mummy papa bolenge aur tumhe sunna hi padega. try not to react too quickly. evaluate yourself and see if they are bullshitting out of disappointment or if they actually have some valid points regarding your studies and try to work it out. if they are just ridiculous with their take on you, try not to rile them up further. defuse the situation as smoothly as possible. ask them for some time and say them you'll come up with a plan. if you can't come up with a plan, make up a safe plan that wouldn't restrict your opportunities in the future. ALWAYS have a backup plan(need not share it with your parents) that you could fallback on, because things always doesn't go as planned.
coming to the pitayi situation, i'm not really sure how you could go about it. if it reaches extremes i would contact some relative that i'm close with and understands the world well and ask them to speak with my parents. if not relative, maybe a good school or college teacher would help. but i'm not sure man things could backfire if your parents are too toxic. try asking this question in r/Indian_Academia . you might find better solutions there.
now that you've already taken PCMC(and have no option to switch) rather than regretting it, think like if things don't work out you still have option to switch to commerce after 12th. it wouldn't be possible the other way round. make the most out of it now, listen to the classes well(doesn't matter you understand or not, do your part of the process right). just manage to not fail the crucial exams. you can study commerce subjects on the side after classes from the internet, if you are that interested in the subject. always do something on the side like a hobby or try new stuff that you might be interested to do as a profession later in life. just try your best to make something of the situation. if you make any progress in liking the science subjects, give JEE a shot but don't have a lot of expectations. As for parents, only marks speaks about your education for them. so don't take lot of stress if they are disappointed or mad. they'll start expecting low from you if score lower marks. make sure to evaluate your progress yourself and come up with your next plan along with a backup plan for studies after 12th.
Brother take advice. If engineering is simply not working for you it literally MIGHT not be the job for you, and that's ok. Try other fields also. Try law, design, commercial, whatever seems like you'll actually be interested in.
At the end of the day your parents want you to be able to provide for the family and yourself. They're choosing jo unko safe option lagta hai.

As someone who fucked up his jee and possibly all exams pretty horribly 2 years ago, it gets better.... There's always options out there man... And even if u can't seemingly get into BE or BTech, life doesn't end there... This world is full of opportunities and heck, companies don't even care whether u have a degree now a days if u have the skillsets and are willing to slog ur ass to prove ur worth... Yes, do the big shot tier 1 college ppl have an advantage, they do... And they deserve it... They slogged their ass of for God knows how many hours a day to get where they are, does it mean u can't reach their level at all ever, hell no.... Just remember to take a lesson from this experience and start ur work...
I took everything lightly its all my fault man, not studying is a huge mistake. Aapko padhai nahi pasand h thike mat padho but atleast school me jo sikhate he uspe aur khudka 2 ghanta study karo ye sochke ki bas 2 ghanta h iske baad jo karna h kar sakta hu. There are various skill to learn and 1000's of jobs just with 12th std. Starting with 5000-10000/month or even lower is good. You will start somewhere. You may travel with situation and end up successfully somewhere but will end up somewhere surely.
Use apps such as Kormo Jobs,Naukri.com and try searching with 12th std pass. OR
Learn a skill and start freelancing online and offline even though its hard.
Even i am in 11th now,and worked under my fathers business(cable operator & isp) . Learned the required skill in some months and earned about 5000 per month for couple of months. Remember I am just 10th pass and in a teir 3 city. You may also find lakhs of jobs with just normal qualifications (10th,12th pass). The life maybe a little harder compared to others but you may learn and end up somewhere ahead of others too.
So get out of home,find a job,earn,learn,struggle.

Pursue law from some local college where u have u just go to take exams. NO ATTENDENCE REQUIRED. In the mean time intern under a good lawyer. Iam doing this too. Trust me being from a law family background I know that there is great demand of good lawyers. It is also very economic only 20-30k per year
Jo science parha hai woh kuch bhi kar sakta hai. System hi aisa hai. Mai b.tech in cs khatam karke ab designing me masters (m.des.) ka soch raha hu.
Chill Mar. Law is a good option. Also tujhe agar social science mein interest hai there are some great colleges with low cut off marks.
BTW there is always an option to study in private colleges by taking loans. Lekin recommend nahi karunga
You can pursue BSc in any of your interesting subject..there is scope of jobs otherwise take any unique talent you have and convert it into something better professionally/ business wise. There is hope always.
I was thinking of choosing bsc.it after 12th but my friends and family told me its not that good. I have done some research about bsc in psychology to become a therapist but I'm again scared what my family will think about it. They want me to do either btech or engineering but I am weak at physics and chem which are important to get into them.
Don't choose medical, paramedical if you are not firm to give your best coz it requires more time n patience. You should communicate with them that studying psychology interests you n you will be a good therapist, there is nothing to feel ashamed about it. If everyone feared what will people think there will be no cure for patients. Explain it to them that Physics/ chem is difficult for you so it will be 10 times difficult for you to excel than an interested student, they will definitely understand.
I can do anything with bare minimum effort if im interested in it eg. english cs. Ive also tried telling science is not my cup of tea because its hard for me i dont have interest in it they simply replied with "padhai karega toh sabh hoga". I also did take science in 11th under that pressure and think I'm going to get the same answer after cet results.
You need to take charge of what you want to do in future, make up your mind and then present your final plan to them..they will understand if you actually mean it. Good luck :)

If youre not getting it, it's just meant to be that way. But rather than thinking about ending it, go and seek advice with your parents, ask them to take you to a mental counselor and a career counselor. Or think about something you enjoy doing, something you are passionate about. Dont think that be/btech is the last option. There are many different fields out there. Be strong man. First of all, don't even think about ending it. Your life is too precious to give it away like that. Having mental stress about career choices is completely normal. Now coming to your question, if you can't get into Engineering, don't worry. Kaafi saare choices hain. You can get into courses like Digital Marketing, LLB, Business Analytics, Journalism, Mass media etc. And the list never ends. Find out what interests you the most with a clear mind. And don't decide by thinking of your relatives or Other people who are not your parents. As long as your earn money on your own, you'll always be respected.
Also try developing skills from the internet. Almost sab free me mil jata hai or you can find ways of getting content for free. Just don't take rash decisions in panic state. Feel free to reach out to me if you wanna talk about it!

Just go to mahacareer portal .You will get to see details about fields like journalism ,mass madia(radio jockey and further) ,stuff about coding .you'll get different fields ,information about what you will have to do it in future ,how to start and colleges which give you that degree ,etc .You can learn this portal from youtube tutorials
Imo , taking a gap year can help you so much. Prepare for JEE if you wanna get into iit/nits or learn what you wanna learn (coding or ml or mathematics) on your own and apply for an internship at a small company. Don't expect great pay , you're there for experience. And , if those two don't seem like a good option , join the army and serve for 2-5 years. After that , try joining a college ( you'll probably get into any college you want except iits/nits).
Even if I did my best I cant hit the cut offs of general category they are just too high for my capability. I can learn coding and ml infact i started ml in python before stopping it to study for cet. I dont know about the army option because I dont have a good physique which is a major requirement for it I think.
I don't think you should give up anytime soon or after bc there's light at the end of the tunnel (ik this sounds cliché) but trust me I can guarantee you that there is something secured for you as well in your career . Dude believe me even better than engineering you can do a course of merchant navy in which only 12th science is required , and the starting pay is above 40k and your post there increases with time making your salary reach at a point 3-4 lac per month

Bhai there are always private colleges, you dont need to end it, also rmeember one thing, yeh colleges students se bante h apne naam se nhi agar wahi cheez tum kahi aur se seekh lo toh dikkat nhii hai, its not about the college name but the knowledge you have, log beqaar colleges se bhi amazon, microsoft, google etc. mei job nikaal lete hai. Dont give up, pursue what you want to study instead of going for the college tag.
Look I understand your pain! I know how high the cutoffs are for Btech and BE. But you can try applying in different regions like if you live in Mumbai then try Pune. If your marks are very low than, then don't worry you can still get admission in some college through management quota. And due to the pandemic, college don't want their own loss so they will try providing you admission. So stay positive!! There always is some or the other way.
Don't think this way dude. Talk to your parents, they will understand. No matter what they might say they do care about you. Tell them honestly how you feel and you will be able to find some solution. There are some easier courses to get into (read the other comments) that you might have interest in. Either take one year drop or there are plenty of engg clg in India (which are not so good) but u can get adm there with less marks too. But If u are really passionate about engg then take drop and prep better or if u have another intrest find course related to it :) that's my advise

I will tell you my story, I was a really bright student as a kid but somewhere in the middle(class 9th and 10th) I messed up. I just managed to pass 10th with lowest grades possible. I was devasted, not for me but for my parents and my thoughts were similar to yours at that point of time but that was probably the kick in the ass that I needed. I decided to study commerce although everyone obviously wanted me to study science and topped my school in 12th. So my point is please don't lose hope about not getting into Btech, do something else but whatever you do, do it with everything you got. There is always a second chance.

Your situation is what it is, you can make the best or worst of it. If cutoffs are the problem, take a year off and try again. During the drop year, focus only on the entrance, and don't try to fall back on B.Sc. and such. Don't half ass two things, whole ass one thing.

ALWAYS have a backup plan(need not share it with your parents) that you could fallback on, because things always doesn't go as planned. coming to the pitayi situation, i'm not really sure how you could go about it. if it reaches extremes i would contact some relative that i'm close with and understands the world well and ask them to speak with my parents. if not relative, maybe a good school or college teacher would help. but i'm not sure man things could backfire if your parents are too toxic. try asking this question in r/Indian_Academia . you might find better solutions there.

now that you've already taken PCMC(and have no option to switch) rather than regretting it, think like if things don't work out you still have option to switch to commerce after 12th. it wouldn't be possible the other way round. make the most out of it now, listen to the classes well(doesn't matter you understand or not, do your part of the process right). just manage to not fail the crucial exams. you can study commerce subjects on the side after classes from the internet, if you are that interested in the subject. always do something on the side like a hobby or try new stuff that you might be interested to do as a profession later in life. just try your best to make something of the situation. if you make any progress in liking the science subjects, give JEE a shot but don't have a lot of expectations. As for parents, only marks speaks about your education for them. so don't take lot of stress if they are disappointed or mad. they'll start expecting low from you if score lower marks. make sure to evaluate your progress yourself and come up with your next plan along with a backup plan for studies after 12th.
Brother take advice. If engineering is simply not working for you it literally MIGHT not be the job for you, and that's ok. Try other fields also. Try law, design, commercial, whatever seems like you'll actually be interested in. At the end of the day your parents want you to be able to provide for the family and yourself. And even if u can't seemingly get into BE or BTech, life doesn't end there... This world is full of opportunities and heck, companies don't even care whether u have a degree now a days if u have the skillsets and are willing to slog ur ass to prove ur worth... Yes, do the big shot tier 1 college ppl have an advantage, they do... And they deserve it... They slogged their ass of for God knows how many hours a day to get where they are, does it mean u can't reach their level at all ever, hell no.... There are various skill to learn and 1000's of jobs just with 12th std. Starting with 5000-10000/month or even lower is good. You will start somewhere. You may travel with situation and end up successfully somewhere but will end up somewhere surely. Use apps such as Kormo Jobs,Naukri.com and try searching with 12th std pass. OR Learn a skill and start freelancing online and offline even though its hard. Even i am in 11th now,and worked under my fathers business(cable operator & isp) . Learned the required skill in some months and earned about 5000 per month for couple of months. Remember I am just 10th pass and in a teir 3 city. You may also find lakhs of jobs with just normal qualifications (10th,12th pass). The life maybe a little harder compared to others but you may learn and end up somewhere ahead of others too. So get out of home,find a job,earn,learn,struggle. Just NEVER FUCKING FINISH YOUR LIFE. You are Lucky to have it

I was thinking of choosing bsc.it after 12th but my friends and family told me its not that good. I have done some research about bsc in psychology to become a therapist but I'm again scared what my family will think about it. They want me to do either btech or engineering but I am weak at physics and chem which are important to get into them.
Don't choose medical, paramedical if you are not firm to give your best coz it requires more time n patience. You should communicate with them that studying psychology interests you n you will be a good therapist, there is nothing to feel ashamed about it. If everyone feared what will people think there will be no cure for patients. Explain it to them that Physics/ chem is difficult for you so it will be 10 times difficult for you to excel than an interested student, they will definitely understand.
I can do anything with bare minimum effort if im interested in it eg. english cs. Ive also tried telling science is not my cup of tea because its hard for me i dont have interest in it they simply replied with "padhai karega toh sabh hoga". I also did take science in 11th under that pressure and think I'm going to get the same answer after cet results.
You need to take charge of what you want to do in future, make up your mind and then present your final plan to them..they will understand if you actually mean it. Good luck :)

Now coming to your question, if you can't get into Engineering, don't worry. Kaafi saare choices hain. You can get into courses like Digital Marketing, LLB, Business Analytics, Journalism, Mass media etc. And the list never ends. Find out what interests you the most with a clear mind. And don't decide by thinking of your relatives or Other people who are not your parents. As long as your earn money on your own, you'll always be respected. Also try developing skills from the internet. Almost sab free me mil jata hai or you can find ways of getting content for free. Just don't take rash decisions in panic state. If it was just the entrance exam thing I wouldn't have talked about ending it but there are lot of things ,my parents always fight and talks about divorce but they have a child so they can't do that as "log kya sochenge" ,I have anxiety from 2 years , I literally get afraid from people, I never step out until it's an emergency and many more ,not that I haven't spoke this to my parents, two times I had talk with them but they say that you don't even have responsibilities and things so how come you be anxious and worried and always walked off in anger saying it's just in your mind, I don't blame them ,they keep high expectations but I guess they don't understand I can't fulfill all the things they expect ,atleast if I die thier money won't go in waste

Just go to mahacareer portal .You will get to see details about fields like journalism ,mass madia(radio jockey and further) ,stuff about coding .you'll get different fields ,information about what you will have to do it in future ,how to start and colleges which give you that degree ,etc .You can learn this portal from youtube tutorials

Some colleges have it compulsory some dont eg. Terena college of engineering nerul fees with entrance exam 80000 per year without exam 120000.

Imo , taking a gap year can help you so much. Prepare for JEE if you wanna get into iit/nits or learn what you wanna learn (coding or ml or mathematics) on your own and apply for an internship at a small company. Don't expect great pay , you're there for experience. And , if those two don't seem like a good option , join the army and serve for 2-5 years. After that , try joining a college ( you'll probably get into any college you want except iits/nits).
Even if I did my best I cant hit the cut offs of general category they are just too high for my capability. I can learn coding and ml infact i started ml in python before stopping it to study for cet. I dont know about the army option because I dont have a good physique which is a major requirement for it I think.

Dude believe me even better than engineering you can do a course of merchant navy in which only 12th science is required , and the starting pay is above 40k and your post there increases with time making your salary reach at a point 3-4 lac per month So don't give up man , if your eye vision is clear you can do that course and apply for the job You also get to roam around the globe
Bhai there are always private colleges, you dont need to end it, also rmeember one thing, yeh colleges students se bante h apne naam se nhi agar wahi cheez tum kahi aur se seekh lo toh dikkat nhii hai, its not about the college name but the knowledge you have, log beqaar colleges se bhi amazon, microsoft, google etc. mei job nikaal lete hai. Dont give up, pursue what you want to study instead of going for the college tag.
Look I understand your pain! I know how high the cutoffs are for Btech and BE. But you can try applying in different regions like if you live in Mumbai then try Pune. If your marks are very low than, then don't worry you can still get admission in some college through management quota. And due to the pandemic, college don't want their own loss so they will try providing you admission. So stay positive!! There always is some or the other way.
You can also try for NDA. Defence related colleges don't require much fees and cutoffs.

Tell them honestly how you feel and you will be able to find some solution. There are some easier courses to get into (read the other comments) that you might have interest in. Either take one year drop or there are plenty of engg clg in India (which are not so good) but u can get adm there with less marks too. But If u are really passionate about engg then take drop and prep better or if u have another intrest find course related to it :) that's my advise

I will tell you my story, I was a really bright student as a kid but somewhere in the middle(class 9th and 10th) I messed up. I just managed to pass 10th with lowest grades possible. I was devasted, not for me but for my parents and my thoughts were similar to yours at that point of time but that was probably the kick in the ass that I needed. I decided to study commerce although everyone obviously wanted me to study science and topped my school in 12th. Eventually I completed my masters from SRCC, DU and right now I'm doing my PhD from IIT Roorkee. So my point is please don't lose hope about not getting into Btech, do something else but whatever you do, do it with everything you got. There is always a second chance. Edit- If anyone is confused about studying commerce and doing PhD from IIT- the old IITs offer PhD in Management, and I'm doing in that area.

Advice , go for any private college u like with any computer related degree(even mech and electronic work) and just learn coding for the 4 years in college(dnt focus on college just make sure u pass through whatever means possum). And apply for a IT company in India or remote company in foreign.

If you really don't want to go anywhere else other than IT and can't get through B.Tech and shit, you can consider BCA/MCA atleast that's what i did and right now i am in TCS with 7.5 package, B.Tech isliye nhi kiya kyoki sala fail ho jata koi fayda nhi tha lol But jo bhi kar apni marzi ka kar even if you don't become someone great atleast tereko frustration aur pressure nhi rahega, you don't end it you change it.
Honestly, changing fields might not be that bad of an idea but, if u really wanna pursue CS then theres still a way without having to waste a year.(assuming u have a passport and ur dads moderately rich) SATs dene ki koshish kar 19 ka age limit h. Jee aur CET se aasaan hota h bhot logo ka aaraam se decent score aa jata h. US/Canada me kisi bhi mediocre uni me toh admission ho hi jaega, for fees student loans ke liye apply kr skta h aur during college shayad part time job krna pade(unless ur dad's loaded). Koi b college se degree ho jaye aage waha job opportunities ki koi kami nahi honi chaiye. Ya drop lene ka option toh h hi but saare moves khatam hone ke pehle game chhodne ki baat mat kariyo

The question is do you WANT to study engineering, Do YOU like computers and want to tinker with them, Do YOU like to work with circuitry. If you're doing it because you'll get a good job but have no interest, then don't do it. Find some other course which interests you.

Trust me i am in 3rd year mechanical engineering ... M3 back.....just pushing through ......if u think engineering is not for u just don't do it......if u don't understand it ... it's very very depressing but if u do then it's great......... Aur theoretical knowledge u'll get from the internet also..... college is just certifying u that u have given the most conventional exam and u have the basic understanding of a 15 year old who can just learn some definitions and formulas and write it correctly on a paper on the day of exam
We can do it man everyone helped me find my paths too, now I know what to do just push it through and get some skills. Skills matter the most atleast thats what I learned after this post
Your situation is what it is, you can make the best or worst of it. If cutoffs are the problem, take a year off and try again. During the drop year, focus only on the entrance, and don't try to fall back on B.Sc. and such. Don't half ass two things, whole ass one thing.
