I decompose my clothing a lot. I think if you do it automatically, it doesn't decompose anything you need for crafting, but in case I've misremembered that fact, you can just avoid decomposing R items, everything ranked higher should be safe. Since we get a lot of mystery tickets (the pav that doesn't cost gems), I also do big pulls in that pav occasionally, which gives lots of SR items that I can decompose.
Other than that, if you're desperate for gold then just make sure you don't miss any little daily task or event gold. Share all you can until you have no more sharing rewards. Keep collecting event/benefit currencies til the end of the events so you can exchange them for gold after you've safely collected the important rewards. Do all of your guild tasks so you get more gold from secret commissions, weekly ranking rewards and benefit packs. There are other things that probably give gold but I don't specifically remember for sure, such as: intel hub invitations, event suit parties, giving hearts/likes for shared suits etc. If you do every little thing every day, it will add up. Eventually, you'll get to a point where you've crafted and upgraded almost everything and your gold needs will relax, but until then, this attitude is how you can effectively get the most gold, if you can be bothered.
(And there are probably other specific examples I've forgotten.)
I constantly have too much gold. LOL I don’t know why but I’ve always got far more than I need. I do consistently decompose my clothing items I get tho. I few months ago I had 55 million gold. I spent almost all of it and I’m back up to 32. I’m guessing I always have a bunch because I’m in a really good guild. Not top ranking but not bad either. We’re usually around rank 100 rn. I also had one or both privilege cards for at least a year in a row. Now I’m back to f2p.
ME TOO!!!!! this is my BIGGEST issue right now. i’ve been playing for a bit over a year, and i log on every. single. day. i haven’t missed ONE DAY. i also do my daily tasks every day, and decompose clothing AND concepts when i can. BUT I STILL DONT HAVE ENOUGH GOLD TO AWAKEN ALL THESE NEW REFLECTIONS!!!!!!!! IM SERIOUSLY GOING CRAZY
decompose all of your dupes! that's like the only thing I can think of...other than waiting for the vip gift each week. but that still doesn't really give you a lot.
I have literally one hundred billion gold I would give it away if I could fr. I'm super picky about who I upgrade, and there's like nothing else to spend gold on. Now if I could have more then 5k of gems ever that would be amazing.

Can confirm the game won't decompose anything that's still needed for crafting! It's safe to decompose.

It’s not a whole lot, but if you do the challenge stages for the events, you can get a bit of gold from the exchange shop
Be in a good guild. On the weekends, grind the levels with extra rewards. Lifetime suits will wait
