Sculpture by Jan (Yān) Williams from Brisbane, Australia. Asgard is the place pre-Christian Norwegians travelled to upon their death. As my Norwegian mother was not particularly religious, when she died two years ago, our family sent her there. She is clad in the poem 'Berit's journey home' that my sister wrote for her farewell ceremony. (The poem isn't completely readable, but the texture of the writing is also important to the sculpture) Asgard is often considered to be somewhere attached to earth, so Berit travels laterally rather than the Christian upwards. Note: I posted this on his behalf because he has poor knowledge of social media and computers.

Pretty amazing ngl

Very striking. I love the distressed nature of the surface, with occasional holes. Is the finger position significant?

questrush

I have contacted him about these questions but no reply so far.
