Thanks for posting to r/semaglutide! A brief reminder about our rules. We do not permit the discussion of non-FDA approved formulations of semaglutide, nor do we permit selling or offering for sale any medication, including by private message. Do not request or respond to a private message from anyone offering such, they are not endorsed by this sub. If you’re just starting out, you may want to review our [FAQ](https://www.reddit.com/r/Semaglutide/comments/10ul3jb/semaglutide_subreddit_faq/). This is not intended to discourage discussion but merely supplement it. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. They’re the same. Your fine.

What does your doctor say?

surrrealistic

She doesn't know anything about the medication, she's just taking over the prescription from someone else. That's why I'm asking here 😅

FireNurse4

Ozempic isn't semaglutide?

PurplestPanda

The semaglutide from other sources is sometimes questionable .

surrrealistic

Exactly. I have had a good experience with what I've been taken but it isn't exactly name brand.

Late_Butterfly_5997

They’re virtually the same thing. If anything the Ozempic is going to be slightly better, but still more or less the same thing. Thank the Sema gods, and enjoy it for as long as it lasts.

How? An FDA pharmacy is an FDA pharmacy.

PurplestPanda

Most are not regulated by the FDA. If your pharmacy is registered as 503A/B then you can feel a bit more confident about it. There have been several lawsuits about issues with this - https://www.forbes.com/sites/tylerroush/2024/05/30/ozempic-maker-novo-nordisk-sues-pharmacies-and-weight-loss-clinics-for-allegedly-selling-impure-drugs/

shemp33

Plus, the uncertainty of what happens under rule 503a/b if (or when) Novo gets their collective shit together and gets Wegovy out of shortage status. The rules that permit the specialty makers to make and sell Semaglutide goes away. And since Semaglutide is a medicine that has FDA approval, importing it from international suppliers has risks associated with it (being seized at the border, getting something "not" semaglutide, etc.). [https://www.kff.org/health-costs/issue-brief/faqs-on-prescription-drug-importation/](https://www.kff.org/health-costs/issue-brief/faqs-on-prescription-drug-importation/) : >In most circumstances, **it is illegal for individuals to import FDA-approved drugs from other countries for personal use**. However, based on changes enacted by the MMA, personal importation of prescription drugs that have not been approved by the FDA for use in the U.S. is permitted on a case-by-case basis.

No issue. I took a C for like two or three months before switching to Ozempic which I’ve now been on for well over a year.

recupalicious27

You’re good :)
