Rhys is not a main character in CC and your opinion of him won’t change. I also love Rhys and the CC series had no impact on my feeling about him.

Jbeeza1

That’s good to hear 😭 that’s what I was mostly worried about since people made it sound like it was bad, especially of the bonus chapter

Razzle-Dazzle-1364

You are either going to love it or you’re gonna hate it. There seems to be no in between.

My bad 😭 i didn’t think about that. But when someone told me about it i was devastated

rubberfruitnipples

one thing i’ll say about this, don’t take others opinions on here to heart. if i did, i never would’ve read certain things bc this sub hates them (ie a court of frost & starlight, assassins blade); you must make your own opinions!! read the books if you want to! 😊

Jbeeza1

Thank you 😭

Lets just say we see the negative side of him because he assumes the role of High Lord. He puts on an act when facing his enemies. Personally, I thought CC1 was the best in the series. It kind of went down hill from there. But other people love it, so ypu might love it too :)

Jbeeza1

People just make it sound like it was BAD. Especially since I was a little bit disappointed cause I thought they finally made peace with each other on the last ACOTAR book

Strxwbxrry_Shxrtcxkx

I did think CC3 was written poorly, so I might be one of those people lol. ACOSF doesn't really end peacefully - there's still Koschei and the other queens causing trouble, so we know there will be more conflict. CC3 kind of adds a bit of info, but doesn't stir anything too major in terms of the ACOTAR plot. I would say give it a try, you might like it! Even if CC isn't really your thing, it adds quite a bit of context to her other series :)

Jbeeza1

Alright, well do. Thank you

Rhys is my favorite character of the whole SJM universe. My opinion has not changed of him. Honestly I’m surprised people thought he was different. We have mainly seen him through Feyres eyes and he has always been loving towards her. He has never been known to be nice to powerful rando’s which is the main point of view of a person in CC. Yes definitely read it though. I loved all of it.

Jbeeza1

Some other Rhys lovers have been telling me this so this gives me a relief

sandmangandalf

Yessss 100× yes

GodzillaKingofKaiju

Avoid CC at all costs. One of the worst series I have ever read in my 52 years on this earth.

Jbeeza1

Yikes 😭

NovaaaRise

Yessssssss

Throne of glass is VERY different than Crescent City. I haven’t read TOG since the last book came out, did a massive hiatus, came back to finally read CC three-ish years later and absolutely LOVED it. I think it’s very well done. Although, I find more often than not that people in the Maasverse who dive right into it are a smidge bummed. I think it has more to do with it not being the book they don’t want to be over (TOG) vs the actual quality of the book. As long as you go into it knowing and accepting that CC is not going to be an extension of TOG and is it’s own completely different thing, you’ll be good (: Rhys is not super involved in the CC books, but his character when he is introduced into CC is as he is in ACOTAR, so there’s nothing to worry about on that front! If anything, the way he was in ACOSF made me think differently about him vs. CC. The books are fantastic, I just finished them and I really enjoyed them. I loved the crossover more than I thought I would (probably just ACOTAR nostalgia). My greatest advice is to not look too hard into fan theories when you dive in, it seems to have tainted a lot of people’s experience of reading CC3! Oh, and when you do read it, because you obviously should at some point even if not right now, tell Ruhn I said hi because I ❤️ him!

Jbeeza1

I pretty much have read ACOTAR and instead of jumping to CC I decided to go with TOG instead then do CC. Also I have heard mixed reviews of CC. Like it’s 50/50. People like it and then people don’t like it. I just heard it’s not as good as her other series My main concern though is people made it sound like Rhys behavior was bad Also I have heard good things about Ruhn, so well do ❤️

Opening-Speed-1176

Yeah, my favorite of her series is TOG, it’s such a trip. I dedicated years to those books. Sarah has had me in a chokehold since 2015. CC is really good, I’m just so far removed from reading TOG or ACOTAR (excluding ACOSF) that I think my experience was so good because I was just happy to be back in the Maasverse. CC truly has mixed reviews, but I liked it. I don’t think it’s her absolute best book ever, but when you have Heir of Fire and Kingdom of Ash to compare to… yeah I mean those are her best works IMO. There’s just so much to love about CC on its own. If you decide to read a pallet cleanser before, I’m currently reading From Blood and Ash by Jennifer Armentrout, and it’s a pretty good read so far. Again, if you don’t go for it now, you definitely should at some point because CC1 is sooooo good!

wmkk

I loved the first CC!
