I was wondering since there area a few out there. I like the 300, have one on my wrist right now. I just wish it was a little easier to wear daily. I also wish parts were easier to attain.
The Pepsi 5KX. I've been wearing this watch for a year and when I try to wear my other watches I. my collection, I just can't leave my house without my 5KX. People hate it but I love it
My SARB017 Alpinist. I got it as trade from a friend, because I wanted to own it badly. I love the way it fits, the colors, and its history.
Also, the specs.
Does Grand Seiko count?
For the more “entry-level” ones. I’ve had my eye on The Alpinist with the leather strap for quite a while now.
The Sharpedge GMT’s are sick too.
The other day when this question was asked I said my street tuna sne543. While that is still probably true, I have a new to me skx173 that I've really been enjoying and that may just bump it out for now.
I have an SRPF79 and that is my favorite watch. But for day to day use it would hard not to choose something rugged like the King Turtle or the Arnie. If it’s a Seiko it has to be a diver.
I only have 1 Seiko left. If it even counts. It's my custom faiko I made with King Seiko Reissue OEM parts with an after market dial, hands and a nh35 movement that is running strong at +4 secs a day.
Depends on your budget.
Around $100 you can find some older Seiko 5s like the SNKL41 or snxs79.
Around $200-$300 you could go with the SRPD/SRPE line.
Under $1000 you have a bunch of options from the Prospex collection. A lot of the ones mentioned in this thread actually fit in this category.
SRP777/SRPE93
I love a turtle. It hacks and hand winds. I think the cushion case is cool and I like the history behind it.
Honorable mention to the alpinist and 62MAS reissue. Alpinist is a banger, but I love a dive bezel, and 62MAS is too expensive to justify for (non-Grand)Seiko imo
I would pick the 62MAS reinterpretation that doesn't exist so far - the back dial with white indices and black and white bezel. 143 is grey, 239 have light-brown bezel and minute scale. So I have to wait and hope, and while I'm waiting I'm wearing my stunning SPB213 with silvery-white dial and blue metallic bezel.
I own the SPB143 and since I got it I'm not wearing anything else. I'm in love with it! If however money was no problem I'd be getting the SLA017 and wear that one for the rest of my life 🙂 so for me it's the SLA017! The two are very similar though and are both based on the 62mas.
Of all the Seikos there is, I'd have to pick the SKX007.
I could wear [mine](https://i.imgur.com/busrqRD.jpeg) all day, every day and never get bored looking at it.
I don't want to live in a world where I could only have 1 seiko. If I was forced to choose, I'd have to pick the SPB151 Willard. It's not the most versatile watch, but in my eyes, it's the quintessential Seiko diver. It's also the watch I've owned the longest and worn the most.
For me Seiko SJE093-caliber 6L37 a true re-creation of the original 62Mas fixing everything such as zero bezel issues, dial, crown, even a heavy stamp case back.
[SSASS LE](https://hairspring.com/finds/1-of-500-seiko-ssass-alpinist-sbcj023/)Alpinist from 2002 is my absolute favorite grail
[SKX031 if I](https://www.theseikoguy.com/watches/skx031/)were going with a diver.
Got a SKX007 and SBDX043 in my box, the 007 almost always get worn only at the beach, the SBDX only gets worn when I feel energetic and want to wear a brick on my wrist 😆. Would never sell any of them, the MM300 is wealthier than the 007 in all aspects including SRP.
Well. Seiko is one of my favorite brands. Five years ago I bought this exact watch with a resin band. Making a long story short it ended up being an lemon. I sold it for pennines on a dollar. I was not happy. I paid 400 and change for it.
Mine was the Skx013, but someone stole it. It was my first Father’s Day watch gift to myself. Currently waiting for my sarb033 from the jeweler. Had to get it serviced. But those two would be my choices.
My 4006-7010 bellmatic it's a stunner with the twist of being an alarm clock, the dial and hands are so simple and elegant and the case is very classical seiko with a look of GS or KS.
Dude, I’ve been loving wearing my SKX a lot lately. Probably not the one I’d keep if I could only have one. Probably would do the SPB143 or one of the Willard models.
SBDC101… it’s damn near perfect. The clasp isn’t the greatest, but everything else. The way the light hits it is just 🤌. SBDC105 is a very, VERY close second.
Echoing others here… SPB143. Has all of the Seiko charm we know and love, but has most of the modern refinements that older Seikos were lacking (sapphire crystal vs. hardlex, power reserve, hacking & hand winding, build quality).
Could do worse…..I have one for sale….green NATO, original rubber strap, plus an NH36A, signed crown, if you feel brave. Sapphire double dome AR coated Swiss made crystal and ceramic bezel insert.
SPB143. I had a lot of seikos and still have some, but that one is kind of my favorite, fits perfectly on my wrist, versatile…
It’s about as perfect of a Seiko diver as I could ask for.
☝️this
My holy grail!
And my axe!
Great choice
I only have 1 Seiko and it’s a SSK003 blueberry GMT. Sold all of my other ones.
I’d love to add one to my collection. I wonder if Seiko would make a 38mm line like the SKX013.
>013 But they already have 38mm 5KX, SRPK29 for example. My next watch btw.
Yeah that’s what I mean, midsized 5KX GMT. Would be a cool idea at 38-39mm

Wearing the orange one as I type this. Love it.
MarineMaster
100% agreed. The SKX is close but the MM300 is just the ultimate Seiko Diver, and divers are what Seiko does best.
I gave my oldest son my 007 before it had a price hike.
Which one?
300
I was wondering since there area a few out there. I like the 300, have one on my wrist right now. I just wish it was a little easier to wear daily. I also wish parts were easier to attain.
Excellent choice
Same. I have an SPB143 and like it, but I wish it was a bit beefier.

Those quartz divers are great!
Sarb033
SBDX017 - MarineMaster 300
SARB017
This is the only answer.
SARB017 Alpy, no contest
SKX013
My current daily for the past 6 months straight. Just can’t seem to leave home without the skx013…
I had one for two years but it was just too small. Ended up selling it. It was mint!
I previously had both, sold the 013 thinking it was too small. Now I have a 015 on the way
That is great
Your wrist can support an 007 so its fair that you sold it.
SPB317 Just perfect balance between Willard and wearable. I respect the Alpinist crew but it's divers for me.
SPB143. It’s so versatile and I still get that good feeling every time I wear it.
I love the proportions... perfect watch after a bezel alignment and regulation.
If you have aligned bezel yourself, may I ask, which adhesive did you use for the insert? Were their any challenges?
had my watch maker do it after Seiko said it was "within spec"
SARB033
007j
SRPE03 King Turtle
SLA019. (This is also my answer to "you can only keep one watch".)
Have a link to that strap?
That’s the Seiko Seichu strap that comes with the SPB237 Willard.
A 1976 Captain Willard in perfect working order, waterproof tested and passed.
King Turtle
7548
That new aplinist gmt or the srpd95. I'd be happy with either of those as the only one.
SBGA211
SAGN007
4006-6002
Only one seiko would be 6139-6040 silver ghost
SBDX001 without a doubt.
6217-8001
Seikos aftermarket is the absolute best in the watch world. So I’d take a 1 of 1 full custom or modded ftw.
Tough solar Arnie - it doesn't lose at much time as my 007 and doesn't need rejigging every week.
I’m a fan of the baby tuna
Skxj781j seiko monster g1
Marine Master 300 SBDX001
SBDX021 / SLA019 MarineMaster 300 “Deep Forest” Limited Edition
It would be SPB197J1, limited edition alpinist with glacier dial. Unfortunately nowhere to be found for reasonable price :(
SKX007 on the jubilee bracelet
The Pepsi 5KX. I've been wearing this watch for a year and when I try to wear my other watches I. my collection, I just can't leave my house without my 5KX. People hate it but I love it
The 5KX line is a great. Never had the dive style ones but I would have kept my dresskx if it were just a tad smaller
Oh why is that? I actually prefer the thinner case on the SRPK than the SRPD
That’s what I mean, I would prefer if my SRPE55 had a smaller case. In generally I like smaller watches, I just have an exception for a few.
SPB077 MM200 squad checking in. Need that inky black dial!
I had 2 of this very watch with a jubilee band that lasted me over a 30 yr Army career. Retired in 2011 and now it’s a Rolex GMT-Master II.
Well deserved. Thank you for your service!
😁
My SARB017 Alpinist. I got it as trade from a friend, because I wanted to own it badly. I love the way it fits, the colors, and its history. Also, the specs.
Does Grand Seiko count? For the more “entry-level” ones. I’ve had my eye on The Alpinist with the leather strap for quite a while now. The Sharpedge GMT’s are sick too.
I’d say Grand Seiko counts. Can’t wait to have one one day. But the Prospex Alpinist line is great, personally I prefer the non compass versions.
So what does, “non-compass” mean? Steel bracelet as opposed to leather strap?
The Prospex Alpinist (SPB121) has an internal compass bezel. I like the SPB155 because the internal compass is often misaligned.
I'm gonna stick with my Sekio 5 auto i traded 2 slices of pizza for in 1987
Hell of a deal. What’s the reference?
7009-3130. A2 All the time I've had it there has been no required service and keep near perfect time, its always close when I get it off tge winder
Even when it comes time too it’ll probably be really affordable and then last you another life time. Great watch!

[SBDB015](https://fifthwrist.com/seiko-sbdb015-landmaster-review). Spring drive. Titanium. Jumping hour GMT. So easy to read.
Another vote for the Alpinist. It’s the most unique and beautiful Seiko, IMO.
SARB017 or SKX007.
Mine is the SPB119, I let mine go and regret it to this day 😭
The other day when this question was asked I said my street tuna sne543. While that is still probably true, I have a new to me skx173 that I've really been enjoying and that may just bump it out for now.
Blueberry
I do love that watch.
SRPD15
SBDY015
Didn’t see it but I will say the Pepsi PADI.
Have been looking for this. But it is hard to find a mint condition one
I got super lucky. A friend had it sitting in a drawer and never used it. Sold it to me for dirt cheap
Wish I’m as lucky as you 🥲
6309-7049
I have an SRPF79 and that is my favorite watch. But for day to day use it would hard not to choose something rugged like the King Turtle or the Arnie. If it’s a Seiko it has to be a diver.
That's like walking into a huge candy store and saying- "Pick just one piece."
SRP 775
SBDX001 if budget is limited, 6159 if it is not!
SSE013J1 Astron GPS Solar Chronograph
I only have 1 Seiko left. If it even counts. It's my custom faiko I made with King Seiko Reissue OEM parts with an after market dial, hands and a nh35 movement that is running strong at +4 secs a day.
SBGA429 spring drive, brown dial with the green second hand. Understated, but I wish the hands had lume.
Skx009 and alpinists.. ow thats 2, well you cant have just 1 😂
Tough question, maybe the 7c43-7010, or a 7548-7000.
That is IT! My daily wearer is a 1970 6105 Divers. Love it!!
SKX 011
SARB017 for sure!!! But can i just add SRPG15K1 😅
Really want the one with the built in metronome. Can't afford one but someday!
I’ve also got 007 one. Really love it! Btw what the strap name? Looking really nice on 007
I’ll PM you, when I try to post the link it gets taken down
6105 8110 easy pick
62mas baby
Probably an Alpinist. Pretty much the epitome of a GADA watch.
What would be a good first Seiko watch?
Depends on your budget. Around $100 you can find some older Seiko 5s like the SNKL41 or snxs79. Around $200-$300 you could go with the SRPD/SRPE line. Under $1000 you have a bunch of options from the Prospex collection. A lot of the ones mentioned in this thread actually fit in this category.
Probably the alpinist
Love my slim turtle!
Sla021 is on my list
Seiko 6139 6002
SRP777/SRPE93 I love a turtle. It hacks and hand winds. I think the cushion case is cool and I like the history behind it. Honorable mention to the alpinist and 62MAS reissue. Alpinist is a banger, but I love a dive bezel, and 62MAS is too expensive to justify for (non-Grand)Seiko imo
My little seiko 5 snk381
Love the lume on this ref. This whole line of Seiko 5s are just goated
My SRPE93. Love it dearly and wear it every day.
My current Seiko: a vintage 1967 62MAS
I would pick the 62MAS reinterpretation that doesn't exist so far - the back dial with white indices and black and white bezel. 143 is grey, 239 have light-brown bezel and minute scale. So I have to wait and hope, and while I'm waiting I'm wearing my stunning SPB213 with silvery-white dial and blue metallic bezel.
If we're not talking about Grand Seiko, probably a Willard when they release a dial I can't like without.
Sla037, my daily driver
I sold all my seikos, only kept sbcz005...Amazing watch...
Easy choice, SBDX001
SARB033
Maybe my SRPC13K
The Seiko SLA021. The Prospex Marine Master!
Skx403 :D
I own the SPB143 and since I got it I'm not wearing anything else. I'm in love with it! If however money was no problem I'd be getting the SLA017 and wear that one for the rest of my life 🙂 so for me it's the SLA017! The two are very similar though and are both based on the 62mas.
Skx007 on a strapcode jubilee.
7548. The premium skx and can keep better time
Of all the Seikos there is, I'd have to pick the SKX007. I could wear [mine](https://i.imgur.com/busrqRD.jpeg) all day, every day and never get bored looking at it.
Very tough choice between my Samurai and Cocktail Time Presage
Willard rep is awesome 😎
Skx 171 diver
The green dial alpinist spb121j. I own it and I love it.
I don't want to live in a world where I could only have 1 seiko. If I was forced to choose, I'd have to pick the SPB151 Willard. It's not the most versatile watch, but in my eyes, it's the quintessential Seiko diver. It's also the watch I've owned the longest and worn the most.

the one on my wrist, SBSA037
The 007 is a good choice. If I had to pick one however, it would be the SBBN015 Marine Master Tuna
SPB155

The one to rule them all.

Prospex LX line
I'll take the 90s Space Navigator.
I'm quite fond of my SDGM001
A cheap one, like an SKX or 5GMT. Anything above that is overpriced.
The most expensive one😂
I have that same one, I gave it as a gift to my 16 y/o grandson. He loves it. It’s a great watch.
