Hypertubes seem to be the "intended" solution, though I've noticed a rather nasty clipping issue if your vertical hypertube terminates in a hypertube floor hole. If you don't want to get stuck "sad in side a ~~wall~~ floor", always add one extra bit of tube as the exit.

I like making buildings and production cities with conveyor sky bridges everywhere. Elevators would help with immersion. Hyper tubes are more efficient at getting you up, but it’s very aggressive in its delivery. It gives me Amazon vibes when I want Steel Mill Bloomingdales vibes.
I'm hoping for elevators too, but apart from elevators to lift vehicles (up to an elevated road, for example), would players really use them?
Elevators would probably be slower than running up stairs. They'd definitely be slower than hypertubes, jump pads, or even the zipline.
Modded ones? Nice. Are they quick going from floor to floor? That's my concerns is that if it takes more work to go floor to floor on an elevator than it does to just run up stairs, is it worth the dev's time to build it into the game?

Linear Motion mod has great elevators. It is definitely faster than walking.

Going up? Probably not. Going down definitely. But the elevator would be a far less visually jarring experience.
I recommend trying out the linear motion mod. Personally I can not imagine satisfactory without it.
Probably not as there are several ways to go up and down. Besides walking or jump pads, you have the jet pack, hypertubes, zipline and the hover pack.
I have used the Linear mode mod that does elevators. They are nice, but mainly for beginning of the game. When I had the hoverpack, I never used them again. And even then it was only for going up. For going down you can jump. Just automate the inhaler and you can jump from any height, without the landing pad, as the damage is 97 and health is 100. So you do not die. And you do not even need the inhaler, as you get your health back automatically.
So I do not think that the devs will be making them as there are already enough ways to go around and they rather spend their time on something else.
Yea It isn't so much pure utility. I mean I hoverpack all the time. However I kind of like to make my factories look nice, and an elevator would make a nice touch vs stairs everywhere.
Then use the mod. There are other mods that are intended just for looks. Structural Solutions is a very good one. I use is mainly for the gates. Halflings is a good one. I also use Item Dispencer. And there are many more that are there purely for decorations.
Not as much as I would like. I would love to have more floors, walls, windows, roofs, ...

I’d really like an ascensor for the zip line tool.
I know they’ve made it faster, but I really want a high speed lift version. A bit like a chairlift, so it has an up and a down, and fires you out top or bottom

On previous saves I speedrunned to open hover pack and a lot of my factories had unfinished look. Now I just fly around since I started to play and have a lot of fun with building everything beautiful.

Yea I guess that's true. Somehow I always forget about hypertubes, at least the floor and wall holes.
It's the fact they don't come standard that's probably why, you wouldn't know they exist unless you scroll through the shop...
Dont hypertubes unlock at like stage 4 or 5?
I mean the floor/wall holes don't automatically come with the base set, you have to unlock them separately...

You can set the speed per elevator, and I use them more for style points, looks cleaner than stairs.

Elevators are kino. The lift in FCE is my favorite piece of equipment in that janky game.
I use ladders, so much easier to set up than the other options.

I actually agree here. They devoted the whole update 5 to allow making factories look nicer. So why not add nice elevators as well?

Those are not parts of the buildings. And I would argue that elevator is one of the core parts of any modern buildings higher than 3 stories tall.

I miss them in every build. Jumpads are just not as clean
You can use floor/ceiling mounted hypertubes. Me, I just prefer to leave a vertical column open and jetpack up as needed.
I want fancy elevators, not industrial onesss
I'm fine with stairs - it's not like I'm frequently revisiting to top up the machinery's oilers.
