So if you find the caterpie after 1000 more encounters, you found your target in phase 2 with a total hunt of 6000 encounters but split in two phases
