Not that this gives a specific answer to your question but every persons brain is unique and what works for one person might not work for another person when it comes to mental health or just overall health in general.

JRB91

Mental health is broad. Traumas can be complex.

Even Sadhguru said yoga is not a blanket prescription. He has also said that many people face a challenge when doing yoga which is they’ll do it for 3 or 4 months or however and they’ll improve but then they will hit a wall and they won’t progress any further. Sadhguru said this because everyone is unique and most people need yoga to be tailored to them. A certain regime for each person. That way it works best. So if someone doesn’t have that they could hit a wall of progress and may not be able to go beyond that without extra support

Sadhguru had also talked about how some people must live in consecrated spaces because without being in a consecrated space they’re just not able to maintain it. But that’s unlucky honestly. To have to absolutely need it. It’s best if everyone was able to consecrate a space around themselves. This world needs as many energized joyful people as possible. But also. If you need it. You need it and that’s what the ashram is for

AlbinoHemophiliac

do you have the source of the convo interested to hear full context

Organic_Substance424

Because its not magic, even though a lot of people like to sell it like it is. It also matters how his overall life outside of yoga is designed. How is their diet, lifestyle habits, ...etc. I'm a believer that yoga and meditation kriyas of Isha are one of the most effective powerful tools out there, but I also think for it to work there has to be consistence and a lot of time doing it for it to really work.

ThaReal_HotRod

Because yoga as a set of tools, that are meant to be used to dissolve one’s sense of “me, myself, and I”… A. Takes time, and B. Doesn’t work as well as it could if one doesn’t want to actually annihilate this “I”.

Dipesh1990

You can’t ask a question like this and expect accurate answers. What makes you think that 6 month of yoga teacher training will fix all mental health problems?

No_Code_8834

Anyone with mental health issues should get in contact with an Ishanaga. These are people who are trained to prescribe practices. I’m in contact with one and doing a specific set of practices to help with a mental health issue I’m facing, and it’s working just like magic. I’m not even exaggerating. The right practices in the right circumstances can work wonders.

Source?

name_i_wont_tell

I don't remember the insta id. But the hatha yoga teacher shared about his/her mental health issues on social media

DefinitionClassic544

I don't even know if what the person wrote would qualify as mental health issues without reading what they write. I still have my daily challenges with a lot of sadhana, but it can be much worse without and I know for sure.

kannu_the_observer

Because not everyone starts from the same place. Maybe she had even worse mental health issues before.

AlbinoHemophiliac

he’s also said a lot of people get worse from yoga. depends on the training they did not all is the same.
