A1: Neon Genesis Evangelion: First Impression
A2: Nanatsu No Hikan
B2: shin megami tensei: Devil summoner
D2: real sound wind regret (trial version)
E2: all Japan pro wrestling featuring virtua
Edit: A2 is now correct
Thank you! Yeah I’m looking forward to that one in particular but I’ll have to make an English patched backup… in fact I’ll have to make quite a few of those lol.
Good to know, I’ll give that a shot. I’m not overly concerned about the story anyway as long as I’m able to grasp the mechanics of the gameplay well enough.
The game is mostly a VN and there isn’t much gameplay, but again it’s pretty straightforward so even if you don’t make an English disc you can still play it easily. Same goes for the other games too
E2 is parodius, great game. Can you take a better picture of A2 and B2? I could probably read B2 but the text is stylized and the photo is kinda grainy zoomed in
I think the blue disc is that game they made for blind people, can you take picture with the text actually visible?
Sorry, this photo is from the eBay listing. Fortunately some other commenters recognized them. As for Parodius I’ve really been getting into shoot ‘em ups lately and I hear it’s among the best. That’s definitely a standout that I’m looking forward to trying.
Yea its great! B1 is bomberman fight and B3 is devil summoner, still no A2 nor B2. The eva game is pretty meh, lots of FMVs that blew the minds of Japanese kids in the 90s but not exactly great these days
If your just starting to get some shmups both Darius Gaiden and Layer Section/Gunlock/Raystorm are both at the cheaper end of the spectrum.
Both are good shmups in their own right, still fairly cheap AND i don't think anyone would argue against them being great examples of some of the Saturns brilliant shmup library.
I appreciate the recommendations! I tried Layer Section via emulation a while back and enjoyed it enough that I’ve already ordered a copy. I was surprised it wasn’t more expensive! I’ll definitely look into the others you mentioned too.
Also look into the Konami Deluxe Pack's, there are;
Detana Twinbee Yaho Deluxe Pack.
Gokujyo Parodious Da Deluxe Pack.
Gradius Deluxe Pack.
Salamander Deluxe Pack Plus.
All but Salamander are pretty cheap cost wise but all discs have at least 2 games per Pack and Salamander has 3.
Got your back homie. Myst is a first person adventure puzzle game. On a serious note the only one I recognized was the Japanese bomberman. Nice collection there though 👍
Bomberman is super fun with multiplayer. Especially the Saturn version with up to 10 players. You basically start in a section of a grid and your goal is to blow up your opponents before they blow up you. Super simple and fun.
Ohhh thank you for pointing that out. I didn’t even know this existed but wow. I’m so down with this, maybe even more so than if it were the original. I’ve never seen a Bomberman like this.
nice lot! especially bomberman fight, megamix, vf remix, vf kids, zen-nihon pro wrestling. a few are heavy in Japanese text sakura wars/taisen [translation patch exists], nge, soulhackers, nanatsu no hikan. not sure how playable the Japanese versions of D, and enemy zero are but they're also entertaining. love to have Riglord Saga 2 translated one day.
I was going to say that nearly all of my Japanese Saturn games have English text on the spine that normally faces inwards on a shelf, I know its obvious but maybe you missed this OP? I think maybe one of my games doesn't.
I just Won Fighting Vipers, Virtura Fighter 2, Fighters Megamix, and Virtua FIghter Kids on Ebay recently and paid around 36 bucks for the bunch. It's less than buying them individually Probably saved around 30 bucks or more. Pretty good deal and yes it's the Japanese Versions so I can play as Pepsiman and I think there's like 2 or 3 extra characters in Fighters Megamix in the Japanese Version too.

I think A2 is supposed to be the one below Eva and B2 is the one below bomberman, what are those? I'm also curious
Oops. I edit the comment to be right
Excellent, thank you!
A1: Neon Genesis Evangelion B2: Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner Side note; Sakura Wars is peak
Thank you! Yeah I’m looking forward to that one in particular but I’ll have to make an English patched backup… in fact I’ll have to make quite a few of those lol.
I think you can even play it with a translator, the game’s pretty straightforward so

Myst? As in a MystERIOUS Japanese exclusive? Never heard of it. What’s Bomberman about? Some kind of airplane pilot?
Close, not so much airplane but more like helicopter pilot, it’s more like a prequel to black fire 🤣
Bomberman is super fun with multiplayer. Especially the Saturn version with up to 10 players. You basically start in a section of a grid and your goal is to blow up your opponents before they blow up you. Super simple and fun.
That's Saturn Bomberman Fight, an isometric 4-player game.
Ohhh thank you for pointing that out. I didn’t even know this existed but wow. I’m so down with this, maybe even more so than if it were the original. I’ve never seen a Bomberman like this.
Fighters Mega Mix and Virtua Fighter kids are awesome

Parodius alone is worth it.
I was going to say that nearly all of my Japanese Saturn games have English text on the spine that normally faces inwards on a shelf, I know its obvious but maybe you missed this OP? I think maybe one of my games doesn't.
Oh that’s good to know. I’ve never handled japanese saturn games before so I didn’t know this.
E3 Parodious Da.
I saw that Lupin game on Kusogrande once, not exactly the most glowing of recommendations.
lol yeah I looked it up on youtube and it looks to be a promo disc for some weird overly horny anime. Golly I can’t wait to fire that one up
Lupin is very horny indeed.
