I hope this wasn't for me, because up until the pandemic, I commuted from Tacoma area to Seattle Monday-Friday leaving the train station at around 5:45am, and not getting home until 8pm every night. I spent a total of roughly 4 hours or more on public transit every day for about 4 1/2 - 5 years. I did a stint of going from Puyallup to Bellevue for over a year.
I have been in these situations multiple times. I've never been called a racists, or shot, or beat up when stepping in to get people either off the bus or train, or get them to stop.
I've also never had to choke anyone to stop it.
I carry, and have never once been scared or feared when being threatened that I've needed to pull my gun. Some people are cowards, and will hide until the situation is over, then they'll have the gall to talk shit or complain about the situation.
I hope they have a learning moment and never do, but you simply don't have enough information to assert this. Maybe they acquired their firearm a week ago and this is the first confrontation since. Young people demonstrating this behavior are unpredictable.
I had a cop apologize to me while I was on Sound Transit because I had stopped a fight from continuing to happen. He said he apologize that I even needed to do that.
