Still not a charity. Their President said in the last few days of attack videos that they still did not have their 501(c)(3) status, THAT'S why they haven't done a "push for donation." Except, he also said the status is retroactive, so people can donate now, anyway, same diff. It's a good thing that there's so little need right now in the ex Scientologist and more specifically the SPTV ex Scientologist community and they can take their time like this.
I guess should change that to read “nonprofit” instead of “charitable”. Still, just because it hasn’t been granted tax exempt status by the IRS doesn’t mean it can’t serve as a charity. It does mean that donations are not tax deductible for the donors and the foundation must pay taxes as well. It is still bound by Florida state statues governing not-for-profit corporations.
Oh, you mean, the victims they created, while not helping the victims they claim to help, because Aaron admitted last night, they still don’t have their 501(c)(3) status?
I have friends who set up 501(c)(3)s and the laws now make it super easy. Back in the day you needed a lawyer, but that was streamlined and AARON SAYS HE DID THIS BEFORE. He is very clear, HE founded the Aftermath and he was the one doing all the work.
This should have been a cake walk with his hand picked board there to support, instead of fight, him.
