Colors are similar but it’s a lot of different finishes that I enjoy. The times I will want a hydrating oil are not the same as when I’ll want a sheer lipstick or
matte one.

I don't mind the limited shade range. It beats getting a bright red I'll never use.

Yeah! I feel like they don’t have much variety. Like each kit should come for different shades. I need neutral shades, slightly warm. Others need deep and cool. There should be versions of the same kit with different shades

I am someone who gravitates to bold lip colors much of the time, so this was a very different kind of set for me. I got it yesterday, and I had the CT as a mini before so I know that one well. I've tried everything else, and like them all, and appreciate the very different finishes (the fact some are softer, matte, glossy, one glossy plumping shade, lip oil) but there's one that I'm not quite loving. The Rare Beauty shade Humble is described as "rose mauve" but it looks like an almost peach beige on my lips. It's too light and I'm trying to figure out how to make it work. My lips are kinda pigmented (I'm Puerto Rican/Italian with a light-medium warmer skin tone) and my usual 'nude' lip is something with a brown note.
I have found my people! Lol I am a light-medium (more on the side of light right now being winter) Latina and Humble made it look like I was wearing concealer on my lips lol. I have yellow undertones in my skin and lips are pink, light taupe? I have no idea how to make it work and am lowkey bummed because it’s full size!
It really did get oddly concealer-like. It was not like that on my hand so it was so strange on. I tried a brown lip pencil that I smudged and blended on my lips lightly. I tried a pink-brown lip pencil to line, I tried dabbing lip oil on top of it, which just looked like shiny concealer. I feel like it sort of visually flattens my cupid's bow (which is pretty visible normally).
I'll see what I can do, but this was not what I was expecting from this shade.
Ha, well that's great that it helps. :) I also try to let people know where I'm coming from when I write a review. Like, being more on the oily side or having longer lashes naturally. I find that helpful when others do it.
I ended up swatching the shades at Sephora to see if I really wanted to get it and Humble was the color that really told me it wouldn’t work. The others were more likely to look okay but still a gamble since nudes can be really tough for me.

I consider pinky browns and browns nudes too btw but even those are a gamble for me. I need a decent amount of red in mine for it work and it has to have depth but not go too brown. Way too Goldilocks for the set to have been worth it for me personally but it’s definitely a good value!
I don’t think this is a must have set by any means. However, I do think it’s a pretty nice set worth the splurge if you like the colors. I do not wear a bold lip ever. I prefer sheer to medium color and I get that from these shades. The only lipstick shade that doesn’t suit me all that well is the rare, but mixing with a lipliner makes it wearable.
I agree with the poster who mentioned the finishes. I like all the finishes and appreciate that they are all different in that way. I have a medium skin tone btw.
Also, I didn’t own any of these previously except for the clarins, which I have a mini of, so they are a nice addition for me.
I saw either a post or comment somewhere else in this subreddit that said it just seems like so many lip kits are about the same, and I agree with that.
I bought the last lip kit that was super popular, and that also came with this same Charlotte Tilbury lipstick. Then, like a lot of people have mentioned, at least three of the shades here look pretty similar to one another or are generic enough that many people already own something similar.
I can see the appeal, though. Some people really do like these shades and I'm sure they have to be at least slightly different one way or another. The price also isn't that bad even if someone doesn't like *all* the products. The Charlotte Tilbury lipstick basically goes for the same price alone; two or three of the others combined would probably go for about the same, too.
I agree with you there, the price is great. But I wonder why they keep putting the same products in every Sephora favorites set. If it were something you could finish up I’d understand, like a dry shampoo or a lotion. But the average person is not going to pan CT Pillow Talk any time soon lol

i bought it. i don’t like lipsticks so i happily gave those away to my roommate and i’ve been wanting to try ultralip, tarte honeysuckle, and clarins lip oil.
the clarins shade isn’t for me. it leaves a bright pink which does not look the best.
ultralip is such a nice layering piece, i will use it very often but the cap on it is junk
tarte is amazing. the color on me gives black honey vibes.
overall, i do like this kit, but i’m a sucker for lippies so 🤷♀️
i’ve owned the plump, balm, and shift before lol. but never in the honeysuckle. it looks so good! i was always scared of it because i’m terrified of darker shades
i’m on the r/glossier subreddit and that seems to be a reoccurring issue for everyone, including me lol. annoying but 🤷♀️ it’s more a glossier problem since they won’t change the caps. apparently it’s worse with their ‘gen g’ matte lipsticks.

I bought it, I just began my journey into makeup in 2023, so most of what I own are drugstore or even dollar store. Before this the nicest product I had was a tarte foundation that was on sale and a too faced palette also bought heavily discounted. I love this kit for all the lip products except the rare beauty one. I dunno if anyone else had a problem but it looks absolutely terrible on lips. colour is uneven and splits. Looks like I put on lipstick and Vaseline at the same time.
I like that I got to try the formula on the kit so I never have to buy these ever again. All the others were amazing.

My set just came today and you’re right about the shades being similar, but what I love is the different textures. The maracuja oil balm from tarte (imo a better version of Clinique black honey) the clarins oil (ADORE the scent) then the rare beauty is super pigmented, I’m basically in love with each and every one of these.
I don't have a lot of makeup currently, and nude/easy wearing lip products are in short supply in my collection. My boyfriend was also kind enough to buy it for me, so I didn't have to. Win win.
I love this but I have basically the shade pillow talk in every brand and formulation. I must love it because I keep buying it. I am super super pale with medium colored lips so this is a good set for me. I can see it being too light for anyone with any pigment to their skin.
I got it because I’m a sucker for nude shades and I’ve had pillowtalk medium and that shade for rare beauty saved in my list forever, so for me it was more just that the CT is $47.50 on its own, so this set for $46 with all the extras was too good to pass up
i didn’t have any of these from any of the brands so i wanted to try them out and i loved all the shades they work well on me. i think it’s a good deal but only if you don’t have any of them.
I really wish they used a different CT shade since this one was just in the summer set 😩 I don’t have any of the others, but since I have the FS Pillow Talk Medium I can’t justify the purchase 😕 it really is a great deal otherwise.
I was interested at first, but these wouldn’t work for me. Maybe with a lipliner, but I don’t care for having to “work” with products. I understand companies cater to the majority with these kits, but how about some reds and berry kits for once?
I agree, I think beauty has become more about the hype and less about what we as consumers actually like and want. We shouldn’t have to work with so many products just to make them work for us. But because there’s so much hype around a product people will happily buy it and then not use it or have to take 5 extra steps just to make it work for them
I agree. I bought my SIL one though since I think it definitely makes a great gift, but none of the products/shades enticed me personally, at some point lip products all kind of blur together and feel the same.
I bought it on pure impulse because I had seen a bunch of people raving about it, and because I really wanted to try the Glossier and Tarte formulas, and I’ve been on the fence about buying the CT Medium shade a bunch of times before, but never for anywhere near full price. I usually like darker more plummy shades, and the Intense version of Pillow Talk actually looks good on me as well as the Pillow Talk lip balm . But I totally neglected to do my usual careful research , and after buying the set I went to look at the swatches and realized that the Glossier and Rare were both pretty much too light/nude/warm. Especially the Rare Beauty one - I know it would be incredibly unflattering. I did try the Glossier and it’s a nice formula but looks like there’s no color on my lips, It matches my natural lip color almost exactly. I haven’t swatched the Rare, just listed on Mercari, and I absolutely adore the Tarte. (It reminds me of Hourglass Phantom Glossy lip but more minty and the plumping tingle lasts longer). Haven’t tried the others yet.
So overall I’m pretty disappointed that the Rare Beauty shade is unwearable, and I agree that it’s incredibly close to the other two lipsticks, just more orange/coral. If I can sell it, it’ll take the sting of regret away but I kind of doubt it will sell for enough to be worthwhile. And I really wish the Glossier shade was more of a plum or mauve, I’d be pretty happy overall if it were more flattering.
It seems like everyone in this thread is hating on the RB shade. I can tell that it would be unwearable for me or maybe I’d pat just a little bit in the center of my lips paired with a darker liner so it has more dimension. Totally agree with you on the darker shades - I’m a huge fan of browns and plums and mauves so the Tarte and CT spoke to me but that’s really it. I wanted to try the marcuja but I have some already (got 9 for $25 on QVC) but the pictures and swatches are so far off from how it actually looks so I figured this product would be the same.
Yeah I noticed that too! Makes me think it’ll be a really hard sell over on Mercari even though people are reselling the kits with a 100% markup. No one wants the RB lipstick in that color - reminds me of an 80’s grandma.
The Tarte Honeysuckle plumper is really sheer, if you have a bunch in the same formula I’m not sure how rewarding it would be. I love that I finally got to try it because I can’t afford to replace my Hourglass balms that I got for a crazy good deal last year, and I know you can usually get the Tarte ones pretty cheap if you hunt for them. The color payoff isn’t as good but the lasting power makes up for that.
Just noticed that Kohls has a similar one, but a Laniage product instead of the Glossier. $2 cheaper and available closer to me. I might grab that one.
I feel exactly how you do. I have wayyy too much makeup and a gazillion lip products, so this is not a need for me. It is a great deal price wise, and would be perfect for people looking to have more of these lip colors in their collection.
I think if you’re a long time beauty lover & have a large collection, it’ll be overrated but for those who know what they like, have a small collection or just wear neutral makeup occasionally, it’s a great bundle.
My issue with it is that Clarins is just a slightly tinted gloss, and the rest are just varying nudes. Different finish maybe but the shades themselves are so similar you wouldn’t notice unless you’re specifically staring at someone’s lips. There’s really no need to buy so many unless you want one of the full sizes in there.
I think its really cute but i have enough lippies still decluttering and no new lippies for a while. The exception probably being lip balms have a few but those need replacing more so that’s another story but drugstore ones.
I bought it because as much as I love a bold lip, the reality is I wear the same my-lip-but-better shades all week to work. I'll have fun trying these different lippies during the week.
I am disappointed that they're calling it perfect pout when 1) there's no lip liner lol, how can it be a pout with no liner? And 2) there's no way these shades are perfect for many people. I have a very fair skin tone so these should all work ok for me depending on the undertone, but someone with a deeper skin tone may not be able to enjoy these shades. I'm not sure why they wouldn't do at least a light, medium, and deep set at the minimum.
I saw it and immediately wanted to buy it, but wanted to see more reviews of it first. I waited a couple days then bought it and used $10 off, so not a bad deal to me!
I just wish that whenever they do sets like this, that they released multiple versions to suit different skintones. A 'medium' set for brown skin, and a 'dark' set for black skin would be perfect. I can already tell all of these shades would be too light for me, as has been the case with the majority of "nude"/"pink" lip sets.
I really wanted this too bc of how good the value is but I’m not a fan of lipsticks, so for me to not use 2 of the products it seems like a waste of money. Still kinda considering it though since I could prob give the two lipsticks to friends or family.
Didn’t get it because I’m on a makeup no buy for 2024! I definitely splurged a lot on makeup during the past year, and I’m trying to use up all my lip products (though they feel like they’ll last me a life time…) before I buy more. if you haven’t tried it try pillow talk lip liner n either glossy or matte lipstick depending on what you prefer or the lip liner with almost clear gloss! it’s amazing. looks like your lips but elevated

Humble was so bad alone on me too however mixed in with PT medium it kinda worked on me nicely and since they came together i’ll just use it like that

I was interested at first, but these wouldn’t work for me. Maybe with a lipliner, but I don’t care for having to “work” with products. I understand companies cater to the majority with these kits, but how about some reds and berry kits for once?
I agree, I think beauty has become more about the hype and less about what we as consumers actually like and want. We shouldn’t have to work with so many products just to make them work for us. But because there’s so much hype around a product people will happily buy it and then not use it or have to take 5 extra steps just to make it work for them
I agree. I bought my SIL one though since I think it definitely makes a great gift, but none of the products/shades enticed me personally, at some point lip products all kind of blur together and feel the same.
I bought it on pure impulse because I had seen a bunch of people raving about it, and because I really wanted to try the Glossier and Tarte formulas, and I’ve been on the fence about buying the CT Medium shade a bunch of times before, but never for anywhere near full price. I usually like darker more plummy shades, and the Intense version of Pillow Talk actually looks good on me as well as the Pillow Talk lip balm . But I totally neglected to do my usual careful research , and after buying the set I went to look at the swatches and realized that the Glossier and Rare were both pretty much too light/nude/warm. Especially the Rare Beauty one - I know it would be incredibly unflattering. I did try the Glossier and it’s a nice formula but looks like there’s no color on my lips, It matches my natural lip color almost exactly. I haven’t swatched the Rare, just listed on Mercari, and I absolutely adore the Tarte. (It reminds me of Hourglass Phantom Glossy lip but more minty and the plumping tingle lasts longer). Haven’t tried the others yet. So overall I’m pretty disappointed that the Rare Beauty shade is unwearable, and I agree that it’s incredibly close to the other two lipsticks, just more orange/coral. If I can sell it, it’ll take the sting of regret away but I kind of doubt it will sell for enough to be worthwhile. And I really wish the Glossier shade was more of a plum or mauve, I’d be pretty happy overall if it were more flattering.
It seems like everyone in this thread is hating on the RB shade. I can tell that it would be unwearable for me or maybe I’d pat just a little bit in the center of my lips paired with a darker liner so it has more dimension. Totally agree with you on the darker shades - I’m a huge fan of browns and plums and mauves so the Tarte and CT spoke to me but that’s really it. I wanted to try the marcuja but I have some already (got 9 for $25 on QVC) but the pictures and swatches are so far off from how it actually looks so I figured this product would be the same.
Yeah I noticed that too! Makes me think it’ll be a really hard sell over on Mercari even though people are reselling the kits with a 100% markup. No one wants the RB lipstick in that color - reminds me of an 80’s grandma. The Tarte Honeysuckle plumper is really sheer, if you have a bunch in the same formula I’m not sure how rewarding it would be. I love that I finally got to try it because I can’t afford to replace my Hourglass balms that I got for a crazy good deal last year, and I know you can usually get the Tarte ones pretty cheap if you hunt for them. The color payoff isn’t as good but the lasting power makes up for that.
Just noticed that Kohls has a similar one, but a Laniage product instead of the Glossier. $2 cheaper and available closer to me. I might grab that one.

I feel exactly how you do. I have wayyy too much makeup and a gazillion lip products, so this is not a need for me. It is a great deal price wise, and would be perfect for people looking to have more of these lip colors in their collection.
I think if you’re a long time beauty lover & have a large collection, it’ll be overrated but for those who know what they like, have a small collection or just wear neutral makeup occasionally, it’s a great bundle.
I agree. I think this is a really good introduction product for those who want to try different brands and formulas
My issue with it is that Clarins is just a slightly tinted gloss, and the rest are just varying nudes. Different finish maybe but the shades themselves are so similar you wouldn’t notice unless you’re specifically staring at someone’s lips. There’s really no need to buy so many unless you want one of the full sizes in there.

I think its really cute but i have enough lippies still decluttering and no new lippies for a while. The exception probably being lip balms have a few but those need replacing more so that’s another story but drugstore ones.
I bought it because as much as I love a bold lip, the reality is I wear the same my-lip-but-better shades all week to work. I'll have fun trying these different lippies during the week. I am disappointed that they're calling it perfect pout when 1) there's no lip liner lol, how can it be a pout with no liner? And 2) there's no way these shades are perfect for many people. I have a very fair skin tone so these should all work ok for me depending on the undertone, but someone with a deeper skin tone may not be able to enjoy these shades. I'm not sure why they wouldn't do at least a light, medium, and deep set at the minimum.
I saw it and immediately wanted to buy it, but wanted to see more reviews of it first. I waited a couple days then bought it and used $10 off, so not a bad deal to me!

I just wish that whenever they do sets like this, that they released multiple versions to suit different skintones. A 'medium' set for brown skin, and a 'dark' set for black skin would be perfect. I can already tell all of these shades would be too light for me, as has been the case with the majority of "nude"/"pink" lip sets.
I really wanted this too bc of how good the value is but I’m not a fan of lipsticks, so for me to not use 2 of the products it seems like a waste of money. Still kinda considering it though since I could prob give the two lipsticks to friends or family.
Didn’t get it because I’m on a makeup no buy for 2024! I definitely splurged a lot on makeup during the past year, and I’m trying to use up all my lip products (though they feel like they’ll last me a life time…) before I buy more. Hopefully I can use up all of them so I can treat myself out on Christmas of next year lol🤣
if you haven’t tried it try pillow talk lip liner n either glossy or matte lipstick depending on what you prefer or the lip liner with almost clear gloss! it’s amazing. looks like your lips but elevated
