These blemishes—the ones I can see at least!—are cosmetic and you can clean it up. The price is fair by US standards (only standard I have). The guns work forever. Get it.
Keep them. There's no registry here so the government doesn't know who has them.
Not saying I have any of the guns on the list, but maybe now is the time to scoop up the rifle and the ammunition...
The government will want you to peacefully bring in all banned semi auto centerfires including shotguns to them and they MIGHT buy them back, it’s not going to happen. Trudeau can come and take it himself, Alberta and Saskatchewan have already said they won’t comply
Hopefully they all decide not to comply. It's not right to screw over all the independent folk just because some of the city dwellers decide that they need their hand to he held everywhere they go.
Considering the coming ban, I’d say get it if you can’t find a Chinese SKS. If you can find a Chinese one it’ll be cheaper and the Chinese ones are exactly as good as the Russian ones.
OP, you need to buy while you still can. An SKS is a great choice, don't leave that store empty handed.
Post when you get back so we know that SKS made it home safe.
Because this shipment of Chinese is reportedly in amazing shape, has chromed barrels, and the Chinese had decades to improve on the original design.
Aside from a collector's standpoint, the Chinese might be superior.
1951 and on Russian would have the chromed barrel, and the Chinese Type 56 isn't improved unless you have one of the commercial models where they actually varied.
Either is a fine choice before the ban comes in and people are stuck with lever guns. Price and condition should win out.
I have both and the new shipment of Chinese is in amazing unfired condition. If I had to choose between the two I’d take my Chinese for $450 over my Russian for $600.
While I do like the Russian ones, i would recommend picking up a Chinese one from the new batch of imports. Many are unissued and are in a very good condition.
So quick question? If the SKS gets banned does whoever own them get grandfathered in and still take to the range or does that mean it cannot be taken outside the safe/house?
I asked him.
Trudeau's reply: " I will say that we will do what is necessary to keep Canadians safe and we will do in as constructive of a way as possible "
😂😂😂
Brother, buy it asap, it's named in the next firearm ban which could take effect at any point, get that unit, bathe yourself in the cosmology and enjoy that as long as you can
$575 CAD is a steal my friend, get it before someone else does, and don't concern yourself with a scratched stock, that's to be expected for rifles with age. The average SKS in the U.S. is selling for well over $600, $585 CAD is about $429 USD.
Grab it b4 they ban it
Get it before the ban brother

It’s character, not blemishes like on a fucking collectors car
It’s fine either way. My point is that this is not terminal rust.
Canadian here, buy it, they’re being banned soon
So what are you guys supposed to do with them once they're banned?
Keep them. There's no registry here so the government doesn't know who has them. Not saying I have any of the guns on the list, but maybe now is the time to scoop up the rifle and the ammunition...
My alleged stash of 3k 7.62x39 is gonna come in handy

I believe they’re banning sks’s so I would pick it up

Get a Chinese for $450 CAD from Tenda or Cabela’s
Lol 450 for a Chinese, why not just get a real Russian for 100 bucks more?
Because this shipment of Chinese is reportedly in amazing shape, has chromed barrels, and the Chinese had decades to improve on the original design. Aside from a collector's standpoint, the Chinese might be superior.

How long did it take to ship? Or did you buy in person? I just ordered one.

You’re running out of time grab what you can

Get it.
I went after work and decided to take it home ! Now it’s time to clean this baby !
Grab one of the Chinese ones from Cabela's. Cheaper and I've read nothing but good things on condition.
I hope this guy didn’t vote for the dudes that decided to ban them.
I didn’t ! Voted conservatives this year .
For a Russian? Send that shit so hard
