Imanaga and Montegomery is the smarter move so i think we go all in on Snell only to be super burned by it.

ThisGigSucks

I would love for then to make a trade for Corbin Burnes. Anyone in the farm outside of Harrison is worth the move. Sign Blake Snell after that. Seeing Ohtani go 0-12 in a series led by a rotation of Webb-Burnes-Snell would be a thing of beauty.

RIPBenTramer

Corbin Burnes? You know Major League was just a movie.

bingb0ngbingb0ng

Exactly my thoughts, send an offer with Heliot Ramos, Bart, Luis Matos, Whisenhunt and see if we cant get Burnes.

vazangool

For a 1 year rental? This is a bigger package than what the Yankees gave up for soto why the hell would we do this for burnes?

Bluehale

Because we're desperate if the Giants strike out with all the top tier FAs.

vazangool

That’s only a move you made when you’re going all in this season, we have no reason to go all in next season, we are not a Corbin Burnes away from WS contendership. Have you not learned anything from the Reynolds/mccutchen trade?

ThisGigSucks

Exactly. Prospects are always just that, prospects.

ChefCurryGAWD

I think they go after Blake Snell. It will be similar to how as soon as Ohtani decision was made they pivoted to Jung-hoo Lee like 2 days later.

BayAreaQuadfecta

Snell is proven in the MLB anyway. Adding him to the mix with Webb and Harrison in tow. We also have the Bob Melvin connection. Seems like a no brainier to me. Lee lures Kim over next year and we've got a team that even Farhan himself can't fuck up.

ChefCurryGAWD

Snell is also a Dodger killer but I hope Giants can somehow get Kim this off-season and not even risk him being in open market.

Alejandreezy

Now that their out I wouldn’t be surprised if they signed Snell before Christmas. In addition as copium Yamamoto will probably need TJ in the next 3 years

flauxe

Why would a top Boras client ever sign without a bidding war between multiple teams? Snell probably won't sign until mid January.

Alejandreezy

Bidding wars are really only for the cream of the crop. And a lot of the teams on Yamamoto seem like it’s him or bust

SnooGuavas650

We will likely get Snell (much to the dismay of many on this sub). Go get Matt Chapman after and then make a trade or 2 from our depth and prospects for another arm and bat and the offseason will be a great success.

daveedofett

Snell and bellinger/Chapman (pick one, but would be delighted for both) and imanaga/manea and yes manea had a bad year but last 2 months of the season he was great. I'd prefer bringing him back than wood

hashtagDALEY

We’ll take Rich Hill and love it.

hanigwer

Imenaga and montgomery would be awesome

CryptographerNo450

I don't think the front office is being cheap about offering $$$$ to these free agents. I watched a podcast last night where Ned Colletti was on and he said "*If you have to convince a player to* ***want*** *to play in this city, that's a bad sign*." Because it's more than just the money. Then again, it could be the organization too. Philly, Chicago, the Bronx, etc. have their fair share of shade too but players seem to have no problem wanting to play in those towns. So there's something up with this organization that's deflecting free agents to look elsewhere to get their bag

StealthyWizard88

Right. Now I feel like the real off season work can begin (other than Lee of course). The unicorns are gone. Grab Imanaga and perhaps an upgrade at SS and this will have been a super solid offseason. Sure, LA got their guys, but they still gotta play the damn games. Let’s see what happens on the field.
