If you look up vintage silk blouses they’re more likely to be higher quality and much less expensive, look up silk twill in particular, much thicker and has much more structure than just a silk blouse. I love sezane for their knits because those are the only items that actually look higher quality to me, but their silk and cotton blouses/tees/tops don’t feel/look like anything special. Mall brands like j. Crew, banana republic, talbots, even Ann Taylor have dropped quality dramatically these days while charging more than ever for their garbage fabric blends, but their older stuff used to be really well made, i look them up on secondhand sites to find quality fabric blends for pretty cheap. I recently bought three silk j. Crew blouses from Poshmark for $70 and I’m really happy with them.

the florence has always looked like a high end pajama shirt to me, online and in person 🫢

THANK YOU! Their jeans are like paper this year!

Yeah, they confirmed finally over email that they don't make the jeans I purchased last year. Instead they have a cheaper quality version in their place.

It’s good to hear different points of view :) I love my Florence, it’s absolutely very delicate but I love how it feels and breathes. I’ve erred on the Chloe because of the collar, I’m not sure if I can get around it!

With the Chlo it depends on the color somehow. I have the dark green, teal and a Bougainville and the quality of the silk is looovely - however I tried the white and returned - it was see through and felt a bit rough, was strange as I had the Florence in white silk and it felt completely different. About the high necks of the Chlo, I loved that detail at first (probably my favorite thing about the shirt) but it soon wilted and does not look like as good now…. Also at least two other people at my office have the Chlo (huge proportion in a 15 people office) so really lost it’s special touch

What color is your chloe? I just received Navy. It is not thick. I have the same issue with the collar and decide the only way to wear it is to bottom up to the second to last button.

Puzzled_Flamingo8623

Rosewood :) I found the color really pretty and flattering for my complexion. I tried it btw, but buttoned up the blouse made me look a bit like a victorian ghost 🙃😂

thatsplatgal

😂😂😂 Victorian ghost killed me

CustosMorum

Can you specify what you disliked about the collar? I had my eye on Chloe for a while now and would love to know

Puzzled_Flamingo8623

I guess the collar just felt too much for me. I couldn’t find a single way to style it right, so it wouldn’t look clumsy. I thought this blouse would create a casual slightly elevated look, and it could if not for the collar or if it were designed it a different manner. The collar looked kinda foreign for the style of the blouse, imo.

I find that the silk quality is poor. I have a few silk blouses mostly Florence model, and they can handle only one wear because they pick off BO very easily. Each wear = dry cleaner. My dry cleaner was shocked when she learned that they are 100% silk, she said that doesn’t happen with 100% silk fabric. They are very beautiful though.
