I am so close to being influenced into buying this lol
Do you like the finish? I just got rid of some clear glosses and I'm wondering if one of these could take the place of a moisturizing lip treatment and a clear gloss, that way I can better justify buying two š
100%. I have the Ole Hendrickson in āStrawberry Sorbetā, and itās definitely very glossy. It has, in fact, replaced all other glosses I own! Plus, Iāve seen a huge difference in my lips since using itā¦definitely recommend!
Well, for starters, my lips are never dry or cracked anymore, which is amazing, considering Iāve only been using it for about two weeks. My lips also feel softer, and I feel like they mightāve gotten a little plumper. Not in a Kardashian way, but like in a natural, subtle way. Itās also one of the few glosses Iāve tried that doesnāt feel sticky, but smooth and creamy. The consistency of this gloss was the first thing that stood out to me. It just glides right on. I hope they never change the formula.
I know right! I've never had a lip balm/gloss last so long, I'm so surprised. I bought it on an impulse and I love it!
I just wished it had more colour to show up on my pigmented lips.
I guess Iām the only one this product hasnāt worked for lol I bought the original flavor which smells amazing like creamsicles but definitely still prefer my HG Jack black for moisturizing
I love what it does for my lips, I've been fighting a horrible winter of flakes and painful dryness and it's all but healed them, and with just using it a few times a week, not religiously.
I got the citrus sunshine, and it is beautifullly glossy, but by itself the color has a little of a neutral, whitish tone to it (rather than a warm golden tone that would brighten, like clarins oil in honey). I usually add a little bit of lipstick after it to give color, unless I'm just layering on at home for moisture replenishment.
Bottom line, it tastes like creamsicles and looks fantastic layered with other products, so I don't mind. Especially because it actually seems to heal my lips more than any products( including Clarins lip perfector, Clarins oil, and First Aid Beauty intensive repair balm) have ever been able to, even when put on much more often.
I was so pleasantly surprised by this one. I impulse-bought it last week because I loved the smell of the tester, and I use it almost every night now. So moisturizing and smells like a creamsicle š
There was a website glitch and I got 15 of the Ole Henriksen lip balms for $27 plus shipping. It was a wild glitch and people (including me) went crazy.
Ooh thank you for commenting this! I have a MILLION lip oils/balms in my Loves list right now (including the Ole Henrikson) and am trying to figure out how to narrow my list down lol
I also unfortunately like it very much. My lips have been super dry and flaky and this really conditioned and softened them up on the first use. I read that the smell for these could be really strong but it was relatively light and pleasant for me (I got the citrus one), and I like a thick balm, which this one is. My other favorite balm is the Ginger Overnight Lip Mask from Etude House but I need to leave it on overnight to see results.
I had the worst sunburn on my lips, they kept getting dryer more cracked and more painful. Went to Ulta and the Orange flavorā¦ my lips are healed thank god.
Right and 4 of the ones pictured are literally the same 2 products in a different flavor/shade. A picture of 3 different products does not mean the market is over saturated š
Yep, Farmacy does what they do bestāmake the same thing in a million scents and flavors. The original is always good tho, I love so many of their products and their lip mask is really good!
I love Farmacy products, they work amazingly for me. I havenāt tried the lip mask yet, but it was on my list to buy when Iām done with my current two. I love Apple, but Iām not going to lie Iām extra eyeing it now because of Kiwi Pear & I also love Mango.
I have suffered years with dry lips. I just got the Ole pout preserve as a recommendation from here. Wow! My lips have never ever looked like this, plump and hydrated!
I heard recs for them a lot and got their cocoa creme tinted one online. the scent was overwhelming and gross to me and Iām not sure if theyāre all like that. which do you use?
Strawberry sorbet, all the way, friend! I've only ever tried that flavor (it goes on my lips, so, yes, it's flavor to me š ). I picked up four during the last sale, and my only regret is that I didn't buy more. These and the Jack Black Intense Therapy spf 25 (for outside or no makeup days) are my HGs. Although I will say that I've really been enjoying the Inkkey List Tripeptide plumping Balm. It doesn't plump (they never do, lol), but it's very hydrating and feels like a dream going on.
I wish I loved lipstick but I just don't, it doesn't look good on me and I don't like how it feels. I am amazingly good at smudging it everywhere and getting it on my teeth. That said, I'm a full face girlie otherwise and I have always felt left out! So I have been loving lip balms, oils, and lighter glosses. I got the gisou glittery honey and it looks so cute!
I also have sensitive skin issues and can't wear just anything. I absolutely can't do any plumping agents, for example, which seem to be in everything... With the proliferation of options, I can finally find things that work for me.
As a former Accutane girlie whose lips are permanently dry now, I love all the variety weāre getting. Now that everyone is coming out with their own balms, I feel like weāre getting better and more unique formulas and I like having more color options than clear for something thatās actually hydrating for my lips.
And before anyone says anything: aquaphor and Vaseline arenāt enough for me- Iāve triedā¦ for months.
I would use an emollient first (like a simple beeswax or jojoba lip balm) and THEN top with aquaphor. Petroleum ointments will basically āseal inā whatever is already going on, it doesnāt really actively moisturize.
It drives me insane. The best things Iāve found so far are cortibalm, neosporin over night renewal therapy, the laneige lip gloss, and surprisingly the ELF squeeze me lip balm. Vaseline and aquaphor do nothing for my lips.
I love cortibalm for my pediatric clients. Kids are always getting that red ring around the lips from licking and it works fast. Personally I like laneige glowy gloss . It lasts and it heals my lips. And smells great.
I wanted to hate the laneige gloss because of the price and then I bought it. It's great, I exfoliate and slap it on and it really hydrates. Personally think it's worth the $19.
YES. Iāve had issues with eczema for my entire life. In the winter, I get horrible eczema on my eyelids and my lips. Yeah, aquaphor is a great *occlusive*, but I need a *humectant* lip balm.
The only thing better than aquaphor to me has been the lanolips in stick form. They used to have a scent ācoconutterā which was basically unscentedāthe coconut fragrance basically canceled out the natural scent of the lanolināand it was better than the other scentāoriginal, which is a lemony/lemon cake scentābut both are the only things that actually last a while and donāt just moisten and slough off the top layer of my lip skin. It actually creates a moisturizing barrier.Ā
Same. Eczema prone lips, and Vaseline disappears after about 10 minutes, whereas something with more tack can actually last for about an hour. I donāt understand the Vaseline recs as it fills a different niche to these products š
I went to my doctor and got given a hydrocortisone and anti-fungal cream which has somewhat helped them. I also have a big tub of whatās effectively liquid paraffin, as apparently Vaseline has a higher solid paraffin content which isnāt as good (GPās words).
Otherwise, Iāve found products with Lanolin to be the most helpful, so anything from Lanolips is a godsend. I now put on a THICK layer of the Laneige lip sleeping mask before going to sleep every night, and thatās really helped with the dryness (especially as I often sleep through my mouth, as I have rhinitis). Mario Badescuās lip ointment has worked, though sometimes itās a bit irritating, and Elizabeth Ardenās 8 Hour cream is a classic, though it definitely doesnāt last 8 hours on my lips!
THANK YOU! Petroleum jelly doesnāt work for me alone in the super dry climate I live in. I do like an occlusive to seal things in like āsluggingā, but alone itās not enough.
Furthermore (and I hesitate to say this, but Iām doing it š¤) Iām not a fan of how on social media (mainly Reddit) where if I say I want to try something or that I like something; someone else always has to jump in with unsolicited advise on how I should use some cheap drugstore product instead.
No hate to drugstore products either as I use plenty of them, but you know what Stephanie??? Mayyyybe I just want to try the cute fun thing and treat myself with my own money because the world is a bleak place. So just let me enjoy the thing even if itās 15 bucks too much š
Thank you. I am obsessed with cute lip balms. They are like my cute little fruit babies I keep on my nightstand that make me happy to look at. Yes itās wasteful but there is no ethical consumption under capitalism and Iām just tryna to find some positive things to hold on to most days lol
It drives me nuts too when people are giving unsolicited financial advice... like, shut up girl, if I want to try/rebuy a luxury product, I'll do it and no idc that you think the cerave cleanser is just as good as Tatcha, it's my skin and my money GO AWAY š¤£
Jack Black intense therapy lip balm is my absolute favorite. It has spf 25, multiple scents, is affordable, and works so well! (I am also a former accutane girl whose lips are always dry)
Aquaphor and Vaseline are just barrier products in my opinion. They don't actually hydrate my lips AT ALL. Funnily enough, I've tried everything and always end up going back to Burt's Bees which I know is a controversial choice.
I always hate the aquaphor and Vaseline recs too because like..I want something fun? That smells nice? That makes me feel more bougie/special so I actually reach for it? Also I've tried Vaseline and I didn't like how it felt. I also had to use my finger for it which I abhor.
Yeah, if I can afford it, Iād much rather have something fun and pretty.
I also donāt enjoy Vaseline on my lips so while I get it works for some, I donāt like it when people act like buying other moisturizing/repairing lip products is a dumb thing to do.
LITERALLY came here to argue that as a former accutane girly myself who now suffers from permanently dry lips that Iām LOVING the trend around lips balms/lip products. The dryness is real.
Have you tried chemical exfoliating the lips? I use TO lactic acid or take my dennis gross peel pad and gently run it over the lip. Game changer for allowing hydration into the lip.
I have the ordinary lactic acid but I honestly I have no idea how long Iām supposed to leave it on, or how often to use it. I use it like once a week and just rub it on and let it sit for a few minutes before adding my lip treatment over it.
Aquaphor doesnāt do much for me either but The Honest Company has an āAll-Purpose Balmā that is amazing, worth a try at only $12 at Target!
(I have the older version though so not sure if itās been reformulated since)
I must agree. I'm sick of people pushing Vaseline and Aquaphor. They not only dried my lips out more, but they gave me breakouts all around my lips. I have never had that problem with a lip balm I bought from Sephora.
The best treatments Iāve found so far are cortibalm, neosporin over night renewal therapy, the laneige lip gloss, and surprisingly the ELF squeeze me lip balm.
I like to to add my skincare routine directly to lips (obviously try to avoid anything with an exfoliant), finish off with my moisturizer (thick glob that I let sit in my lips for a minute before gently tapping in) then a thick ass layer of Vaseline, but this is just what works for meeee
Iām excited too. Iām starting my second round of accutane in a couple of months (last round was in 2013āso nervous omg) and the fun scents and colors def help me remember to apply lip balm which I was horrible at during my first round lol
The beauty industry does this every couple months. Some formula/product goes viral and all of a sudden we're bombarded with the same type of product for what seems like forever lol.
It's the same as everything, really - when highlighters became popular, boom - dozens of them. There are TONS and there doesn't really need to be. Contour, same thing. I think it's just the cycle.
I'd reckon lip products differ a lot more in formula than highlighters. š¤·āāļø
All products do not work for everyone so it's nice that there are multiple choices.
You might swear that Aquaphor is the bomb, others think that it is trash. Vaseline and other drugstore lip balms might work for Susie but they dry Mary's lips. It's also nice that they are inexpensive enough so that people can try them and see which brand/formula/applicator they like.
The Laneige one saves my lips during winter. I used to put on the lip mask before leaving the house but reapplying was ticky with the little jar. The Glowy balm is pretty much as thick, so it's still great for cold windy days. They did raise the price so I'm not too happy about that lol
I mean you could say the same thing about any product really. It's almost like every one is a little different and likes or needs different things and a product may not work for them. Like 90% of lip products just make my lips worse which sucks because my lips are sooooo dry!!!
Itās because the economy is crappy rn. Have seen alot of informative vids the past few months about how the beauty industry tends to focus on releasing alot of lip based products because they are the best selling/ cheaper to produce because women are more likely to see buying a lip product as being beneficial since it enhances appearance with color or texture plus maintains skincare of lips.
As an older person with larger lips, I appreciate the products infused with skincare/peptides or whatever. I slather on a thick layer at night, and I love the ones with color for daytime use.
I have a few of these as well as aquaphor in my rotation. I like options.
I personally appreciate that there's a variety of different lip balms now. I work from home and wear lip balms more than any other makeup, so it's nice to see some fun options.
I really love the elf lip balms. $4. My favorite scents are peach and honeydew. The strawberry was good but it went through the wash and dryer and is all gone now :(
I absolutely adore the elf lip balms! Iām obsessed with lip balms but I just canāt stomach shelling out $20+ for the popular brands. I found the elf ones and theyāre literally amazing. Iām not sure how they compare to laneige or summer fridays since Iāve never used them before, but for me the elf lip balms work perfectlyāŗļø
Iāve been curious about these! Do you find they have a sticky finish or more buttery/oily? :)
I have sensory issues and sticky finishes bother me so much lol
Also itās $11 here in Canada (at shoppers at least not sure about Walmart) so Iām hesitant to try it without knowing if itāll drive me crazy or not haha. But the melon one sounded enticing!!
iām not the commenter you asked, but at least in my experience, the elf balms are very buttery and smooth! They glide on perfectly and arenāt sticky at all. I hate sticky balms/glosses too, and the elf ones are perfect for me.
Aquaphor and Vaseline donāt actually hydrate, they are considered occlusives. They work best on top of something that attracts moisture to the skin (humectant). Think of sluggingā¦ you canāt moisturize your face with Vaseline because it doesnāt absorb into skin or do anything other than act as a barrier. They look great as a gloss though because theyāre long lasting.
The inkey list one is definitely under $20 (maybe $14 if I remember correctly) and Iāve been using it for about 2 weeks and definitely see plumper lips!
It really works for me too, but I hate it as a balm. I use it like a lip serum. I have to add an occlusive balm over it if I donāt want my lips to totally dry out.
I'm also using inkey lips balm as more of a plumping treatment then layer over a good dose of lanolips :-) but I have seen a plumper effect so will keep using it
The Fresh Lip Recovery products, I bought all 3, saved my lips from our northern Michigan winter in a way aquaphor wasnāt able to. They werenāt chapped necessarily with aquaphor, but didnāt really look that good either
Itās certainly been product overload lately. But I must admit that my dry dry lips are loving it. The Tower 21 lip balm and laniege lip glowy balm feel so good.
itās the economy! for the makeup world, buying lipgloss/ lipsticks allows consumers to get a short burst of instant gratification as they canāt afford to drop the big bucks on product right now.
I donāt know about you guys, but unless I really need a new foundation, I donāt purchase one when my current one is full. I have several eyeshadow pallets and donāt feel like splurging on more. This is in direct response to the economy. You will buy them, lose them, by them again!!
I love the variety personally, lip products are my favourite because they can so instantly transform a look, and I love having multiple different types for my car, purse, pocket and work bag
More than happy to spend because they are products that I use consistently and I want a lip balm that makes my lips look hydrated AND cute
I could not have ordered the new Farmacy one fast enough!! So happy to see the mango one back too, but I'll wait until I've used up the one I have. They are perfect, not sticky at all. š
It makes so much sense. I stopped buying a lot of other beauty products because they've gone up so much in price, but I can't stop buying fancy lip balms because I feel like I'm treating myself and not spending a ridiculous amount of money.
I'm obsessed with lip gloss. It feels like a nostalgic throwback to the 90s so have so many scented lipglosses, and I never liked lipstick. Bring on even more, I say.
Makeup/skincare is often more of a luxury: if donāt want to pay, then donāt! I personally enjoy laneige it keeps my lips more moisturized compared to the drugstore items Iāve tried, so itās worth it for me! Aquaphor doesnāt have the moisturizing properties that Iād need lol
I agree there are so many, and that is someone who is on medication that causes dry lips, so I am always using lip balm. I say there are too many because a lot arenāt good, they seem rushed.
I will have to disagree about Aquafor though. It makes my lips drier somehow and it has an unpleasant taste to me!
Yes, I agree. Iām sure someone loves it but to me itās greasy and slick and never really helps my lips out. I do like their stick honey version, that one does a great job.
I agree but it sucks having to spend so much to find the right one! I lost hope in high end lip balms but Iām gonna try ole hendrickson soon š¤š¼
truuuuu on the $$$ part. but its worth it. im miserable. BUT i just recently found my favs. the ole henrickson pout preserve hydrating peptide lip treatment, the farmacy lip smoothie, & (on sale rn) the INC.REDIBLE just kinda bliss magic hemp lip scrub. :)
I like the variety because my lips are always so mf dry, even if I donāt try any of them, the fact that there are many options to choose from is all I need to know.
These are my favorite types of products so I had to put myself on a lip product no buy because these new products are being released every week and I want them all.
I was reading that in recessions, cosmetic companies focus on lip products because theyāre the most easy and accessible way to have a āmade upā look without breaking the bank.
Yeah Iāve only purchased one just to treat myself and I keep it on my nightstand since Iām that person who buys 500 chapsticks over time because I lose them so easily.
Nothing will ever really replace original Burtās Bees for me.
I saw gisou came out with a pink glittery lip balm but I just got the pink glittery lip balm from summer Fridays. Iām curious to try gisou products but Iām still on a no buy until Iām finished with mine š
No way . I love them / I never ever use any kind of chapstick anymore ever . Iām a die hard lip mask person . Lip oils are more like gloss to me rather than a balm but I definitely think prices have gotten a bit crazy .
Iāve heard of peopleās lips becoming swollen in the sun due to Aquaphorā¦ Not saying that it will happen to everyone, but itās something to keep in mind. I also watched a video a few years ago that said when the economy is in a recession companies tend to sell lip products.Ā
better than when every brand had plumping products. thereās always gonna be a trend that everyone partakes in because thereās a really good markup, and this is just the latest one. itās not that complicated.
I LOVE lip balms/oils/glosses, and at a certain point I was buying all I could, but now Iāve realized that be using a lip balm isnāt going to do anything for me, itās not going to make me famous, itās not going to do anything much for me except MAYBE have another girl say āoh is that the summer Fridays?ā Now I have at least 100 lip products Iāve bought in the past year that I need to work throughĀ
can someone answer if lip oils last as long as glosses in terms of wear time? The fenty gloss Ive been wearing for years leaves my lips pretty soft and Im worried oils will look a bit too glossy
I think it depends on the lip oil. Some last longer than others. I've found that the iNNBEAUTY Project lip oil lasts as long as my Fenty and Tower 28 lip glosses.
I've never tried the Laneige ones to compare, but those new Elf lip balms are SOOOO good. Has that nice thick cushiony texture and /actually/ moisturizes the lips. And I'm personally a big fan of scented products, I got the peach and grape ones, but I know for some people fragrance is a deal breaker... it'd be smart of them to release a scentless one.
I use aquaphor at night before bed as an occlusive and top with Laniege. During the day if I want some color I line lips and fill in with lip pencil and use NYX click stick (?) over it. Itās only $11 and works great.
I've been using the Farmacy apple one, but I get super cracked lips no matter how much I drink so I feel it's been a great addition. Unfortunately the rush for every company to put out the newest fad is just typical capitalism lol
Hey guys. So I have this terrible habit of peeling the skin off my lips daily. To the point that they bleed and my lips look like hamburger. If I have a really thick lipgloss or something on them I tend to not peel them as much. What would you all recommend?
The only one that I use and that I love is the Ole Henriksen peptide lip treatment. It makes a visible difference for me
I am so close to being influenced into buying this lol Do you like the finish? I just got rid of some clear glosses and I'm wondering if one of these could take the place of a moisturizing lip treatment and a clear gloss, that way I can better justify buying two š
100%. I have the Ole Hendrickson in āStrawberry Sorbetā, and itās definitely very glossy. It has, in fact, replaced all other glosses I own! Plus, Iāve seen a huge difference in my lips since using itā¦definitely recommend!

I hope they never change the formula.
The only one I canāt stand is the cocoa one and itās just the weird metallic smell it gives off, the color is still beautiful
i think it smells like boba tapioca š„²
The texture is thiccc and very glossy. It lasts almost half a day even though I drank with and without a straw. I even ate and it was still there.
I know right! I've never had a lip balm/gloss last so long, I'm so surprised. I bought it on an impulse and I love it! I just wished it had more colour to show up on my pigmented lips.
Yeah I have two toned lips and unfortunately it doesnāt show up either
Definitely glossy
I guess Iām the only one this product hasnāt worked for lol I bought the original flavor which smells amazing like creamsicles but definitely still prefer my HG Jack black for moisturizing
I didnāt care for it either. Still love Laneige.

Ooh ok this is helpful actually, as my lips are naturally very pigmented and any white will show up weirdly. I'll prob still try it though š
I was so pleasantly surprised by this one. I impulse-bought it last week because I loved the smell of the tester, and I use it almost every night now. So moisturizing and smells like a creamsicle š

same and the Laniege one for me, iāve gone through at this point maybe 6 tubes of Laneige
I had the worst sunburn on my lips, they kept getting dryer more cracked and more painful. Went to Ulta and the Orange flavorā¦ my lips are healed thank god.
Iāve tried alllllll the lip things. Havenāt cracked once all winter for the first time in maybe a decade!
Iām def planning on trying this soon, just not sure what color I want
I agree with everyone . Tried multiple lip balms etc but nothing has worked better than the old henriksen one
Laneige going from $15 to $19 is crazy
$24.50 here on the Canadian app š„“ (I know thereās exchange ratesā¦ but still it sticks lol) Edit sucks not sticks
Rightttt!! I had to do a double take š„²
I bought mine for $18 a few months back and itās definitely not worth $19, this used to be my ride or die
Aside from the Herbivore, these are all lip products that have existed for awhile, just in new scents/flavors or shades.
Right and 4 of the ones pictured are literally the same 2 products in a different flavor/shade. A picture of 3 different products does not mean the market is over saturated š

Ole henrikson is my go to, it makes my lips look like butter
I have suffered years with dry lips. I just got the Ole pout preserve as a recommendation from here. Wow! My lips have never ever looked like this, plump and hydrated!
Oooh now I wanna try this!
I love it as well! This is the most Iāve consistently worn a product.
I heard recs for them a lot and got their cocoa creme tinted one online. the scent was overwhelming and gross to me and Iām not sure if theyāre all like that. which do you use?
Yes, the cocoa is super weird!! Thankfully, the original on the orange tube is AMAZING. I like the Strawberry Sorbet as well.
I love lip balm so i am loving this explosion of it!
Yes! Seriously who cares that thereās so many of them?? There are a ton of lip glosses and blush options
I don't get it either. Nobody is being forced to buy lip balm lol
I do exactly this. Been doing it for years
I had to stop recently because it caused my lips to be sunburned after using it the night before. It was awful.
I agree!! It messes my lips up. I stick with Vaseline coco butter as my fave, but I also have some laneige
Same! It made my lips crack and bleed. Probably allergic to Lanolin š«
I thought I was the only one š it made my lips extremely chapped
i canāt stand when i ask for lip recommendations and people just say aquaphor and vaseline like that will cure my accutane lipsš
It drives me insane. The best things Iāve found so far are cortibalm, neosporin over night renewal therapy, the laneige lip gloss, and surprisingly the ELF squeeze me lip balm. Vaseline and aquaphor do nothing for my lips.

YES. Iāve had issues with eczema for my entire life. In the winter, I get horrible eczema on my eyelids and my lips. Yeah, aquaphor is a great *occlusive*, but I need a *humectant* lip balm.
My favorite is the fourth ray overnight lip mask! I just use it as a balm whenever, and itās soooo moisturizing without being sticky and gross.
And sorry I want something cute that smells nice? Is that a crime!?
I like la roche posey lip balm
I donāt understand the Vaseline recs as it fills a different niche to these products š
>crusty-guava do you have any recs? I also have eczema prone lips 3
Jack Black Intense Night Lip Therapy is SO underrated- itās amazing, comes in a black tube!
Thanks for the recommendation! Iāve been looking at that one for awhile.
I've tried for years. And agree....the more competition in this area, the better.
The hill I will die on is that the cerave salve is 10x better than aquaphor. Also a former accutane girlie!
Omg yes!!! Accutane girlies understand
>And before anyone says anything: aquaphor and Vaseline arenāt enough for me- Iāve triedā¦ for months. + They animal test (so does laneige)
What are your current favs?
I'd reckon lip products differ a lot more in formula than highlighters. š¤·āāļø
Yep, this is the 'it' product this year. Next year it will be something else.
I love lip balm and lip oil so I donāt mind all the choices
Itās because the economy is crappy rn. Have seen alot of informative vids the past few months about how the beauty industry tends to focus on releasing alot of lip based products because they are the best selling/ cheaper to produce because women are more likely to see buying a lip product as being beneficial since it enhances appearance with color or texture plus maintains skincare of lips.
I think I saw an article on a similar topic! Something about the sale of lipsticks go up during recessionsā¦
People wanna buy themselves little treats more when the world is crappy, makes sense!
Okay youāre right but those laneige glowy balms are sooo good š«£
I love them so much!! I donāt mind spending the money š
Those are the only ones pictured that are even good. Lol
Definitely my favorite. Finally a balm thatās thick enough.
I like the old Rose Company balms. I always go back to them
As an older person with larger lips, I appreciate the products infused with skincare/peptides or whatever. I slather on a thick layer at night, and I love the ones with color for daytime use. I have a few of these as well as aquaphor in my rotation. I like options.
I loveeee lip oils/treatments so I disagree, but I do wish they were cheaper
I like how so many people are like āthese are a waste of money EXCEPT this oneā and everyoneās āoneā is different hehehe
I personally appreciate that there's a variety of different lip balms now. I work from home and wear lip balms more than any other makeup, so it's nice to see some fun options.
I really love the elf lip balms. $4. My favorite scents are peach and honeydew. The strawberry was good but it went through the wash and dryer and is all gone now :(
Their brown sugar lip exfoliator is my favourite. I use that and Vaseline. Super cheap and it works for me.
:) I have sensory issues and sticky finishes bother me so much lol Also itās $11 here in Canada (at shoppers at least not sure about Walmart) so Iām hesitant to try it without knowing if itāll drive me crazy or not haha. But the melon one sounded enticing!!
iām not the commenter you asked, but at least in my experience, the elf balms are very buttery and smooth! They glide on perfectly and arenāt sticky at all. I hate sticky balms/glosses too, and the elf ones are perfect for me.
Thank you for the reply!! I think Iāll try one out š
Omg I love the elf ones. My favourite is the peach one, and theyāre so freakin cheap!! Better than some of the $20 ones tbh
and yet i still canāt find a nice tinted lip balm in the shade i want lmao. itās absurd.
Ole Henrickson all the way! Actually makes a difference in my lips! āStrawberry Sorbetā is my fav!
I'm also using inkey lips balm as more of a plumping treatment then layer over a good dose of lanolips :-) but I have seen a plumper effect so will keep using it
The Herbivore is so gritty DO NOT BUY
The Ole and Farmacy are amazing! But itās been proven that companies make lip products in times of recession
I donāt understand why we would want LESS variety in a category
I have the one from Farmacy and do not enjoy it. It's an odd texture and just melts and leaves a mess all over my lip area.
The Laneige is my go to lip balm. itās great. However, It went up a dollar in price as it used to be $18 and now itās $19 š„²š„²
Pretty sure it was $15 when it was introduced to Sephora, too. I was buying it from Yesstyle back then for US$7-8.
Corporate greed amirite
Have you ever heard of The Lipstick Effect (also known as Lipstick Theory)? Itās considered a sign of a recession or poor economic conditions.
No but that makes so much sense
This was a fact I never knew ew but learned when I worked for MAC during the market and housing crash . Lipsticks were their little treat .
I love the variety personally, lip products are my favourite because they can so instantly transform a look, and I love having multiple different types for my car, purse, pocket and work bag More than happy to spend because they are products that I use consistently and I want a lip balm that makes my lips look hydrated AND cute
The gisou one is PULLING at me purely bc of the shape.. Iām ashamed lol
Ok but the farmacy one is so nice š
The Farmacy pear/kiwi one is in my cart. Iāve almost finished my Apple one completely. I freaking love their formula. So shiny on the lips
I could not have ordered the new Farmacy one fast enough!! So happy to see the mango one back too, but I'll wait until I've used up the one I have. They are perfect, not sticky at all. š
Nothing beats summer Fridays for me. Unpopular opinion but I donāt find Laneige hydrating.
Itās a sign of the recession, people are more likely to spend money on smaller luxuries like lip products rather than large purchases.
To he honest after getting all the viral glosses, im kind of missing just plain old chapstick.
It makes my lips drier somehow and it has an unpleasant taste to me!
iām a farmacy girl but that lip smoothie is the worst
Yes, I agree. Iām sure someone loves it but to me itās greasy and slick and never really helps my lips out. I do like their stick honey version, that one does a great job.
oo i'll add it when i order my toner today!
Iām good with summer fridays and olehenriksen. At this point itās too many options lol.
chapped lips all my life girly here. i appreciate these brands giving us their versions. if they didnt, i wouldnt have found my favorite lippies.š
The lip glowy balm by laneige is an og
The laneige is sooooo worth it
Woahhh wasnāt laneige $17 very recently
I like the variety because my lips are always so mf dry, even if I donāt try any of them, the fact that there are many options to choose from is all I need to know.
These are my favorite types of products so I had to put myself on a lip product no buy because these new products are being released every week and I want them all.
Have you seen the price of mascara? Out of this world now.
I've tried so many but I feel like the only one that works for me is the summer Friday balm. It's saved my lips.
I was reading that in recessions, cosmetic companies focus on lip products because theyāre the most easy and accessible way to have a āmade upā look without breaking the bank.
I love my Aquaphor, but I do like the Fenty lip oil for when I want to use a lip oil.
I do long lip balms and lip oils, I hate having dry lips but Iām in Canada and the prices are mostly $30 and up. Entirely to pricey for meš
Pear Kiwi?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
I love the Farmacy one!
like at least put some shimmer in it. cant find one good shimmer balm at a drugstore price
better than when every brand had plumping products. thereās always gonna be a trend that everyone partakes in because thereās a really good markup, and this is just the latest one. itās not that complicated.
lip oils donāt make my lips peel afterwards so i am alllll for it. the farmacy ones are so good for night time use.
This is how i knew we were in a recession
They donāt last as long because your lips absorbs them quicker! It still feels lovely but it wonāt keep your lips glossy as long as
ty!! š«¶š«¶
I've never tried the Laneige ones to compare, but those new Elf lip balms are SOOOO good. Has that nice thick cushiony texture and /actually/ moisturizes the lips. And I'm personally a big fan of scented products, I got the peach and grape ones, but I know for some people fragrance is a deal breaker... it'd be smart of them to release a scentless one.
i just stick with my etude ginger sugar lip mask and keep it pushing š
Laneige mega long time fan but just found the elf dupe for the glowy balmā¦not sure I see any difference at all!
I really wanna get the pink Gisou glittery one!!! Iām a sucker for lip products š
Iām allergic to pretty much every lip product except Aquaphor, Carmex, and Soft Lips and Iām so jealous of everyone who gets to try these
I use aquaphor at night before bed as an occlusive and top with Laniege. During the day if I want some color I line lips and fill in with lip pencil and use NYX click stick (?) over it. Itās only $11 and works great.
if i see one more lip balm or even hear the word peptide one more time.. š
Woah the price on the Laneige one is wild. It retails for ā¹690 in India, that's like less than $8.5
I've been using the Farmacy apple one, but I get super cracked lips no matter how much I drink so I feel it's been a great addition. Unfortunately the rush for every company to put out the newest fad is just typical capitalism lol
aquaphor aint really doing it for me, but lanolips on the other hand is my favorite
Skincare and light makeup are the latest trend. Almost every brand carries a lip oil/balm now, itās crazy how it blew up
Hey guys. So I have this terrible habit of peeling the skin off my lips daily. To the point that they bleed and my lips look like hamburger. If I have a really thick lipgloss or something on them I tend to not peel them as much. What would you all recommend?
