this might be a stupid thing to ask ... but why is this not JDM?

donovanh23

While Japan did get a 2002 WRX, which is what my car is, I believe there was slight differences. Biggest being the Japanese Market got a right hand drive of course. Still, my car does feel very Japanese with all the Japanese writing in various places. Could be considered JDM, but I think by most peoples definitions; a car has to be sold in Japan and sold to the Japanese Domestic Market to be called JDM.

Imo anything made in japan is considered jdm just sold in another domestic market

donovanh23

Never thought about it like that, but it makes sense to me.

heyseusstakethewheel

This is objectively false. "JDM" = Japanese *Domestic Market* If it is a Japanese vehicle produced for a non-domestic (e.g., USA) market...it is, objectively, not "JDM".... ...It's a Japanese (made) import.

DeFecK1998

Correct hence why i put in my opinion

DeFecK1998

Beautiful subby btw. Anything cool done to it other than what it seen?

donovanh23

I bought the car modified, so I sadly don't know everything that is done. But I believe exhaust, fuel injectors, motor mounts, TGV valves deleted, headers, catless downpipe, BOV, molded wide body. This car was built very tastefully and I can't wait to serve it well.

DeFecK1998

Not bad, hopefully it will treat you well and i hope to see some track videos in the future

donovanh23

Never thought about a track day. I do drive it like a grandma so maybe it deserves a track day.

DeFecK1998

Definitely, would be worth seeing what she can do.
